The info is kinda buried so if you don't know where to look... Here's the link to the thread. http://mocpages.com/group_conversation.php?id=12864&topicid=5418014

The tentative date for the end of the Olympics are is November 14th (give or take). You've got plenty of time.

I would assume not, but are we allowed to use brickforge weapons and gear for magic-punk?
The helmets are really nice.

From the rules:
"This is not a purist contest. Brickarms and Brickforge and the like are allowed and you're free to customize your parts BUT as with photoshop, use it sparingly. If we are distracted from the MOC with an overflow of customization, it could count against you in the voting."

for the record, it is allowed to post parts of the entry before posting the actual entry, right ?
(need confirmation here)

(not bragging but my entry is HUGE so it will take a lot of pictures to show it all, I figured it would be best to show those small details on other pages so the judges can easely see the magnificence of my entry in full prespective :O
I guess I can't expect the judges to check out those seperate pages though but I promise there will be plenty to look at on my entry page )

While building in the magi-punk genre I have realized how fun although unappreciated it is. I was thinking that maybe some builders from mocpages should make a small collaboration display at Brickworld 2011 highlighting magipunk creations. I don't know how one would do that, but 1. is it possible, and 2. Would any of the judges going to Brickworld 2011 care to join?I think that a magipunk collaboration build would be cool, unique and fun. I know this doesn't have to do with the Mocolympics, but I didn't really know where else to put this.

My build.for the Steampunk category has gotten a little "out there" So I am trying to make as many steam powered things in it as I can. Question is though, Can anything that's steampowered be considered steampunk? Example: is an Elevator worked souly because of a steam engine, is it steampunk? Thanks in advance to whoever can answer this.

I personally would consider it steampunk. So much so, that I will have one in my build as well. ;)

You're right, it is amazing lots of fun. I just finished mine; no more building time in it for me untill sunday. A collaboration would be great to see, especially in this genre. I allready suggested something in the line of that idea for BW, but starring our own sigfigs. VERY curious on your take of the theme, Tyler! I can't wait till sunday!!

Also, two more rounds after this one, that means only three themes left. Any sneeky suspicions? I'm betting on a MOC comparison finale. And I don't think we've seen life scale Lego so far neither?

Chris has basically handed me the baton while he's partying it up. Given that, I'm going to try to contact Yuri today. If I haven't heard from him by tonight, we might need a stand-in judge for the round, so as not to fall behind in the schedule.

Any objections from the other judges, should this turn out to be the case?

Still waiting to hear from Yuri. If he's having computer problems, or for whatever reason can't chime in by this evening, I've got Brian Kescenovitz willing to help us out. I don't think too many would dispute his capacity to make for a competent judge! ;-)

The judge switch is fine with me. Stinkin' Italians. If that's what you think. But tyler did "win" the youngest builder thing. So he'd have to be willing to put his potiental prize on the line for this.

That's gonna be Tyler's decision then. It's his prize and if he wants to put it on the line then I'm more than happy to judge it. If not, as you stated, it IS his prize so I wouldn't fault him for not. His call.

And kudos to both Spencer and Tyler, for doing as well as they did in the contest and also for resolving this prize issue with the minimum of fuss.

Some might say it's a little ironic that a good bit of mature decision making and gracious acceptance comes of deciding who wins the prize for the under-16 builder who progressed furthest, especially when you consider some of the 'dramas' in other rounds. Well done, you're both a credit to TFOLkind.

Why is there a fall lego olympics, i think one a year is good.

People usually try to cash in on the popularity of big events by making one of their own with the same name. It's not a new concept of course, people do it all the time (and not just in the Lego world). I used to get upset about it but now I just ignore it.
