I've done two Bricklink orders in the past month. The first was pretty small, just getting some select items; the second was decently bigger, getting lots of minifigures from the new line of Castle, along with some tiles and other pieces.

I do need to save some money for a better picture-taking set-up, but for some reason the minute I get some, a Bricklink order gets placed.

I recently ordered a Classic Space set with a spaceman on ebay, but it's shipping from hong kong in economy shipping so it'll be a while till it arrives. In the mean time, I can barely ever get to see the girl I like anymore, so therefore I'm probably gonna give up going after her and trying to prove that I'm a great and compassionate guy. Meanwhile I got the chance to illustrate some stories, and there's this cool girl girl in my class that I want to take to an art gallery/ coffee shop. High school has me preoccupied with tests and homework as well which is stressful. I feel like building something micro scale but not sure what at the moment. I just ate some cake with ice cream. Currently I'm laying in bed typing down all of this on a mobile device cause I have nothing to do except study but I already studied so I don't feel like studying anymore for tonight. But enough about me, how are you guys doing?

Alright! Thanks for the tip! Hopefully I may find a decent amount of blue pieces for the ship's main color. I have lots of grey to add as well. If it's a cargo ship, its cargo could be segmented into crates of different colors such as red, yellow and white. I'll think of something :)

I'm so disappointed by all the local photographers whose portfolios I've seen online. There are one or two who I'd say deliver professional images, the rest just blur or add grain to their photos to make them look "old fashioned" and "classy". Kinda tempting to become a photographer out of highschool rather than spend 6 years in university becoming an engineer, though I'm worried all the novices around here have ruined the career. No one values professional photography, because the "professionals" are total bleeps.

No one values professional photography, because the "professionals" are total bleeps.

I probably will. But the pay's really poor. I mean, if I spent 6 hours a day for six years practicing photography rather than learning to be an engineer, I'm pretty sure I could be making much more that the 45-70 grand an engineer makes around here. Or at least enjoying myself more.

Photography is not a career to build on. There are way too many photographers, and artists in general, to make it a well paying job. (unless you are really good or really well known, that is). That's why I decided to not pursue photography as a career and to give it a backseat as a hobby, instead.

That's what a lot of people are saying, but I can't imagine it's that bad. I mean, sure, there've been a lot of layoffs in editorial positions and fine art's worthless, but wedding, high-end portraiture, and advertising work is still around. Not to mention blogging, workshops, book sales, stock, stuff like that. Especially if you're good enough to market yourself above low-end, price cutting photographers.

Thanks, Justin! I'll tell you how it went.

My team made it to the consolation final where we played a strong team. We were leading until the 4th quarter, then we foolishly let up the pressure. They caught up, and with 4 seconds to go it was 52-49 for them. So I'm dribbling down the court and let a long shot go, but my check fouls me. Then with two seconds to go, I get two foul shots. The plan was this: I'd make the first one, and hit the second one off the side of the rim for our really tall guy to rebound and score. When I was about to shoot the first one, everything was dead silent, and the pressure was too much. I missed that one and so we lost the game. Man, that was the worst feeling ever!

It has a slight bluish hue, right? I can't really tell unless I scroll really quickly. If I'm honest, that was downright disorienting. I'm really not sure what color to use. What does MOCPages use on dark-background posts? Maybe a matt-white finish?

Yeah, see, I know nothing about sports. So when I entered in my friends' pool, I kinda expected to loose my ten dollar stake. Three of my final four are out of it, but thankfully, my champion still appears to be intact. Of the 15 people that are in my pool, eight had Michigan win. I have a chance of placing!

Not sure why you'd go to that place, though; the 'musicians' all look like twits, the people hosting it have the stomach to call a vandal an 'artist' and the pictures of the crowds make it look like a trampling waiting to happen.

Unless of course you're there for the drunken over-excited student girls rather than the 'music', in which case I hope you're being careful.

I know that feel man, copycats everywhere...

He probably was there for those of the female gender (fun fact: nobody really likes that "music", but developing a resistance to it has proven to be helpful in mating rituals. It is a chain reaction of manipulation.) and I trust his ability of not becomming a father for a few more years. Somewhat. Seriously, George, be careful.

Hmm. Well, my scar in particular is the result of taking on a more powerful enemy, but I guess that can also happen at birth.

Some of you who have girlfriends more on the metal/punk/rebellious side will know that they have piercings. On... Interesting parts of the body. That is all fine and good, if you are into it, at least while they are young. But certain piercings get in the way of natural birth... Or breastfeeding... Or defecation...

The enemy was inanimate. I was young though and the scar looks great, so I like it.

As for strangeness of piercings, I would not say so precisely (my viewpoint of piercings is NO), more like "interesting" places. Strange is an uneventful area of skin like a random spot on the cheek or on the leg or in the middle of the back somewhere. And we probably know that places I was mentioning are in no way uneventful skin formations.

Actually, I do enjoy that kind of music. The concert was one of the best experiences of my life, and I have had plenty of awesome experiences. The "vandals", I believe, ARE artist because they match the definitions of an artist: A person who works in the fine arts, creating paintings, acting, or producing music. Although the artists at this concert didn't have a guitar in their hand, they still created, from scratch, the music that they are playing. Creating music on a computer may seem like an easy task, but it truly is not. If you believe it is, I invite you to attempt to create some of your own.

No, I am not trying to change your opinion on EDM music. Your stubborn minds are already set. All I am doing is telling you all that I personally REALLY enjoy this music, and the 50,000 other people who were at the concert agree with me. It was amazing, if I haven't already stated how epic it was.

And the stunning women walking around in literal string didn't hurt my opinion either. ;)

I do not know your specific situation, but from a pickup point of view, girls who know you are not ideal targets..? Speaking from theory and personally disagreeing with it, but I would imagine you would not want constant awkward situations in future neutral interactions with the female.

It's not easy, as I have had some experience in this, but I will not say that it is anywhere close to the same level of actual music - I would personally give computer generated "music" the term beat, not music. Because only on the rare occasion is it actually musical enough.

I would not go that far though. Personally I think that computer-generated music is just incomplete. It needs somethign to go with it or it goes with something - like background music or combined with socially critical messages.

You were a bionicle kiddie.

No need to be ashamed. And you can not be one any more, because the same thing is now considered a bionicle builder and not kiddie. Like clone customizers are not clone kiddies any more and halo builders are not kiddies, because the fad died and a kiddie is a part of a community which is recognized by lesser quality from all its members. You know, like LOM or quest challenges or Hobbit contests.

It is odd that castle kiddies did not coexist with any other... There was even a short time without real kiddies about a year and a half ago!

The secret is in two pieces - ball-joint 2x2 brick and ball-joint holder 2x2 brick. Maybe some bionicle pieces in the middle...

The result is a gappy weird rockwork, the gaps of which you fill in with small plate-parts and stuff.

Helps if you have some rigid borders set before you start, like on the edges of a diorama or the top of a rock formation.

During the renaissance the Roman Catholic Church made the play "the passion of Christ" in order to convert even more people to Catholicism. Jesus was crucified by the roman people, not the Jews. But since the the Roman Catholic Church was essentially the remnants of the Roman Empire, the Catholic Church deflected blame for the death of Christ onto the Jewish people so that the Roman Catholic Church wouldn't have to tell people who was really responsible for the death of Jesus. In either case, I may be agnostic, but I still try to live by what Jesus taught instead of dwelling on how he died.

I said he died. And really, the only thing tthat really meant anything was that he did die, even though he could choose not to. There were many people who abused people's naiveness back then (there are many today, just different ways...), but what was different with Jesus was that he really believed what he was doing was right.

Jesus rose from the dead and suddenly the fact that he died was not much different from going on a three day vacation after being inhumanly tortured. Not saying he did go on a beach, but if you are going to die for somebody's sins, I am sure three days of being dead will not cut it.

It is like saying "Yeah, I can die for your sins, look! Ok, I showed I could die for you, but I am too busy being alive and not being dead for your sins."

I think that a real loving god would make a sacrifice larger than a few hours' discomfort and three days' time.

What? Just because Constantine sanctioned the church at one point doesn't make them one. I assume you are talking about

the old papal states. I'm curious where you heard these.

If anyone's got a claim to be the successors to the Empire, it'd be the Orthodox crowd. "Third Rome" and all that.

Jesus rose from the dead and suddenly the fact that he died was not much different from going on a three day vacation after

being inhumanly tortured. Not saying he did go on a beach, but if you are going to die for somebody's sins, I am sure three

days of being dead will not cut it.

It is like saying "Yeah, I can die for your sins, look! Ok, I showed I could die for you, but I am too busy being alive and not

being dead for your sins."

I think that a real loving god would make a sacrifice larger than a few hours' discomfort and three days' time.

Ignorance is unbecoming.

"You lot"? Talk about generalisations! Who exactly do you mean? I've never preached tolerance nor expect it.
I completely understand people are diverse and different a d further more disagree, however agreement means little in this context. I'm making an observation from a point of the minority. Not a stand of hypocrisy.

You can bet if I wrote a screed on how there were too many state-educated atheists around, there'd be people trotting forth like cockroaches in the night to call me all sorts of names.

Especially with the neat little way that 'too many' implies that maybe something ought to be done.

You're the one who made it us-'n-them, you can take your medicine like a man. Boy. Whatever.

As for being a minority, while there are a fair few Amerilanders around, not everyone here is one.
Being a 'minority' doesn't give you special points in any country other than the United States of etcetera.

State-educated atheists? What does that even mean, that the state go around telling everyone to hate the concept of religion, and insulting everyone? If so you're the very example of a "state-educated atheist"

Maybe my choice of words left a little to be desired. I mean it more like there are so many, especially talking about religion in the wrong thread. I'm not going to do anything about it, because I don't need to, also I can't, neither can you.

Maybe it is us-'n-them, or maybe its your own distorted perception. Either way, I have and always will be able to take what I dish out, it would be pointless being able to say something and not be able to back it or take like-minded "medicine".

The minority I was referring to is not being religious, rather than being an Amerilander.
And who better to view the whole than the outsider?

You're going on about how there's too many homeschooled Christians around; the alternative, of whom there are, thus implied, too few, being state-educated atheists.

Firstly I used commas, as in, for listing, so they were all separated.
No as I explained, you think i meant that due to a terrible selection of words. You obviously didn't read what I bothered to type, which makes me wonder why anyone bothers debating with you.

I read what you typed rather more thoroughly than you intended when you wrote it, evidently.

Let's have a look at it, eh?

"There are way to many Christians on this site. It seems like 95% of everyone on here is home schooled, Christian and American. "

Broken down:
"There are way to many Christians on this site."
Very straight-forward.
"There are to many".
This is not the sort of language used by a modern, inclusive, multicultural and tolerant and etcetera person. This, if anything, is the sort of language used by a bigot.
Say, a homophobic Christian racist.
Because that's how the story goes, isn't it? Certainly if you only read the news it's the impression you'd get.

"It seems like 95% of everyone on here is home schooled, Christian and American."
In the form of a list: one, two and three.
If it were seperate, it'd be one, two OR three.

So no, I'm sure you were expecting a facebook style "lol so tru" and no more, but this isn't facebook. Here, it isn't just the people who agree with you who hear your statements.

Because toleration is the next best thing to endorsement, and there's enough of this garbage going on elsewhere without me letting it slip past here.

The ever-popular jokes and snide asides about 'rednecks' or 'hicks' coming from smug brain-dead townies who couldn't grow their own food if their lives depended on it, for example.

You don't have to hate someone to criticise them, and if you don't bloody well hit some people when they misbehave, they don't learn.

The money-lenders in the Temple come to mind.

"Speaking the truth in love" is one thing, but it seems there's room for table-flipping as well.

Yes, toleration as it is put forth today is sad.

True enough about not having to hate to criticize, but I'd argue that the internet isn't the place to deal out those kinds of hits you described.

The money-lenders in the Temple happened once during His lifetime. Yes, there is a time and a place for it, but it certainly isn't often. The norm should be speaking the truth in love. There is room for it, but very little room.

Fair bit of it is that topic is one of my metaphorical 'buttons'.
I don't like hypocrisy, and I've seen a distinct trend; a Christian can make a comment, say, along the lines of 'I don't like it when people do that, but we're supposed to love and tolerate and hope they change their minds' and get shredded, but an antitheist can say that reading stories from the Bible to children is worse than child abuse, followed by saying that religion is the cause of all the world's evil, and be applauded.

So it's possible that Hayden stopped a packet intended for someone with more virulent rhetoric on the same theme, but at this time of night I've rather lost interest.

Jesus was not physically crucified by Jews nor Romans. The dirty work was more than likely done by lower ranking Roman soldiers, who were not Jews, and were also not Romans - the actual Romans who lived in the holy land at that time period were only ones in positions of responsibility. These Roman soldiers would more likely be recruited from local tribes, people who would be the ancestors of some of the Arabs of today's world. So TECHNICALLY the Arabs killed him, although it also TECHNICALLY was the Romans' fault because they gave the order to kill him, and TECHNICALLY it was also the Jews' fault because they asked for him to be killed. What people don't get, is that the whole issue was made so big because the Roman Catholic Church were trying to find reasons to spread cruel antisemitism throughout their large masses of followers. Honestly it does not matter who killed Jesus, because he did it from his own will, and was a Jew himself. The first believers in Jesus were also Jews. The New Testament was also written by Jews, except for Luke. Clearly the Catholic Church's former stance on persecuting Jews because they are the "Messiah murderers" is an anti-biblical stance.

I use GIMP 2. (open source rocks)

I've heard GIMP's gotten pretty good, but I'm too used to PhotoShop's UI to get into GIMP.

I got to use CS6 for a contest - man was it ever painful going back to PSE.

I'll always use Cs6. Always.

Until they make a Cs7.

I think they're moving everything to the cloud now. CC looks fantastic, but I do prefer the simplicity of an outright purchase rather than a subscription.

I hadn't heard of that. And, Oh. I didn't "purchase" Cs6. >:)

The UIs are similar enough. Our teacher taught us gimp, but he said if we ever used Photoshop, everything would be mostly similar.

Hope you weren't affected - those things are scary.

I wasn't directly hit, thankfully. But a major part of town was. My goodness. I was out volunteering yesterday, and a lot of the fallen trees are 80-90 year old oaks. They are massive, and the houses that got hit were hit hard...

How were you affected?

Well, apart from not being able to drink tap water, I wasn't directly affected. By a lot of the town has suffered severe damage.

Well, the amount of people working out there is amazing; we've had power trucks from other counties show up to get the power back on. A lot of the fallen limbs have been moved to road sides, but damages trees are still standing. The city won't look the same for the next 80 or so years; those trees were practically ancient...

That's a lot of subjects... How long does each course run for? A month?

Nope, We've been doing each subject over the course of 2 years, or 3 in the case of science, with 5 hours of lessons a fortnight.

Ru... is family. To demote him would be to drive an icy sword of cruelty into our very moral fibres.

I rather have Dragon Sword of Dominion than Stateman's quill. And I like Sword of Anduran or Ultimate Sword of Dominion even more, naturally.

Yes I did. However he can earn his moderator position back as soon as he quits XTFOL.

No. Ru is permanently Admin until he decides to give it up, or until he turns 20.

Anyways, we don't *really* need more than 2 admins. At this point it is really just a position of honor. So you don't deserve it :P

But all admins are members of the highest degree.
