Tentacruel Judgment

Well, after two months, there are... two tentacruels. >.<

Oh well, it's time to commence with the judging. I still wish Cody could enter his tentacruel, but he seems adamant about judging.

Aren't I the only judge? Or do we have a couple other volunteers? I'd be glad to enter if someone replaces me.

Yeah, you are currently the only one.

HEY! Isn't there anybody still watching this group who could do this? There'd only be three so it's not such a huge undertaking.

Well, Cody, you can wait a couple days or just go ahead and judge. It's up to you.

I would be happy to judge if cody entered.

EDIT: I have finished judging, when should I post my scores? Also, this was very close, only 1 point seperated first from second and only 3 between first and third, so if anyone else wants to help judge please do so.

Thanks for stepping in, Tentacruel was a lot of fun to build. I'm glad I could enter it. :)

Filip's Tentacruel
RESEMBLENCE: 8/10 - It looks like tentacruel, a very square tentacruel, but it was still instantly recognizable.
FLOW: 8/10 - It flows quite nicely, there aren't any gaps or weird connections, the only problems are some of the tentacles that bend at almost 90 degree angles.
CREATIVITY: 1/5 - The front 2 tentacles are nice but in the end it's just stacked bricks with a bit of basic SNOT.
ORIGINALITY: 2/5 - Wasn't really sure what to give here as noone else did anything like it and at the same time it is very basic, decided on a 2 because stacking bricks isn't exactly a new concept.
PRESENTATION: 5/5 - Your photos are great as always.

TOTAL: 24

Tracy's Tentacruel
RESEMBLANCE: 7/10 - I knew it was tentacruel. It seems a bit tall and i've never seen tentacruel with the tentacles spread out like that before.
FLOW: 6/10 - It's not bad but it's not exactly good either, head on it looks great but from the sides there are large gaps.
CREATIVITY: 3/5 - It's reasonably creative but nothing that made me say "Wow! never thought of using that piece in that way".
ORIGINALITY: 2/5 - It's very similar to Cody's and I feel many parts (the trans red pieces and the droid arm tentacles) were very obvious for a minifig scale tentacruel.
PRESENTATION: 5/5 Amazing photos, the only thing I would have liked would be a shot of the back.
BONUS POINTS: You asked not to award points for the vig so I won't, but you would have earned 3/5 (I feel the goldeen should look more scared).

TOTAL: 23

Cody's Tentacruel
RESEMBLANCE: 7/10 - It looks like a tentacruel, it also looks a bit overweight. Perhaps it ate too many rare candies?
FLOW: 7/10 - It doesn't have many gaps but it looks a bit blocky.
CREATIVITY: 2/5 - Using the octagon piece (not sure of technical name) to attach the tentcles is a shortcut and makes it look rather strange at this scale.
ORIGINALITY: 2/5 - It's very similar to tracy's and I feel many parts (the trans red pieces and the droid arm tentacles) were very obvious for a minifig scale tentacruel (mostly copy pasted from above).
PRESENTATION: 3/5 - Only 2 pictures and in 1 it looks like it has yellow tentacles, but in the end I can see the finished product and that's all that really matters.

TOTAL: 21

Thats how I judged them. I went into this not being a fan of Filip's style and i'm still not (no offense Filip, I just don't like the large blocky designs), but even I must admit that his creations are usually very accurate and detailed, and that is why he got the highest score from me.
