COP are The Enemy.
The Enemy is evil.
You need to kill The Enemy.
The EOS are The Enemy in a popular Trivid show.
Topics about them are mindless fantardery, and are to be treated as such.
MAC's is a popular fast-food vendor.
Not a weapon.
MAC cannons exist.
They launch deliciously fatty MAC burgers.
The Enemy eat horrible dry COPcakes.
Our MAC burgers are too tasty for them.
That's why they bomb the MAC's buildings first.
We eat delicious cupcakes. Any topic may be diverted to cupcakes with no penalty.
Being clever enough to divert the flow of conversation is all the reward one gets for it.
There is no ranking system. Every member is as important as any other member, except for the mods, who can get away with nearly anything, and the admins, who can get away with murder if they feel like it.
The admins are triggerhappy. Careful.
If El Presidente says it's time for a purge, it's time for a purge. No questions allowed.
Star wars laygoes are allowed.
For as long as it takes for someone important to come along and have a look.
Then they get kicked out.
Paint is allowed. Stickers are allowed.
Both get to stay for the same amount of time as the starwars.
Stickersheets are grounds for a swift kick up the pants, or as close as the mocpages group system allows for such an act.
We have slightly too many moderators.
Deal with it, it's not worth the effort to deal with the questions they'd hit us with if we went around randomly demoting them.
Posting in the "Ban The User Above You" topic won't actually get you banned.
Using medical terms to call someone something very unpleasant very likely will, though.
We have three admins. There was an election.
You probably didn't vote in it.
That's because at the time you likely weren't around.
This doesn't give you the right to demand another election.
Asking for a position of importance is also grounds for a swift kick in the pants.
Same for posting topics about the new laygoes that come next year. General Discussions exists for a reason, do some digging in the topics and you'll find it.
Asking for tey commants is also swift pants-kickery worthy.
Spy topics can easily get you in deep trouble.
Spamming has different penalties depending on what type it is and where it's posted.
Spamming the same topic over and over will get you banned for a few days or until the admin remembers about you.
Spamming the same post will net you a warning, if less than half the topic is composed of said post, or a tempaban if more than half.
Spamming a moc that keeps getting removed will get a warning.
Filling the group with all the trash you've ever posted will get you kicked.
Spamming 'check my new ----' will get a warning or a kick depending on how much of the group you fill.
Posting in General Discussions asking for help with a new moc won't get you anything negative.
That and random babble is what that topic is for.
Topics: post whatever you feel like, really. If it's TOO pointless, it'll just vanish overnight.
Editing: insulting people and then changing the post into something polite, if seen, will get... I dunno. Nothing. We're rather lax about the whole "nasty names" thing here.
We've all got our own personal themes that we somehow cram in. There isn't really much standardisation going on here.
Swearing: Britishisms like "Ar_e" and "Bugg--" will get you in trouble. Toothguy here comes from the Commonwealth and knows exactly what they mean. Just because they're not offensive to you doesn't mean they're not expletives.
Likewise, going into france and shouting "Merde!" loudly can and will get you in trouble there, just as it will here. Regardless, cleverly using obscure insults and euphemisms in foreign languages is fine. Particularly if, in context, they're not all that insulting.
Itane? Tua mater!
Letter substitutions: saying "$cr3w you" or "idi0t" aren't necessary. Using them to mask particularly nasty words will get you either kicked or tempabanned, depending on the words, or banned and reported if it's a repeat offense.
Now, for words like "idi0t" or "r3t@rd" you can spell them normally. Just like "n3rd".
The mods here are quite willing to let little things like that by.
For instance, "Oh man, I forgot to wind the car windows down, what a stupid thing to do" won't get blocked by us.
Modifications: this can and will be added to and adjusted over time. I'd post a EULA, but frankly, this is a three-person dictatorship. We'll do whatever we want, and complainers get "The Visit" from the Secret Po- well, if we told you, they wouldn't be secret, would they? Permalink
If you really want to get technical as Sammy and I have done, the COP actually use MAPD, Magnetic Accelerator Projectile Drivers. Just to avoid copyright issues if we ever finish the big game we're concepting right now.
Also, it's best you don't try to break Steel Curtain. We have a 1 strike 1 kick rule for normal members, 2 strikes 1 kick rule for mods (except the ones I really like), and no strikes no kicks rule for us admins.
