Not bad. Ther're more than enough Star Wars stuff flooding the Lego market. We need space for classic themes.

yeah i think its good that they are ending it. or else if they keep going on they'll have to make more made-up star wars things kinda like clone wars just so that they can have new sets.i will miss seeing the newest sets though...:(

The one theme I want is a zombie themed line of sets. Thats all I ask for. Zombie themed sets. Wouldn't that be awesome?

This has been known for a few years, 3-5. anyways i think it'll be a good thing, i mean looking at the sets coming out in 2010, they don't look all to awesome. I think its time Star Wars legos ends and a new better theme takes its place. (Halo or modern warfare or classic space)

TLC is never going to make either of those because they are war based themes. The person who made TLC vowed he wouldn't let them make war toys.

Still starwars is war based too only science fiction and after that i dont see the difference between starwars and halo..

The license has probably already expired a few times, LEGO will simply renew it if it's profitable to do so. If it stops the flood of Clones with pencil markings on this site then maybe it's for the best if they don't renew it though!

Tis a good time to end it. I mean SW is probably one of TLC's best selling lines ever, but you can see they are running out of ideas...

No they aren't running out of ideas! There are many more ideas! They can build sets from the season 2 episodes! Besides, they can't afford to loose their best theme and they will probably renew the contract. It's probably a rumor.

No it's not! They don't show the credit thing that the people here are fictions and the battles are too, the battle were based of of real battles! Like the Ryloth thing. That was based of the french revolution! They are renewing the contract.

I doubt they really will end making the sets... both LEGO and Lucasfilm or whatever their licensing thing is are pulling in the cash from this, they most likely won't want to stop. I heard that at Brickcon, from someone with ties in the company. Forgot his name, but he was important.

I heard somewhere that at some conference thing that someone asked lego if they are going to make halo lego. The guy at lego said that they are talking to another company about that.

if TLC and Lucas arts wanted more money, they'd just go back about 10,000 years in the starwars saga to the Golden Age of the Sith with all the Mandalorians and Bounty hunters or go to the New Republic after the last Star Wars Episode to the Thrawn books or somethin

It's in both companies best interests that the license be renewed. I can't look at the cash books or anything, but I imagine LEGO Star Wars sets and games make a whole lot of money every year...

It's true though. Lego has run out of Star Wars ideas, and with no new movies, no new ideas, meaning all they have left is remakes of old sets.

I'm really laughing my face off right now. How could anyone immediately believe what a WIKI EDITABLE BY EVERYONE says? Brickipedia has a lot of fake information, put on by mostly 8 year olds. Besides, it's all a rumor, and the Star Wars line is a money fountain for The LEGO Company, so I bet they will renew it anyways.

We are missing LOTS of minifigs and sets for the Star Wars theme. There are many ideas left, such as events of the movies, scenes from games, and many more things. They can't ever run out of ideas unless they've done everything already. Keep this in mind, we never know for sure, but chances are very high that the contract will be renewed.
| March 12, 2010, 4:58 pm
If this is all true than any still put-together sets you may have (Like my older star destroyer with the minifigs inside) will spike on the market and you find yourself needing one or two pieces from bircklink.com and SHAZAM! The price for, let's say, Luke Skywalker is $50! Trust me, I've seen $10 sets that are discontinued go for some $100.

Thats true... I've seen the Halo sets also... I think Star Wars needs to take a bow and let the other more classic Ideas take over. They have been around for more the 10 years. And you can see on the Lego Star Wars market they have so many sets that dont even exist in the actual series. They should make one last item, or at least bring it back..... Jango Fett Slave 1!!!!!

so hard to believe, star wars is a huge money maker and towers over the entire lego market by theme ranking/revenue. The new movies will drive more ideas for future sets too.
