Scary Pokemon for October!
Join to comment
 Group admin
October is the month for ghosts, goblins, and creatures of the night. Show off your spooky spirit by building the scariest Pokemon you can! In addition to the normal judging criteria, you will also be judged on the scariness of your Pokemon (worth five points). Also, the bonus points for having a vignette ONLY apply if the vignette shows your Pokemon in a creepy setting or if your Pokemon is scaring somebody for this round. Due date is Halloween!

So we can make any scary pokemon even though it's not type ghost or dark?

Does the pokemon has to be type ghost or dark?

Correct. For example, Golbat is kinda scary, so he would work. But you probably wouldn't get many points for scariness if you posted a pikachu (unless of course it was a horribly bloodied zombie pikachu, but I'll leave the scariness factor up to you guys).

If you want. I don't even know who's judging (I will if nobody else wants to), so it's hard to say how many points it would score compared to another Pokemon.

It's almost judgeing day and there is only 2 entries so far >:^(

I just wanted to say that I saw some judgeing comments and I KNOW the judge is going to say I need purple on my crobat.

purple bricks cover 2% of my lego collection so I had to use dark blue.

I'm just telling you.

If someone else will judge,I think you might win. If you still judge, are you going to take points of from me because I don't have any purple?

Not very many if I do. A minor color alteration such as purple to dark blue makes little difference aesthetically.

Okay, the judging results are up!

Unownrule's Marowak:

Resemblance: 7/10 The head and bone made this Pokemon easily recognizable, even though the body is rather generic.

Flow: 5/10 The studs on the front don't help in this category. The basic connections and square pieces used detract from the organic feel that a Pokemon needs.

Creativity: 4/5 Nice work in this category, the head design and custom bone gave you points for this.

Subject: 3/5 Not the hardest Pokemon to do, but there are lots of round parts on Marowak that would be difficult to build.

Presentation: 5/5 All the angles are there, and good, clear pictures are provided.

Scariness: 3/5 The Pokemon itself isn't too scary, but I remember when I first battled the ghost Marowak, and that was at least a bit nerve-wracking.

Bonus Points: 5 points for the scary vignette.

Total: 32

Christian's Crobat:

Resemblance: 8/10 Instantly recognizable, but a few details are missing. The color also hurt you here a bit, but it's understandable that you couldn't build it in purple.

Flow: 7/10 The different colored clips holding the legs on and the wings are a bit distracting, but there are some nice curves and minimal studs are visible.

Creativity: 3/5 I like how you connected the legs and wings, but nothing struck me as particularly genius.

Subject: 4/5 Crobat, like most flying Pokemon, is a pretty tough one. Especially since most acceptable colors for him are rare.

Presentation: 5/5 Nicely done, all the angles are there.

Scariness: 4/5 Golbat would have been scarier, what with that huge mouth, but Crobat is still a bat and is therefore pretty scary.

Bonus Points: 5 for the vignette.

Total: 36

Jacob's Girantina

Resemblance: 5/10 I could tell that it's a Girantia, but the squareness of it detracts from the full appearance.

Flow: 4/10 Again, there are some decent techniques used here for a clean MOC, but it's still a box.

Creativity: 5/5 While the cuban style hurt you in most categories, it gave you full points on this one. Very creative!

Subject: 3/5 Intricate, but an easy enough Pokemon to put together. Looking at a picture of it, I can see TONS of potential for building one.

Presentation: 5/5 Well done.

Scariness: 3/5 It's a huge dragon/ghost with spikes everywhere. That's pretty intimidating, but something about it just doesn't frighten me at all.

Bonus Points: 5 for the vig.

Total: 30

The winner is Christian, with 36 points! Congratulations!
