CRTs LEGO Show Display - Sign Up

Hi CRT members.

A few of us went to The Great Western Lego Show again this year and showed the organizers (The Brickish Association) photos of CRTs creations.

They liked what they saw, and as such we can display next year!

If you'd like to take part;

1. Sign Up to Brickish. This costs 12 (show entrance would be 10 anyway). To find out more Google 'Brickish Association'

2. Make sure you're available (and your model/s will be) for The Great Western Lego Show at STEAM in Swindon, UK, next October.

3. Fill in a MOC form (nearer the time)

4. Join the discussion about how we will display, what background we might build, tools, characters etc to bring our display to life.

So for me this means keeping my Fiat built for two years as it was finished just before last year's show!

Well, you know what I think... :-) I hope to make a D-Type (or two...) fairly soon; I'd like to have it ready before we do our 'dry run' in the near future.

The time is now to sign up for our display at STEAM. I need to know which models you're all going to bring, and their dimensions so I can figure out a plan for the display. You NEED to be in Brickish so that this is a joint display - only Brickish members can contribute and people may only show their own stuff.
Ape, Tom, Joe - over to you.

Woo! Finally some vehicles on display in the sea of sci-fi and castle!

I'm not to sure I can be there at the mo. I had a monster MTB crash last week (well I'm told I did- I don't remember it) and as a result broke my back and caused a brain bleed. Yay crashing! I'm out of hospital now but not sure yet about the recovery time.

If I'm all clear by the STEAM date then I'm in with the Fiat : ) If not I wanna see lots of pics of the best stand there!

Yeh. Apparently my full-face helmet saved my life, so says the very shaken up friend who called the ambulance whilst I was unconscious. Always where a helmet when biking kids!

Thank goodness you were a helmet. It would suck to lose you. What did you crash into/crashed into you?

I don't leave my house biking unless I have a helmet! I'm glad you are recovering... Best wishes to you!

I don't remember the crash but it was on a 22ft table top, which my friend thinks I overshot, so at least it was doing something cool

Sorry to hear about that Ape. I've had my fair share of mountain bike accidents too haha! I once got a massive stone stuck in my helmet from falling off. It's scary to think if I wasn't wearing a helmet, it would've been stuck in my head! :S I hope you are well soon. I am debating whether or not I should go to STEAM ;)

Yeah, if you died that way that would be way better than tripping over a crack and breaking your spine or something like that. haha

But I think the lesson learned is this: exercising is very dangerous for your health.

Which is why you need pi to calculate the area of my gut. :-O

Yeh, Lego is def safer!

Crappy time to do it though; I was due to go surfing, had Diamond League tickets at the Olympic park, 20/20 tickets for Lords and was going to the Spa Grand Prix. Ergh. All cancelled now.

Still, could be much much worse.

So Nick, what are you taking to STEAM?! I bet DeTom would like to show a few birds!!

I guess it all depends on how you look at it. You could be with your Maker, but instead you're stuck down here. :-)

Hopefully still the transporter+Jags with a dio set-up if Joe and Tom are in. Otherwise, maybe a selection of cars in all sizes.

I wish could go, but unfortunately I'm far, far away. Would be really nice to meet up with you guys in person someday. Who's going so far?

And btw has anyone heard from brickster recently? If I recall correctly I think he was part of Maserati team, or he showed interest in joining a while back. I haven't been active here lately so I think I've missed quite a bit. I've still in that "dark phase" from a year ago. It's been a while since I've touched LEGO.

Hey LB Jr. As team owner, if you've not heard from him I think it's ok to put a message in your team thread (so if he is around he can see it) and if he's no longer active to replace him in the team.

I'm going to start a new thread on this matter in a sec...

Wow Ape I wish you a speedy recovery my friend. Please keep us updated.
Nick I very much doubt I will be able to display at STEAM but I will be attending to meet up with you (and others of course). Amy is expecting our 3rd child and is due a few weeks after STEAM. Our first two were two weeks early so I will be pushing it. Never say never but I will need to really think this one through. I really want to join Brickish anyway and will do so asap. Where have you heard that before? ;)

I did hear a rumour once that there are more important things in life than Lego... It does look like if I get a stand I'll be displaying a selection of my own stuff, unless Tom chimes in. Looking forward to meeting your (bigger) family again soon :-)

Congrats Mortal! I'm guessing this is the reason for the house move? I hope you're still in Bristol. I was due to move there tomorrow until the crash. Now postponed for a bit...

Hey Nick and Mortal

Awesome to hear you're both going to be displaying your teams at GWLS : )

I'm still too broken to get there, so lots of pictures please (and a classic race teams banner, lol?)

You'll be flying the flag for vehicle builders too : )
