An idea for after the contest...
 Group admin
After the contest, could I start organizing a monthly seed part challenge? Where we say one piece, and the builders have to make a MOC with that as it's centerpiece. Merely an idea...

Here's the basic concept. The seed piece was the tan arch. They had to use it in every build.

Eh, who would want Hero Factory sets as a prize :P

Well if you're willing to back up a contest for the TFOLPC then that would be great!

I'd judge, I don't have time to participate in more contests honestly

If you are desperate enough, you can say that you met a girl from Europe and want to make a romantic gesture, so you intend to write her a real letter, but need money for postage. Continiue by sending piece by piece the trophy. Plus instructions. Then you say, after completion, that you found out it was a dude.

Hmmm, when the MO starts winding down probably... I wonder if there's a way to do this without multiple rounds, usually smaller contests with rounds descend into chaos.

Each person builds three MOCs highlighting the mystery piece and then the person with the best series wins? Or something like that.

That might work... You must build three seperate MOCs, each using the piece in a different way.

Also another thought, what if we made a separate group for the contest, so anyone could join (AFOLs as well) and made it sponsored by the TFOLPC, as we will be providing prizes.
That way we gain respect and publicity.

Yeah, I like that. With those extreme TFOLs trying to call us crude and elitist we need to gain the respect of AFOLs like Kelso and Kenney. (Not that we aren't crude and elitist, but still...) That will also get us a lot more entries, hopefully.

Very nice idea!

The only problem with this type of contest, is that it is generally a one on one contest, so of course we can change that and make it everyone versus everyone? And maybe two rounds?

Yo make a good point, many TFOLs are put of when competing with AFOLs because they think they have less chance, and that the AFOLs will get the prizes.

It could bring a new golden age to our group (which seems to be evolving slower than younger groups). I remember the time when we got 10 000 posts, and when we became officially the most active group... Now we are hardly beating extreme TFOLs for two thousand posts...

We should show that we are the mature TFOL group, mingling with the rest of the community, not hiding away in our "Private club" convincing each other that we're awesome.

But I also agree with this.

If you agree on two opposing aspects off an event, perform the action twice.

Make a TFOLs only contest first, gain a larger community and attempt to get it to be more than just a group of people talking. Communial funding - who can donates and we quickly grow beyond our 20 euro budget we have now.

I have had an idea about a passive MOC-off point-gathering system, but that will not wok here.

Another idea - a category from each admin/mod? If we do seed part - one from each, having to use ALL of them in EACH creation? Multiple entries required is a great idea though.

As the only mod/admin still in the MocOlympics, I am obviously the most skilled and would easily win such a example. Cool idea, that'd definitely get some attention and hammer the rules into people's heads. Plus, if any of us are building a trophy for the winner we can post a photo of it before the competition starts.

I don't know, not only would using six odd pieces in each MOC lead to less awesome NPU, but I doubt that most people would possess all six chosen pieces.

A MOCoff, eh? I'd be up for that sometime after the M.O.s. Unless of course, you've finished your big project and would be willing to face me in whichever category I receive for the next round. (If I get to that round...) If not, sometime after the MocOlympics would be fine, provided there isn't too short a deadline.
As for your strong convictions, I can't really say I disagree. While I probably have the edge in categories like microscale, you are a very strong builder who can really nail the technical aspects of a MOC. In a landscape or dragon category, I've little doubt that you'd defeat me. Still, if we can either use the completely random M.O. categories or decide on something which we are both relatively inexperienced at the MOCoff should be interesting...
