About this group

MOCpages Classic Race Teams

We aim to build some of the most famous historic race teams, in LEGO. Membership is by selection only, so this won't be the biggest or most active group, but we hope to eventually have the full entry of classic teams, including race cars, transporters and parts trucks.

How it works

Anyone who knows their motorsport will be able to name some of the amazing race teams from the '50s- '70s, some of which still exist, whilst others have long since gone.

We'd like to create them out of LEGO. This includes the racing cars, the vans, trucks and anything else that goes with them.

Step 1: Choose a race team, and log it in the 'Race teams' thread to the right >

Step 2: Pick a vehicle or vehicles from that team to create. You can build everything they need (i.e 2-3 cars, the transporter and spares truck) or you can team up (which would be more fun) with other MOCers and share out the vehicles.

If you'd like to join a team that already exists and help contribute towards their finished set of vehicles you must first ask the team owner. They can accept or reject your offer.

Step 3: Build your chosen vehicle or vehicles.

Important; The team and vehicles must be historic. For now that's 1950s to '70s. They must also be Large or Extra Large scale. This means race cars approximately 14-18 studs wide, and trucks 20-26 studs wide.

Step 4: Post a link to your vehicle in the 'Team Vehicle Created' thread to the right >

If it meets the above requirements it will be added to the homepage!

Hopefully we'll eventually end up with a full compliment of race teams in matching scale (so theoretically they could all be part of one event).

As you can see, this is quite a challenge, and may mean entries are rare and the group stays small. That's cool - the aim is a set of race teams, not the biggest number of members.
