I've just seen the new Star Trek movie, I think it was quite good, but i think it lacked the profoundness of the series and the other movies, also the action was a bit confused. But I liked how the young generation of actors played their roles, that turned out very good!

I thought the movie was great! I found it to be a little bit fast paced and jumped ahead a little bit to fast at the beginning.. but once everyone came together and they started going after Nero it was just great! And what is it with Romulans and their super ships? It seems to be a bit of a trend now...

Also what did everyone think of the new Enterprise?

The new movie was good. I think that the USS Kelvin was a bit weird having no warp nacelles and the new Enterprises bridge was a bit over done but apart from that it was great. Also I agree that the action was a bit too fast paced...

Just seen on DVD the second time. I still like it very much, it's not the best but one of the better movies. The cast is perfect, there's many trek-like stuff and the movie fits perfect into the 21st century. Also the Trek-backgrounds isn't really insulted because of the timelinething. Of course, there are some problems, the worst problem for me is, that it's no fast, some calm emotional scenes e.g. after vulcan's death would've been better. Secondly, Nero hasn't enough background to be a great villian. All in all, there's much potential in the coming films.

Well, as far as the movie goes, it wasn't terrible. It had some very strong points. I think the actors who portrayed Sulu, Checkov, McCoy, and Spock were spot-on. (It was nice to see Leonard Nimoy as well) They also kept the Enterprise exterior relatively close to the original Constitution-Class.

The story was pretty good, I mean, once you get by the glaring inconsistencies like Vulcan being destroyed and Kirk being born in space and not Iowa. And speaking of Kirk, Chris Pine was terrible.

Special effects were definitely top-notch, but the lighting glares that JJ Abrahms was so obesssed over got very annoying. As soon as the writers on the DVD commentary said "we tried to make Star Trek learn something from Star Wars" I was at a loss for words.

In all, a fun movie, but to different from the others to make it a Trek fan's dream.

I saw the movie the day it came out, and I expected it to be terrible. When I saw this movie, I realized that this was not aimed for just Star trek lovers(geeks), but for all the people who like Sci-Fi Thirllers. The movie had a good plot, with a deranged Romulan involved, and a crew coming together. This was also a very funny movie. In Ulhura's quarters, things get a bit gross, but after that the movie is great. I'm looking forward to the sequel!

I saw the movie in a second time too, it wasn't so bad...
I appreciated the maneuvres of the space ships that look very agile and the enterprise's design that's very cool if confronted with nx class and the old constitution class...There are few things that aren't good, first of all: in an emergency so big Starfleet assign to the admiral ship of the fleet a crew membership of almost kids with only the captain with the right experience to pursuit a mission like this?
in second place, when timeline is broken like in the movie, Spock didn't return to his era to adjust things after Nero's defeat? He has the knowledge to do it and isn't in the stone age with no possibility of make a timeship...Third, Chekov has only 17 years old when starting the rescue mission...Ok he's a genius but isn't it too soon to be an officer yet? The other people seems to have at least 23-25 years old...
