The last thread was getting a bit long.
I'm in the MIT and this is my catagory:

Chris Stone vs MisterLego
Life Aquatic! Build a MOC that is set underwater. Any 'underwater' theme will do.

Indeed...
But I have to make a life size version of a minifigure hand-held object...
I got the basic design finished, then realized that it was too small...

Why must everyone get such good categories?
And I'm stuck with "Life Size Lego Object".
At least my entry is pretty much complete, but I still have yet to figure out if I'm correct about the scaling.
The handle is definately at least 1-2 bricks too short right now. This might just be an error in the overall dimensions though (the width and height are correct but the length isn't.
Hopefully that's the case.

So many categories I wish I had gotten! Mainly the wild west category and the heartlake city...

Finished my entry! (well, sorta, I'll probably smooth out a few bits here and there...)
Luckily the error was just fixed by adding an extra brick to the length, so I didn't have to completely rebuild it. (*.*)/

Just learned that my opponent has been sick.
As his priority, I think, is the bio-cup, and he said that his entry (due today as well) for that was not quite finished yet, I fear that I may not have an opponent, which means that I'd move onto round three by default.
Better finish that Attack on Atlantis, or at least take some pictures of it so that if I must steal any pieces (if I make round three) from it, I can rebuild it later...
Hopefully Nick is able to put something together!

Yes.
Like MCLegoboy said, use a light blue background.
The sand texturing is good, but would have looked better without the wedge plates.
The leaf pieces on the left don't really seem like underwater pieces... I'd recommend using the three leafed piece (the one with a hollow stud, not the bigger one) or flower stems.
Some bones by the skeleton? Those little claw/horn pieces could work well...
Leave out the brown.
Other than that, it looks good.

Dude, Mark toasted her! I'm just stating the obvious. :P

His MOC was more detailed but her MOCs were a lot different. Her build were focused more on the use of the pieces while his dealt with size. I don't like large build because you don't get a sense of creativity with small pieces. Large MOCs that always use small pieces end up not looking good because then there is too much detailing. Smaller MOCs need more ingenuity for the pieces used because that is all there is to look at and I can appreciate them more because of it. No doubt that people who build MOCs that are large have skill, but to me they are just not as fascinating to look at.

Actually, you do it in a different way. She doesn't use it for landscaping (I think, it's a new style of hers). Look at Jupiter and Saturn on her entry, and you'll see what I mean. I liked the rest of the build though.

http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/344363 - Stormbringer's last entry.

Eh, I still like LWC's more. It was a bit less detailed, but had some outstanding functions.
And Stormbringer's style won't work well in this category, it's way different from his normal MOCs in that he can't center it around having a sense of action, and he must make a very clean build for this time - his builds are a bit messier than LWC's, even though I like them a lot. Paul Vermeesch is pretty big on making MOCs clean, so perhaps LWC has a chance.
Of course, Stormbringer is likely to win, but LWC has some chance...

I don't think its new, but she uses it well :)

are you a city kid? (as such)

I've never seen her use it before, normally I'm used to a different style from her, which I much prefer. I just thought that the colors didn't blend well in Jupiter and Saturn.

If this answers your question, I don't own a goat, and I don't live on First Street.

Stormbringer has enough to do big and detailed. I think that's what will help him beat LWC Guy, who has a relatively small ollection.

this is just my opinion, you have expresssed yours, and now we can no longer argue :P

yeah, LWC does have a slight chance...

all I meant was, do you live in a city? it wasn't meant to be offfensive, I was just wondering how many landscapes you had seen IRL :P

Not really, and quite a lot. Anyway, I liked most of her builds, I just thought that certain parts seemed a bit rough and messy.

Congratulations on the free ticket, but it sncks that it was Nature that was on your side than your brick skills. I agree with Halhi, make a deserving MOC so it seems like your really were trying to compete with Stormbringer.

If you were to head over to the 2012 MOC Olympics Group, you would find a drama bomb has been dropped. Mark, whom I have come to respect more because of his take of the H. E. Double-Hockey Sticks Category, is making such a big deal out of his category. Enough has already been said there to him, but appearently talking about your last day on Earth is not vulgar, but a clown wearing a bikini offering you a banana is... o.0

What... Seriously, he is not building in his Story Category becasue of the ending line being, "So the moral of the story kids, is never trust a clown in a bikini who offers you a banana." and it goes against what he believes becasue he thinks it's vulgar.

Um... I am a Christian like Mark, perhaps different denomination, but he feels it is innapropriate and distateful and a bad image for Lego and MOCpages, and I never thought any of those things when I read the category. If Lego makes torsos and legs that create a bikini, and heads with clown faces printed on them, and they are compatable, it seems it would not be distateful to Lego or the MOCing community. He is also complaining he cannot make sense out of the category. He wants to bow out.

Everyone is respecting him standing up for his morals, but most are disappointed in the outcome of it. I think he's thinking to much about the category. And while I have never entered a MOC Olympics, I would try my hardest to do this category if it brought me to the next level. I didn't find it bad at all. I don't know what the big deal really is.

This is his first MOC Olympics and he has only complained about his last two categories. I can get not liking them, but it is a randomized competition, not much one can do about that. Sorry, but Perhaps Leda should have made it past Round 3.

After all of this, I can tell that Heath won't be getting Paul's vote...

Actually, I would think that, if it's such a big deal to him, that he could just ignore the word bikini in his entry, or something like that.

Well, too bad Mark isn't a kiwi, Leda could have modeled for him :D

Actually, looking back at the entries, I liked Stu's more, but I think Tom is usually a better builder (just look at his round 4 entry!) I still liked George's better; Heath's was big, but not very complex, unlike George's. And I still think that Tom will beat Heath in Round 7. Of the final four people, Heath got the lowest score in round 1. (and second lowest of the final 8)

George G's entry lacked his usual flair. he deserved to get knocked out for what he built.

Stu's entry, for me, was cool, and was my favourite out of the 2, but Tom actually outbuilt him.

I actually don't like Tom's building style.

Heath, category dependant, should win the MO.

Did you see Tom's round 4 entry? If he can build like that, he'll beat Heath. Heath's builds are too rough, and don't look as impressive.

Okay, we're not having a huge debate, you don't need to back up the reasons why you think this person should win or lose. I like Heath's stuff. I like that it's a little rough. I didn't like Tom's last entry, it was too complicated, and if you look at the grass work, it is a different color everywhere which almost looks like he was just slapping pieces together just to make the mountain side. I agree though, that some people's work has been good and bad, but in these competitions, it's all about just beating the person you are up against. It's not like other contests where everyone is in a group category building the same thing and only half the people with the best scores make it to the next round. In the Olympic Sports dealing with teams, it's not that you have less points than someone within another bracket, as long as they were beat and you got to continue on.
