One thing I've been thinking about for a long time, is that we could move our group off of MOCpages, like onto our own forum.

As far as I know, all the forums which are really good, like Eurobricks, you have to pay a ton of money for... not worth it. We really need a free forum, which means it won't be as good.

I've just started working on it, it needs a lot more work.

Unless Areetsa finds a better host site, we're using this one.

Here is my list of things that needs to be done for it:
- Make an actual banner
- Make icons for different ranks
- Make names for different ranks
- Add appropriate LEGO smilies
- Figure out how to remove the "Free forum:" thing, I've done it before but I forget how.

And I'm sure there are more things as I've just started, but its going pretty well so far.

I think I found the problem: the ILUG people have No. Taste. Whatsoever.

So: methinks /'ll handle the forum skin on this one, mmkay?

I'm thinking dark greys with dark blue highlights and white/light grey text. Something easier on the eyes than mocpages' harsh white.

I mean, white is fine sometimes, but it's not exactly pleasant after a while.

OK, obviously you wouldn't be an administrator usually, but I'm not sure how much a moderator can control so you can be an admin until we actually open the group or whatever. Or maybe we'll have four administrators. It seems like overkill, though.

Asterisks are traditional, but not very interesting.

My edits add a bit of colour:
for instance, someone coming on and venting their spleen by saying "My girlfriend is such a (female dog)!"
would be replaced with
"My girlfriend is such a (wonderful lady)!"

See, I've got 20+ little images made up for 'em (most of which are slightly edited rank logos from a project of mine, but eh) and I wanted to start from a clean slate.
