Here is the place to talk about our good friend, LDD. It's features, bugs, glitches, and bricks.

Hooray! They've added LU to the normal package, no more need to get it from 'other' means. But the addition of Hero Factory? Seriously? But then, people were asking for Bionicle on LDD, so it's replacement is as good as they're going to get.

Dude, hero factory is NO replacement for bionicle! The body design has been over-simplified to the extent that its near- impossible to have any variation between 2 models, and most of the parts have been reduced to the quality of McDonalds toys! I resent hero factory -.-

Well I've gone and touched a few nerves. Did I say that Hero Factory is as good as Bionicle? What I said was that it's replacing Bionicle. That is what LEGO has done, discontinued Bionicle and made Hero Factory. I agree that they are worse and LEGO should have continued with Bionicle, but they've killed it.

I love Bionicle (got EVERY set ever made), but I was really dissapointed near the end. You have to admit, it was starting to go down hill.

While this may be so, I still think the new body system holds a lot of potential. It means you can make the armor bits to clip on larger, plus you can combine the old Bionicle limbs with it as well. And you can't say its not an improvement from the first line of Hero Factory heros . . .

I just want to clarify something:
Chunk and Andrew, should I still use the DbM mode, or can I use LU mode? The only problem with LU mode I see is that they would need to be re-done to be deployed in WW. But it's up to you two.

You can import DbM creations into LU mode and vice- versa. Just start a new creation in LU mode, do file -> import, import your model, and you can work on it there.
Also, thanks to Lego once again doing away with more parts, MBS's will no longer be featured on DbM. I sware lego gets rid of every good part they feature on DbM within 3 months. I want my good windscreens back!

Or you can just go View -> New Themes -> DESIGN byME. LEGO does have a bad habit of getting rid of good parts.

I'm going to be using LU mode for the UXM-2s, and I definitely WON'T upload them to DbM.

I just found this in the Hump-Free Rates group.

[Quoting Andrew AKA Hump-Free
Okay, So Basically The Same Deal With Universe

Use The Following Line, ThemeAccess=LDDExtended

And You Will Unlock The Hidden Feature In LDD 4.1.6]

This is the new LU mode.

Awesome. I'll get it installed later this evening. If it is the same, well, whatever. But if it is different, it seems Lego just can't gives the whle picture.

Humpfree said that it's mainly just the colours and bricks they removed when they added LU to the normal LDD package.

I was one of the people who thought more bionicle parts would be a good idea. I never realised though they would remove so many other pieces just to give us EVERY hero factory part. sadly there seems significantly less skill required to create with hero factory parts, so much so I think I preferred it before.

Oh lord, not this again. If you were picking out the pieces for an order like this, and all the orders, every day, than you would want to be payed as high as they charge.

If your going to buy a custom model use Bricklink or Pick-a-brick. It's cheaper and really, who needs a box and instructions when you made the model in the first place and you have the LDD file?

new colors? last I checked, there aren't any new colors other than the ones already included in LDD 4.1's version of Extended.
...or are you referring to the "other" colors? I don't think the new version has those. if you want, I can send them to you.

give me a little while and I'll put together a creation with the extra colors.

I downloaded and saved the file, but is there a way to add the extra colors to the pallate?

unfortunately, no, at least not from what I can tell.

just color the part of the model you want to have that certain color from the bricks, then recolor it afterward. it's handy to store the colors in your palette so they're right there when you need them, too.
