The United Nations of Earth was founded in the year 2189 as total nuclear war loomed on humanity. In a last ditch effort to unite the world and stop the impending apocalypse, Canada launched a manned mission to our closest neighboring star, Alpha Centauri. The mission was a total success, and the quarreling nations of the world realized the pointlessness of the fighting. Then came a golden age of peace and prosperity as Mankind quickly made its way across the Western Spiral Arm of our galaxy. Many worlds were colonized in the short time of only 50 SEYs (standard Earth years). Several sentient species were encountered and all races worked together for the better of the galaxy. The future was bright for humanity, but it was not to be. Now, the chances of encountering other humans in space (space is infinite, so there's an infinite chance that sooner or later...) is roughly Six- quadrillion-five-hundred-billion-eight-hundred million-nine-thousand-two-hundred-26 to one.(and 86% of statistics are made up)But the worst luck in all of Earth's history was about to hit. The Coalition of Planets (C.O.P.) was a vast empire with a forty-thousand year head start in both technology and controlled space. In 2239 a C.O.P. expeditionary force made contact with a small outpost on the borders of UNE space. Being stuck-up imperial pigs, they immediately demanded surrender. But the United Nations of Earth, being a stubborn and independent people, refused. Since then, military technology has sprung forward, with a combination of both new-found and reverse-engineered developments. We are proud to say we have survived numerous attempts by the C.O.P. to be crushed out of existence.
