Now that this thing is started...

Immediate action must be taken!

Sumerian and Assyrian troops are being sent to immediately secure a permanent line of defense along the Iranian border. I will be quite dense, with large bunkers, maybe even Atlantic-wall style gun turrets. We know you'll be getting up to all sorts of trouble, Mr. Hussein. We're watching you like a hawk with an infrared night-vision electron microscope.

I guess it's official. Anyways, time for some background on this unlikely union of states:

In 2014, Greece and Turkey went to war again, this time over a large misunderstanding involving territorial claims and several shot down aircraft. By 2024, people were generally tired of the fighting. To avoid the destruction and death the war caused, people started coming up with ideas on solutions as the governments hammered out a cease-fire agreement.

Eventually, a man claiming to be related to the Byzantine emperor Constantine XI emerged. It was commonly thought by the Turks that Constantine had died leading a last stand against the Ottomans in 1453, some Greeks agreed. However, a small portion of them believed an angel had taken the emperor to safety right as the city was falling, and that one day he’d come back to re-take it. Everyone else thought this claim was completely false, but it didn’t stop the claimant. The man, calling himself Michael Palaiologos, said that he was related to the old imperial line from the Palaiologan rulers of Montferrat, in Italy (because if one son was an emperor, the other had to go be important somewhere else). After they lost the land to the Gonzaga dynasty, they had seemingly vanished into history. But now, seeing the opportunity to restore long-lost glory, Michael Palaiologos had come forth from being a banker in southern Greece.

The two governments had an insane idea. To stop any more disastrous wars between Turkey and Greece, the two nations would unify under the rule of Michael Palaiologos, and turn their destructive energy outwards. The two nations were made into a constitutional monarchy, with the new Emperor Michael X Palaiologos as but a figurehead. The Emperor had other plans, though. Through careful tricksy-ness and falseness, he had gained in his years as a banker, he gathered power, and by 2031, it was the new Senate that was but a figurehead. This new nation was named the Roman Empire, as it had been in the past, rather than the 19th century invention of the Byzantine Empire. Michael the Tenth oversaw the restoration of many ancient buildings in the capitol, Constantinople/Istanbul/Tsargrad/Miklagard/Rumiyyat al-kubra, and encouraged Greek-Romans to move there. The Turk-Romans had their suspicions, but things went well. And thus, the empire was ready to expand, a democracy gone nearly-absolute monarchy.

Victory for old style regimes! And I, bringing you this information, happen to be the Megas Doux (Grand Duke, one of the coolest titles ever) of the Empire. Call me John. Time to finish that tank...

I do believe I'll start with a push south to Novosibirsk, Novokuznetsk, Irkutsk and territories nearby.

Following arrival, sealed orders require the formation of a defensive line around five hundred kilometers to the east and a general assimilation of the captured territories.

Then, west. To Yekaterinburg and Astana, and then North to prevent encirclement.

Using a combined force of nearly 100 HAT-1s, 200 GAP-1s, 200 GAF-1s, and 30,000 PCU troops, the Pacific Union is pushing into Montana, New Mexico, Arizona, and Nevada. Conquest is estimated to end in as little as four weeks to six weeks, seeing as there is no military there.

Also, a group of Nimitz-class carriers numbering in three and a group of Calahaw destroyers numbering in 35 are being sent to Japan. We are not declaring war, but would like to become allies with you. We'd also like to become allies with Weagle, Awe, Cliffe, and John Dawn.

Peruvian forces have also made a push for PCU today, taking a small portion of Brazil. That is all for today.

In 2014, the United States of America collapsed as President Obama was elected to a second term and mass riots occurred in cities. With the collapse of that, the former United States was now controlled by factions.

In 2018, a young man named Nick Shelton formed a small rebel group named the Pacific Coastal Protection Unit. It's job was to protect the Pacific Coast from danger.

In 2019, the PCPU waged war with rebel factions inside its borders. After this, the PCPU had strong control over the population, stopping riots almost before they started.

In 2028, they PCPU changed its name to PCU. They went to Hawaii, and captured the ships there. Using machinery there, they built the PCU Navy.

In 2034, as other nations started to form, the PCU started to settle down, and try to contain its borders. However, when other nations expressed their want for conquest, the PCU stepped up its efforts to have a considerable distance between the border and capital.

My experience in strategy games shows that the typical strategy is a mad rush for any and all territory. Mainly because neutral, non player countries tend to be either weak or nonexistant.

Well, usually after that I build myself the Fortress State and let everyone else kill each other off, but I suspect eastern europe won't be high on anyone's agendas.

What're the rules for covert intelligence missions?

New Laws have gone into effect in the PCU as of today.

1. Military service gives you a large discount on college and after-military education.

2. All males are required to serve 5 years unless they have a medical condition, or are unfit for battle.

3. Half of the female populous will be required to serve 2 years in the military unless medical reasons or unfitness prohibits them.

4. Protests and riots are not very strongly liked in the PCU, and PCU Riot Soldiers are always on the ready. Beware.

You do realize this is in real time, right? If you're going to fly to America, it will take 12 hours in both this world and the real world. You don't absorb countries, like Nick said. Imagine Mexico "absorbing" Belize. It wouldn't work. It'd require months of diplomatic work if they say yes, and knowing most regimes these days, they'd say no, and you'd face a months long campaign. In the original group, we PCU have been fighting rebels in Peru for 5 months now, and that's short for a real-life rebellion.

This is exactly why we need training. And very clear rules.

HAT-1s in Eastern Peru met little resistance today as they continue to penetrate Brazil. Peru is 95% finished, but PCU Intelligence senses something is still going on there.

On the home front, the PCU sustained 7 casualties as they moved through Nevada, Montana, and New Mexico. Fighting was especially rough in Montana, where men in the mountains fired at us with sniper rifles. Estimated capture time of the states of New Mexico, Nevada, and Montana is one month. It's only that short because of the loose government there, and the civilians who live in poverty want a better standard of living.

It turns out that merrily charging across fifteen hundred square miles at the first opportunity isn't such a great idea, even if the people you're invading aren't putting up much resistance.

The Alenian advance has ground to a halt nowhere near its destination, to await the fuel trucks and spare engine parts that got left behind.

And perhaps invading Kazakhstan wasn't such a great idea. That bit'll get cancelled, just as soon as the revised orders come in Yekaterinburg and Astana will be safe. For the time being, of course.

The PCU counted its army today and we have found that we have 4,000,000. However, most are ill-trained as our trainers simply couldn't handle all of those gang members and stoners who joined the military. Out of that 4,000,000, only about 2,000,000 are well trained military personnel.

Using that army, the PCU is moving 1,000,000 troops into the Gulf of Mexico. The are tasked with making a beach landing on Texas, and then moving towards the PCU troops heading east. The landing on Texas will take place on May 2. Until then, GAP-1s and GAF-1s are fighting the good fight and bombing targets and eliminating communications on the coast.

Much like his own people have been doing quite energetically. You're not exactly innocent either.

The moment they find what they're looking for, they'll be out and away. Promise.

They may need to hijack some trucks, but they'll leave money and/or valuables as compensation. After all, secret projects funded with gold attract far less attention than those funded with blood.

You're a busy bee, taking over countries right and left. Get ready for the costs to come in... and the pesky rebels to spring up. Speaking of pesky rebels...

100,000 Roman soldiers have invaded the Republic of Macedonia under the pretense that it used to be with us... like 900 years ago. Anyways, 100,000 with air and armor support should be enough to crush the Macedonian standing army of some 14,000. By the time they activate the some 60,000 reserve troops, hopefully they're country will be on the verge of collapse and we can witness poorly trained conscripts doing what they do best: surrendering.

This should take about two weeks at most. Most of the army is Turkish, so you know they will be some intense fighting from both sides.

And on another note, we have begun building more factories, medical clinics, and civic places like school's and such.

Must have been building those for some time.

Always could use more. We keep the territory of Britain and begun with 6,000 troops going over the entire area of britain to take all rebels out. On another note, we have made land fall in New york. We have sucurered a beachhead and are sending in reinforcements. Yes, this is costly, but is worth it. Also, we replace the fuel plants with hydrogin, wind, and solar plants. The other nations I asked to join are now given 2 days before a attack force will be launched.

A small covert operations unit has been despatched to the Berlin region of Germany.

Of course, being a 'black' operation, this comment doesn't really exist, and the covert raiders who don't exist either are wearing nonexistant uniforms stolen from a different faction. Exactly who this other faction is is unknown, because I doubt they'd take kindly to me dressing up my black ops in their uniforms.

That's not how it works, dude. When you announce something, you announce something.

When it comes to covert operations, you initiate the operation first, then state its completion and await for an admin to confirm its success or failure. His decision, of course, is based on all the details, which must be e-mailed or Flickr Mailed to him.

PCU wishes to formally inform the Scandinavian Socialists, as well as other nations, that the PCU has made plans to capture the East Coast, and released them last night. PCU is not so fond of a nation who can cross the Atlantic and take over the United Kingdom in a day taking over our lands. The UK is a very high-tech military nation, and it would take months, if not a year, to take over the UK, not a day.

What happened to the British army, and the Royal Navy, and the Royal Air Force? You can't just walk around invading people like that, there WILL be resistance to these things. I think someone needs to go back and understand what we mean by realistic.

Anyways, Macedonia goes slowly. It's a mountainous region, perfect for helicopter. The Macedonian air force has a squadron of Mi-24s that are proving worthy opponents to our old T-129's from Turkey, but we have them outnumbered, they should fall in a few days if they're not hidden well. The Macedonians are proving effective at fighting guerilla style, but 14,000 can't hold out against large amounts of bombing and a much greater amount of the Roman army forever.

In other news, the collapse of all the economies of the middle eastern nations (Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, the U.A.E, Qatar, Oman and Yemen) it has been decided that all of these nations will join together to form the Islamic Persian Regime. Why'd they run out of fuel so soon? Well, it turns out that following last year's taiga combat exercises, someone in Supply forgot to order a refuel. Since the vehicles were in storage over the winter, nobody noticed until it was too late.

Good. In that case, the PCU is launching Operation Murus. The former contigious United States of America have now been targeted as PCU lands, and any attempt to interfere with the operation will make you have an immediate =( from me.

The Operation consists of the PCU taking the rest of the contiguous States, and taking the rebels out from the outside in. Finn, this operation was in place before you landed, so don't think I only did this because you landed on America, you only sped the process. While PCU troops are taking the rebels out, Naval and Air forces will patrol the water and skies around the PCU lands, and make sure that our land is kept as our land. Baja California will also be targeted. The entire process should take 4-6 months, as the rebels are mainly organized at a town level, and not as regional or statewide levels. Plus, we figure they'd rather join the PCU then get blown to bits, but hey, stranger things have happened.

In Peru, the rebels have been defeated, and the PCU garrison there is now moving into Brazil. As 45 miles have already been taken by PCU tanks, the infantry will be ferried to the front line, and then march into Brasilia, hopefully making a peace deal. If not, well, looks like another 6 month long rebel take down.

In the Pacific, the PCU fleet is only 11 hours away from reaching Japan. The PCU diplomats aboard would like to make peace with Brendan, as peace is now beneficial. Two Calahaw class destroyers with diplomats aboard will be breaking off from the Pacific fleet and going to the Philippines, where the PCU will be meeting with the Christian extremists there to also work out a peace deal, which is already 99% secure.

In Malta, the PCU troops there are wary of their surroundings, as any PCU help is a long ways off.

Covert ops have taken hostages in the main offices. Our task forces are making land fall with reinforcements of 14,000 troop and 9,000 APC's and tanks making landfall. The invation has begun. The coverts had already securered the nuclear missile bays. And our air force is tanking it out over the skies. Casulties are not high on our side.

A Third of the 50,000 troops in Peru will be going to Columbia to annex it into the PCU. As rebel activity is VERY high there, a very bloody battle will probably end up happening.

In the Pacific, the PCU fleet has departed Hawaii, and will arrive off of Texas on Sunday.

Very well-ah! And we're not "alleged", we're legit. We rule land that was ruled by the ancient empire, and we have a descendant of the ancient rulers being our own ruler. That's more of a claim than anyone else can make at the present time (Except maybe Italy, if they go back to Latin-speaking, which seems unlikely. Italians stopped trying to rule everything in the 40s..).

Meanwhile, the cities of Bitola, Ohrid, and Strumica in Macedonia are under our control, with Prilip and Struga under attack. The war goes well, and the disorganized Macedonian military has inflicted minor losses on us. As we advance north though, they fighting should become more intense.

There has been a change of plans in the SRGL. Citizens and the military are preparing to cross over Lake Michigan in order to give the PCU the territory they desire. However, infrantry have already moved into WV on ATV's. Resistance is sparce due to Neo-Nazis who have dominated the area pledging allegiance to the invaders. If all goes as planned, the region will be under control by early Friday. Navy gunboats are also moving from Fort Mackinac naval base and into Lake Erie, although the final destination is unclear.

West Virginia has fallen faster than expected. The Neo Nazis had eliminated the rebels expected to hold out in the mountains. Now, western Pennsylvania is being invaded. Resistance is also weak, many locals have given in in hopes of a better life and jobs. Pittsburgh literally handed itself to the SRGL, hoping to turn around its fortunes like the Chancellor did with Detroit. How far the line has pushed is unknown at time of writing.

In other news, diplomats in Osea have been notified to inform the government there of possible Scandinavian aggression. The SRGL would like to use the seaway from Lake Ontario to the Atlantic to move warships onto the coast.

Gunboats are preparing to also attack Buffalo and take the Empire of New York by surprise at their weak points, due to build up along their border with The New England Republic.

Intelligence has also found out and is inclined to inform the PCU of the presence of the former USS Robert E. Finally, some news from the glorious Imperial Federation of Prusso-Egypt.

Unfortunately, I hath decided I must once again use those h@ted tan non-lego tank chassis. They shall be for the latest armored vehicles from Sumer and/or Assyria. Also planned is a Sumerian chariot. Historically, Sumerian chariots were, of course, much older than Egyptian ones, had four wheels and were pretty darn slow. It was more like a cart than a chariot. How I'm going to make it better in a modern analogue, I'm not sure. Open to suggestions from the glorious Roman Empire.

Egypt is looking into its own chopper for its Chariot Corps- it shall be a flying chariot, really. Many modern hilos actually use chariot-style tactics; making looping passes, although mostly because the larger hilos aren't good turners. In any case, I'm looking into buying and modifying a certain dino-attack helicopter set from the recent past. I may also look into some coast guard or police chopper sets to make gunships.

Germany appears to be majorly lacking in up-to-date military equipment, the big issue being of panzers. A new design is in the works, but in order to speed up the delivering process a deal will be struck up with the Romans for the production of the new tanks. Kaiser Friedrich Wilhelm V will talk to Awesome tomorrow.

That's all I can think of for right now...

Awe forgot Iceland was annexed

Finn forgot I didn't add territory in the process of being conquered. I was under the impression Iceland still has some resistance.

Na, it's all cleared, though no country is ever clear.

PCU has a =) as Texas has drawn the SS away from America. However, the Murus Naval Line remains.

The Chancellor, up all night upon hearing the SS was about to start a world war, breathes a sigh of relief. As does all others informed of this aggression. Diplomacy shall continue in said countries on Friday.

(Personal commentary: I posted my last comment just before I left for a Luau. I honestly was thinking that Finn had just started a major war. Luckily, it will be much smaller)

Thou hath been freed from the chains of sin! Papua is "freed", and by that I mean forcefully annexed into the Palawani regime. 30,000 troops will remain until things settle down, and will be slowly trickled out over time. Just as troops are withdrawing, an equally savage group of pastors are being sent in to assure that the new Palawanis conform to our theological beliefs.

On another not, the God King would like to inform the United Malaysian Nations of their alliance with the PCU. So don't try anything.

You fool, you are acting silly among us great leaders. Claiming lands that do not have value, you will be inevitably crushed like the western pigs. The Persian-Islamic Regime is declaring war on the SS pigs. You shall burn with the west. For if anyone shall be invading them, it shall nations of Islam.
Allahu Akbar.

On another note, you really play you charactor well. :P
