I've created this topic for those that want to talk about the B. of U.N.E. so that way I don't have to delete comments in the actual story.

Picture 1
-angle shot of pentagon (non-Lego obviously)
The day is September 11th, year 2101. On this, the 100th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York, the world is poised once again on the brink of war.

Picture 2
-North Korean parliament building
North Korea, having joined forces with China, India, and the Middle East, prepare a massive force with which they intend to invade Europe to gain the resources necessary to sustain their vast populations. This is not a war for the express purpose of dominance, but for survival.

Picture 3
-UN building
At the final official meeting of the United Nations, the Canadian and American delegates propose a radical solution: A mass, multi-trillion dollar colonization project, spreading the seeds of humanity across our solar system and beyond. This is our only alternative to Annihilation.

Picture 3
-massive colony ship construction dock in orbit (micro-scale?)
Over a 26 year period, 9 massive colony ships are built in orbit, each capable of holding half of a billion men, women, and children across the vast distances of space. Their destinations:
Hope: the Moon
Valour: Mars
Courage: Asteroid Belt
Strength: Europa
Respect: Titan
Determination: Tritan
Sex, Drugs, and Rock ní Roll: The Alpha Proxima System
Each carries the supplies for their long journey, and the necessary materials to begin a new life on their world.
They each begin their respective journeys in 2127.

Picture 4
-crash site of Hope
Ironically enough, the only ship NOT to survive its journey is Hope. Having a trip of only a day, it suffers a computational error and impacts into the surface of the Sea of Tranquility. There are no survivors.
Picture 5
-Colony ship approaching micro planet
In 2178, the colony ship Rock ní Roll arrives at the biggest planet in the Proxima Centauri system.

Picture 6
-Ship hovering over micro city
But as they break through the cloud barrier, it becomes obvious someone or someTHING had beat them to it.

Picture 7
-Captain shaking hands with tripodal alien.
The Proximans, as they were later known in the UNE, are friendly to the colonists, and understand the plight of humanity.

Picture 8
-aliens wondering what a stereo does
They offer up their nearest moon as an alternative to their planet, and the occupants of Rock ní Roll thank them graciously.

Picture 9
-large moonbase type settlement
By 2183, all colonies are up and running and more people are being slowly shuttled to Earths moon.

Picture 10
-UNE govít building
In the year 2194, the first official meeting of the United Nations of Earth and Her Colonies takes place. (The name is later shortened to United Nations of Earth, when all of humanityís settlements are generalized under the name Earth)

Picture 11
-arrows between planets and moons
A large intergalactic trade network is set up between Earthís Colonies and the Proximians. More colonies begin to spread from the original colony ships, and humanity grows at an astounding rate. It appears to be the beginning of a golden age of human culture, but alas, it was not to be.

Picture 12
-one of Ianís pictures
The Coalition of Planets, a vast empire spanning nearly a quarter of the galaxy, happened upon the Proxima Centauri system while a battle fleet was returning from their recent Crusade.

Picture 13
-shot of COP soldiers
Now, the UNE had run into aliens before, but this was different. In quite possibly the greatest coincidence in the history of the universe, the COP are also Human.

Picture 14
-burning city
Seeing their demands for surrender refused, the mighty armada pummelled the colony of Proxima Centauri A into radioactive dust. Colonists on other planets in the system watched in horror as nearly a billion lives were wiped out in an instant.

Picture 15
-Planetary defence ring
This spurred the greatest military build up in the history of Earth. A massive ring-like space station was created around Earth for defensive and ship-building purposes. UNE engineers threw themselves into the task of creating military technology enough to take on a force 40000 years ahead of them.

The fight still rages onÖÖ

This is what becomes of a very boring thanksgiving weekend. I may eventually get around to this.

I think you actually have to tell them to put your faction in, we don't have time to go wandering around checking all the little factions mentioned by each and every one of the hundred-and-ninety-three members of the group.

For instance, the 43rd Expeditionary isn't mentioned in any of the lists, and that's because I'm a lazy git and can't be bothered to draw up a Table Of Organization & Equipment for it.

Except much bigger.

And how would a ship that can carry 500 million people enter atmosphere? The thrust required to hold it up would be so great that it'd incinerate anything below. Re-entry would probably raise heat planet wide. I mean, a ship that carries 500 million people would be the size of the asteroid that hit Earth 65 million years ago.

Also, isn't Proxima Centauri 4 light years from Earth? You would think the COP would take that small distance and just go kill Earth while they're at it.

One hundred thousand people per cruiser. That's still massive. And I don't think Earth has the resources to build giant invasion ships when it can barely hold on to what colonies it has left.

That means Lea Kahn's clones or whatever aren't going to have any affect on the war for at least fifteen years. That gives us COP plenty of time to reduce the UNE to a handful of systems with little resources.

'Xept I'm pretty sure the cloning Kahn was thinking of was duplication of alien animal species from tissue samples, so maybe five years a sample.

Still takes a lot longer than just ferrying up the whole animal, if you ask me.

Well, in Star Wars Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Jorus C'Boath(clone) managed to glow clones in three weeks to three months somehow.... but that's highly advanced.

And this is more definitely not Star Wars.

I may eventually get around to this.

oh matt, how bout we meet da cop on september 1st 2239, the 300 year anniversary of WW2.

We meet the Tri Planet Coalition on Alpha Centauri.

Looks like I've generated some interest here...

When the time comes for the COP to get involved, you'd be best consulting me, because I'd like to ensure things are told the way they happened.

As much as we hate to admit it, the EOS played a major role in this for a while. Phaze and I are ret-conning them into Mongol-ish invaders who are out for mad l00t and artifacts important to their religion.

You'll have to check with Matt, he's doing the writing.

I just linked to a generic "literature group".

I've created this topic for those that want to talk about the B. of U.N.E. so that way I don't have to delete comments in the actual story.

Talk away, brothers/sisters/others!

Well, as SupCom of the 18th DSF, I'd better get in here so we're not misrepresented (or completely annihilated by our own writers, not to mention any names (DELTA!!!) how did that get in there?).

I can't really write about the E.O.S. seeing as I wasn't around this section of MOCpages when it happened.
