Contest

I got the idea of a contest. First of all, we need a subject. The winner will have his/her picture as the group picture and will have a link to the front page.

That's a good idea. I always wanted to make a landscape...

I think I'll change my beach to Weamea bay. It has a scary past of deaths and sharks.

Does anyone want to be a judge? You will still be able to participate. Someone judges every entry except his. I will judge it. Sounds fair?

I am just finished with my Weamea Bay. My new sig-fig is surfing on a wave(I do actually surf on ways as big as that). I will post the creation soon.

Vega Gomez, I think your Naboo landscape could be perfect for the contest.

After judging the two entries, Thomas N's Florida vacation has been voted winner!

To startup new conversation and to get the creative juices flowing again, I suggest the group have a little contest...a simple one: 40 piece challenge

That's a good idea - 40 pieces is considerable enough to make something interesting, yet small enough that piece choice becomes a priority. Although I completely agree that a contest yields great new creations, I'm afraid that this group is pretty much dead, and its more prominent members have either deleted their accounts or aren't active anymore. If you want an active group, iBrick has been going strong for years now, and I'm sure they would take into account your contest proposition. In addition, I might be less active in the next few years due to college - but if you feel like this group has the potential to be renewed, feel free to do just that, inviting newer MOCers, and organizing new things. If you feel like you can take the responsibility, you can even become moderator or admin.

I'd be happy to be a mod or admin. I'll do my best to keep the group active and interested until you all decide to return. Thanks!

Ok, great! You seem pretty serious and responsible, and your lego building shows great potential. I'll make you moderator for a little while, and I'll check every now and then to see how the group is running. If you handle things well, I'll promote you to admin! I forgot if moderators can invite people or not - if you think the permissions given by moderator status aren't enough, reply to this message and I'll get back to you.

Only admins can invite. I just tried. Thanks for letting this happen. It's up to you to make me admin. Either way, I'll do what I can with what I've got. Cheers!

If only admins can invite, then it would be hard to try and renew the population in this group and revive it as a moderator. Admin it is.

Thanks again. I want to make some new convo topics and a general layout of the group. Some plans on getting more activity and participation. So I'm gonna lock all the previous threads to not confuse.
