How and where to vote! (psst, not in this group)

Here’s how to have your voice heard and vote for the 2010 MOCie Awards!

First, you’ll want to go through all the nominees and find which ONE in EACH category you think deserves to win that category.

Each MOCpages member may submit ONE ballot for the MOCie awards. We will NOT be taking time out to sort through 200 different emails with people changing their minds. Once you hit the SEND button, that’s it. No refunds, exchanges or substitutions, so be SURE that your ballot is correct BEFORE you send it.

Send us your ballot with your vote for EACH category to mocieawards@gmail.com.

The nominees will be posted within the next 24 hours (we’re just finishing off some small details and getting final approval on the list).

Any questions?

05-06-2010 EDIT:

If you've already sent in your ballot, don't worry about this. If you have not yet sent in your ballot, when you do, PLEASE include a link to your mocpages homepage and your name so that we can keep track of who has voted. It should look something like this:

"Chris Phipson http://mocpages.com/home.php/10716

Moccer of the year..."

Thanks everyone.

now nominated for the "funniest moc" category?

I don't mean to sound like a noob, but...

Can we vote for one of our own MOCs if it has been nominated?

While some people don't want to vote for their own mocs because they feel wrong about it, theres NOTHING against it! Let's put it this way, who do you think Obama voted for in the presidential election? Exactly. If your moc is on the ballot, and you feel it's the best, then by ALL means feel free to vote for it! Use your judgment.

OK, ADMINS, I noticed in the opening remark, you tell us where to send the ballot, but how do you know who it is from? Someone could easily create false e-mail accounts and spam the vote. Just thinking out loud here.

If you've already been nominated, what would be the point of spamming the group with MOCs in an attempt to gain more votes, which in turn would turn away ballots in your favor?

Well actually Chris DID say that we would be able to post our MOCs if they were nominated. So I think that's what he was referring to.

When's the deadline?

I'm guessing the deadline would be the same date as last year. I believe Chris posted a link to last year's Mocies.

I'm not sure what Chris would say, but I'm guessing we're going by the honor system here.

SIGH! Okay I dug through some posts to find this for you. Chris and the rest of the staff haven't agrred on an exact cut-off date HOWEVER, Chris said the ending date would probably be the beginning/middle of June. How's that?

You're right Bones, I forgot to add that little bit to the instructions. I'll go back and edit it in a few minutes here, but for those reading this comment...

Please add your MOCpages name at the begining of your ballot (if you haven't sent it already that is). So it should kinda look like this:

"From Chris Phipson

Moccer of the year...."

Thanks for reminding me on that one... it's been a long week hahaha

One: Yes.

Two: Yes. If one of your creations has been nominated, please add that creation to the group. If you're nominated for moccer of the year (in your bracket) you can add one creation of your choosing.

I just talked to Kelso about this yesterday and we agreed on the Wednesday after brickworld (June 23rd) as being the final day for votes. This will give people who just learned about the MOCie awards at brickworld (cause you KNOW we're going to be plugging it to anyone that will listen) to have time to go over the ballot and get their votes in.

I just have two questions;
First: do you HAVE to send the "ballot" by Gmail, or can you send it with another mailing thing. I personally don't have a Gmail, so I was just wondering.
Second: I was confused on the voting part; do you give a vote for each category, or do you give one vote overall?

1) You don't need a gmail account to send in the e-mail. Just address your e-mail to mocieawards@gmail.com

2) Give one vote for each category.

3) Don't forget to add your MOCpages homepage along with your name in the e-mail.
