About this group

Welcome to the official MOCPages group for the new Midwest Fire Collaborative!

The Midwest Fire Collaborative is a concept based off of the Northeast Fire Collaborative (www.nefcfire.com) of the Greater Cincinnati (Ohio) Area. The NEFC is a collaborative effort between the Mason Fire Department, the Blue Ash Fire Department, the Sycamore Township Fire Department, the Sharonville Fire Department, and the Loveland-Symmes Fire Department in which dispatching and response systems are streamlined by combining resources to provide for an effective and quick response to any call. Essentially, the NEFC operates on a system that will dispatch the required units that are closest to a received 911 call, regardless of jurisdiction or city limits. So, for example, an alarm for a house fire on the outer limits of Mason may receive first due units from Sharonville, as Sharonville's fire station is closer geographically than Mason's. By utilizing this system, fire response times are greatly reduced and lives and property are saved. The NEFC also operates like a traditional mutual aid group, where units from different departments are available to be called to assist other fire units.

The lego fire community version, the MWFC, is essentially the exact same in terms of function, response guidelines, and structure. This will be unlink most groups that are out there, in that there are no requirements as to department size, vehicle colors, types of vehicles or location. The only requirement so far is that all vehicles in all member departments carry a small sticker identifying the department as an MWFC department. This picture (http://www.emergencybricks.com/gallery/album/215-unofficial-clhfd-photos/), showing the CLHFD's Engine 11 wearing an MWFC sticker serves only as an example of how a member department can label their rigs. There are no strict requirements as to the size, font, color, or location of this sticker, but the sticker must be placed on both the left and right side of the vehicle.
