MARCH JUDGES REPORT IN!

Ok, I need our March judges to begin judging the entries! If you don't know what to do, please find the Judging Rules thread and take a gander at it.

REMEMBER, since this is a type contest, the "Originality" category is replaced by a "Subject" category. It's worth up to five points and is based on the POTENTIAL of the pokemon chosen. Basically, how impressive could it be if an accurate likeness is achieved? This way, more difficult pokemon pull ahead of really simple ones.

Dark Ray reporting in.
Sorry for the late(?) judging but I didn't feel like doing it yesterday (noone would have taken the results seriously anyways) and I was busy most of today. Anyways, my decisions.

Tracy's Hitmonlee
SUBJECT: 2/5 - It's a brown lump with arms and legs, they are stretchy+bendy limbs, but still just lump+limbs.
RESEMBLANCE: 6/10 - It's alright, but the lump could be smoother and browner, I also want better arms (they are supposed to be stretchy+bendy too).
FLOW: 7/10 - Needs a smoother lump AKA body.
CREATIVITY: 3/5 - I've seen the leg technique before, but never like this.
PRESENTATION: 3/5 - 1 picture >_>
TOTAL: 21

Tracy's Hitmonchan
SUBJECT: 4/5 - Probably the most complex pokemon entered this month, lots of details in hitmonchan.
RESEMBLANCE: 9/10 - Amazing for such small scale, I only wish the shoulder things were better.
FLOW: 9/10 - Beautiful flow, the crimp(?) in the arms was really the only thing stopping me from giving a 10.
CREATIVITY: 1/5 - Upside down hair is nice, but I must detract points for what looks like custom parts (the feet/leg connectors and arms, they look like tubing that has been cut to size and crimped, if they're not let me know).
PRESENTATION: 4/5 - 2 pictures >_> An improvement, but still no rear-view.
TOTAL: 27

Tracy's Lucario
SUBJECT: 2/5 - Lucario doesn't have a lot of minor details.
RESEMBLANCE: 7/10 - I could tell it was lucario, but some proportions and colours are off, I also don't like the rocket legs
FLOW: 8/10 - Flows quite nicely.
CREATIVITY: 2/5 - I love how you used a skeleton leg, other than that not a lot of techniques.
PRESENTATION: 5/5 - You finally managed to show everything in 2 pictures, well done.
TOTAL: 24

Shadow X's Lucario
SUBJECT: 2/5 - Lucario doesn't have a lot of minor details.
RESEMBLANCE: 3/10 - I'm going to be honest, I didn't know what it was from the thumpnail, after clicking the link a lot of things stuck out, the oversized head, the weird body proportions, the brown stick coming out of his arms. I feel if it weren't for the colour it could be nearly any humanshape pokemon.
FLOW: 2/10 - Like I said above, it does not flow well.
CREATIVITY: 1/5 - Simply because it wasn't entirely stacked bricks.
PRESENTATION: 2/5 - Many of the pictures are blurry and you never show a shot of lucarios back.
OTHER: Not sure if you were going for a vignette but it didn't work, it wasn't to scale and a cave would have been a better location IMO.
Also wanted to take this time to say your second version of lucario is better, but it wasn't entered so I can't judge it.
TOTAL: 10

Hank's Lucario
SUBJECT: 2/5 - Lucario doesn't have a lot of minor details.
RESEMBLANCE: 8/10 - At first glance I thought this was the best lego lucario I had ever seen, but upon closer inspection some colours are off, if you had made the arms the right colours it would have earned a 9/10.
FLOW: 9/10 - Very very nice flow, I only wish the limbs were wider in some areas.
CREATIVITY: 2/5 - Limbs are nice but not exactly a new technique, if I had a better view of how you attached the "head thingys" I might have awarded more points.
PRESENTATION: 4/5 - Rear view would have been nice.
TOTAL: 25

Leon's Virizion
SUBJECT: 3/5 - Virizion has a lot of small details.
RESEMBLANCE: 7/10 - Unfortunately many of the details are not correct, the spikes are too large and the legs are wrong, I don't really mind that it has red instead of pink but there's that too. All in all a good job but missing in some key areas.
FLOW: 7/10 - Until you get to the flatness of the legs it's quite good.
CREATIVITY: 1/5 - Some basic SNOT, I understand you can't really use many techniques in LDD but that's why most people actually built their entries.
PRESENTATION: 2/5 - THERE ARE NO PICTURES! There are "renders", but I don't like renders, you also lack a render of the back.
TOTAL: 20

Cody's Machamp
SUBJECT: 3/5 - I feel machamp has a lot of very minor details, not necessarily difficult to do but there are many.
RESEMBLANCE: 7/10 - I want to start by saying I hate those legs, next I want to say it is grey and has 4 arms, which is really what machamp is, it has many details including the belt and things on the head, the only things missing are MUSCLES! Not sure how you would make muscles in this scale but I feel the muscles are what make machamp machamp, not having them really lowered the score.
FLOW: 6/10 - I hate those legs, look at your legs, now look at machamps, now back to yours, don't you wish machamps legs were attached to the body like yours? I do. I also feel you could have used some round pieces to make it look less like lego.
CREATIVITY: 3/5 - So that's how machamp uses "Bullet Punch". The guns are nice and the aweful legs are also an interesting technique (even if they should be on some sort of sprawling lizard instead of a wrestler).
PRESENTATION: 5/5 - Very nice pics.
TOTAL: 24

Cody's Heracross
SUBJECT: 3/5 - Not sure if heracross is that hard but I like bug types so i'm giving you 3/5.
RESEMBLANCE: 7/10 - OH NO! THE RETURN OF THE SPRAWLING LEGS! Oh wait, heracross is supposed to have sprawling legs, carry on then. The horn is too big and is the wrong colour, you're missing many details (antenna, details on the arms, eyes) that i've seen on other lego heracrosses, and it looks too deep (if you know what I mean, from the side). Nice effort all around but some of the details are wrong/missing.
FLOW: 7/10 - Tall horn, wide arms and legs, skinny body, you can do better. Giving him a wider body would help with flow and resemblance IMO.
CREATIVITY: 2/5 - Sprawling legs that look accurate, also some SNOT work.
PRESENTATION: 5/5 - Still very nice pics.
TOTAL: 24

Hank's Terrakion.
SUBJECT: 2/5 - It's rather large and basic, the head is somewhat complicated but other than that a rather simple build.
RESEMBLANCE: 6/10 - The front half is nice, the head could use more detail and the front legs could do without the minifig leg, but overall the front is good. The back is just bad, it looks like it was thrown together last minute so you would have time to enter it, if you had simply copied the design for the front legs it would look much better.
FLOW: 6/10 - Read above, front is good, back is bad.
CREATIVITY: 2/5 - Swords are nice, other than that some basic SNOT.
PRESENTATION: 3/5 - Overhead and front views, no side or rear views, which would have been nice as it appears the sides are not mirror images.
TOTAL: 19

So, yeah, looks like tracy is in the lead.

Anyways, anyone else going to judge? We had tons of judges for february but ended up not needing any, surely some of the people that were going to judge februarys contest could help with march.

Thanks for judging! You were actually quite timely, as I just posted this thread this afternoon. I was under the impression that we had several judges... was I wrong? Can anybody else step up and help out? I know there are a lot of entries...
