One thing is hard to make in Lego, and it's scary things. Scary lego MOCs are rare, and I want this contest to be a challege for everyone, including me. So, a scary contest?

I guess a scary contest it is! You guys better impress me, when I saw Maximes idea for a scary contest, I was so jealous that admins couldn't enter the contests. Oh well, they're my rules, I guess I have to follow them.

When the idea of a scary castle went up for the second contest, I went ahead and built a castle in two days. I still have it. The fun part is it has a working trap!

can it be like a star wars horor movie type MOC?

It can be whatever you want, as long as its scary, I will judge on the quality of the build, not the theme.

Here's my suggestion for the points system:

Fright factor = 10
Idea (originality, creativity) = 10
Technique (SNOT, unusual parts) = 10
Presentation (overall appearance) = 10

That would make a total of 40 points possible. What do you guys think?

Continuing my thought from yesterday, each judge would generate a point total for every entry, then those points would be combined. The entry with the most points overall would be the winner.

sounds perfect, great work, we'll use that system.

How bout a space ship, I won't enter, my idea and I've already built it. Here's the contest idea. Pick a single kit, you can only add 25 pieces to your model. You must build a flying ship out of an existing Lego kit with 25 free picks out of your own collection

that is a nice idea, but we've already decided upon a contest for this month, we're doing a scary contest, you can still enter if you like.

To Wes Pitter, I like the rubric. If all three of us (Thomas N, myself and Wes) judge, each creation will be out of 120 points.

Is it allowed to add a MOC that was already built before the contest was announced?

Oh, please don't let it be "The Reality Dysfunction"! Nobody will have a chance! Hey - wait. I'm a moderator. In that case, I say "no." Well, actually, "yes," because it's good to have high standards.

I'm not sure if Thomas and Maxime have opinions here, but I think it's fine to add something that wasn't built specifically for this contest, as long as it fits the contest rules.

Thanks Wes. In that case, if Thomas and Maxime agree, I would like to enter "The Reality Dysfunction" as my scary entry ;)

I think that would be perfect, I saw your reality dysfunction, it fits the bill of the contest perfectly, and you also has an amazing job on it, consider it entered!

just because he built it before the contest was made, doesn't mean we shouldn't not let him in. He obviously worked so hard on that, it would be just rude not to let him enter because it was "Too good".

Ok, I've put this off long enough, I can't get ahold of my admins, and no one else is entering, I'll just decide the winner now. Aaron and his zombie MOC put up good fight, with probably the best possible MOC to go up against Aliencats, but it wasn't meant to be. Aliencat, your MOC is the winner just based on its sheer size and level of detail, congratulations, you win the moderatorship, and your MOC will be featured as our club MOC icon.

Hey, Thomas! Sorry I've been AWOL. I've been checking my activity for news about this contest, but I haven't seen anything new. Congratulations, Aliencat, on a most impressively scary MOC.
