Quoting LegoTrooper 101
Welcome, one and all! I have invited you here because of your dedication to keeping Classic Space alive and (of course) your skill in building! Have fun, and keep MOCing!
This is indeed a great theme idea for a group. But I'm wondering: how come you created this group, and yet you don't have any Classic Space themed MOCs of your own to show us? I really wish you could share with us your creations in that theme (if you have any). Permalink
To enter the completion you need to build a Classic Space vehicle with between 30 and 100 pieces. You should also build two alternatives from the pieces as you would find on the back of a CS packet. In the spirit of CS your vehicle should not be focused on war or military themes; think exploration, mining and research. In terms of style please draw your inspiration from CS, although Futron, Blacktron, Mtron and Space Police themes are
The vehicles will each be scored out of 40, with 10 points being awarded to each of the following areas.
Design: as opposed to a simple aesthetic CS should be judged on the principe that looks follow the function of the vehicle. High scores for beautifully formed crane arms and radar dishes and not for fancy lights, spikes and arabesques.
Piece Selection: in those 30-100 pieces there should be enough multi-functionality to build at least 2 other different models (as you would find on the backs of a CS packet). Make great alternatives and score high points.
Playability: can your vehicle divide in two, has it got hinged launch pads or a cool claw? The more inventive the play features the higher the score. Remember your vehicle should be sturdy enough to swoosh and roll along the front room floor.
CS factor: how close to the CS styles does your vehicle get? If possible it should push one of the original design schemes further than the original designers to get top points.
We are also looking to acquire some CS pocket money sets as prizes. Permalink
