Rebirth is about predominately space travel, and Variable "combiner" AEGAKS.

My plan after I take pictures of the Mini AEGAKS-903 "Ascent" with the Flight Enhancement Pack (FEP-903, "Sky Raider") I plan on adding that the Mini/Micro series is full of combiner AEGAKS and drone mechs.

I have a few questions. What scale are your proposed AEGAKS to an actual minifig? And how closely do you intend to follow to the storyline I have presented?

Most of my Mini-AEGAKS are 2-3 minifig tall on their own w/o the combiner armor and weapons. and the Storyline is a continuation of Evolution. Only the Rebirth of Mecha One on Earth has brought the lineage of the AEGAKS team back to earth's post-war areas. The drones have been upgrading and maximizing their capabilities somewhat similar to Azel's camouflaging ability and they've found the secret plans to Mecha One's Rebirth bunker, where Mecha One lays in a "sleep" state until the time for his Rebirth, and when the drones' uprising starts causing even more havoc and destruction to the already devastated underground civilizations, the new AEGAKS team comes back from space with their newly designed frames and combined forms to save the world once again from the evil chaos that Mecha One will soon bring to fall upon the lone world, hopefully, for the last time.

(does this proposition seem to flow and fit into your storylines for the AEGAKS series?)

To be honest, not really. There are several discrepencies with the story you have proposed as compared to mine. Also, being honest, these minis are not AEGAKS. AEGAKS stand for Advanced Exoskeletal Gyration Agility Kinetic System, the system that nuerally links the pilot to the machine within the special capsule, the pilot block, which houses the system itself. If your models are only 2-3 figs scale, there is now way these could be AEGAKS.

So, I'm guessing you're simply putting it the nice way, that I should just stop while I'm at it, and close this idea down entirely and leave you and the others to AEGAKS and stop trying to be creative? And doesn't Mini or Micro mean smaller version of the original. So in all truth, a Micro/Mini wouldn't really be able to carry a minifig. Just the imagination of the pilot sitting in the micro pilot block is not good enough?

I'm not saying that. you should stop being creative. You've got several very good builds. However, I don't feel that these models fit well within the style that has been presented. And yes, mini means smaller, but it also means that the scale is much smaller. I build mini ships, each one may only be 30 studs long, but the actual scale is much much bigger.

If you are going to claim a trademark name, then you should follow the trademark traits as well. I appreciate that so many people have built in the AEGAKS format, but the reason it is a format is that there is an understanding that the style, while flexible, will still be present.

I don't mean any disrespect.

None taken.

But I do believe that the models I've built can still be used as something similar to a mini-scale AEGAKS. The pilot block may not be a opening cockpit that fits a minifig, but it's still present. At least something along the lines of a pilot block. Due to my limitations of style of pieces, these are the best versions I can come up with for a simplistic model like the AEGAKS frames and ideas. But I suppose being Like something, and actually being something here are two complete things.

I'm sorry to waste everyone's time.

Again being honest, I don't feel that it was exactly a waste of time. You've put forth several good MOCs of small robotics. That in and of itself is impressive. And I do feel that the style you have exhibited is more suited to drones than to the human AEGAKS. So I would say that perhaps the focus was off. We need drones, as well as other things to complete the story, and perhaps you may be able to fill these positions? Besides, It's hard to build an expansion before you know anything about what you're expanding. Evolution is still in the works, as is my own Spearpoint.

So, do you think, Azel, the drone pilot, could have made multiple copies of his AI and loaded them into all these "AEGAKS" and the "Ejectable pilot blocks" are where his AI core's have been put so that the cores can be retrieved to be put into another mech so that it can be a continuing "life-cycle" for Azel if he get's destroyed (kinda like Mecha One?)

Something like that. After all, I did lay the groundwork for the drone to retain their independence.

Also, don't be afraid to set out and do your own thing with these designs. I've a couple of unique themes with very different styles, such as my ESC and the Gaia spinoff models that Parrington has been gracious enough to let me do. As well as the independent RGF Productions designs that I do that don't really fit into these categories.

Thank you for all the help and advice.

I think I'm going to keep the combining mech idea, and try and think of taking the Zephyr and make my own Exo-Force -like spinoff or something..who knows.

Don't be afraid to. But if you ever feel like contributing some drones or other material, please feel free to run it by us. We might be having a contest soon, and there will be a wildcard category that would efinitely fit your style.

Thank you for the offer.
I'll try to keep in touch with the AEGAKS members and try to keep up with the storys.
Thank you for the inspiration to start rebuilding.
I started college and thought I'd put my legos away for good, but aspiring to build an AEGAKS put me on a lego building role. sadly..I only have enough hinge pieces to build 1 maybe 2 mecha at a time. So I have to take pictures, save them to my computer and post them here, then tear them down and rebuild new models.

You're most welcome. I value the support and comradeship of other builders, without whom I could never have managed to become the builder I am. It's the same with all of us. Besides, you've got a unique style, and I may try my hand at it, should I get a chance.

all of the hinge pieces I use come from most of the star wars sets. the simple 2 to 1 snap hinge and it's usual frame for a bi-pedal mech is an I for the torso, and branch out with the head, and limbs. kinda simple actually.

I've just made a variable AI controlled Mech that is a combiner core for my secret mech, whose name no one will learn until Spearpoint's contest begins

I know I'm a bit late, but after reading your conversation I want to express my feelings about it too . Shadowa, your mechs are great (micro, but great, got it?)but it definetely doesn't fit the AEGAKS line of mechs. It fits perfectly in the Drone line and in that way you don't even need to call it mini or micro, they are as tall as human minifigs. I know how it sucks being lack of specific parts and the fact you need to tear one apart to build another creation, but try to create you own style based in these difficulties, I honestly think you can do it.

Again, good work and keep raising the drone hordes, afterall AEGAKS need something to shoot down...

I've decided to make a spin-off of my own, and if you go to my page, you'll see I've even altered my older mocs to fix all the issues with the standing AEGAKS creations. They are now ZEPHYR mechs, and SERAPH drones

I just tore apart my 2 ZEPHYR models to make some "chess piece" style mechs. Yes, It's inspiration came from Areetsa C's "Battle for Clonetard City". My fiancee' loves chess. And I love legos. So, I offered her the option of me building mecha/space fleet lego chess, and she approved. I have a Mech Leader, 2 sentry mechs, a medic droid, and a heavy arms mech for my side. And for her, a Variable Jet Leader, 2 variable recon jets, a pair of refueler tank ships, and a dual cockpit bomber for her. Yes, she has more pieces, but my Heavy Arms will count for 2 pieces due to it's move count.

I'll tell you how it goes. haha
