Part 6:

All non-team related stuff goes in here...

Question for the Americans in the group - are you guys excited for F1 at Austin Texas today?

I must say, the track looks awesome (especially with part of it copied it from our Silverstone track in the UK!) - way better than the Tilke-designed car parks out in the Middle East.

P.S No giving away the result - this race in on Sky rather than the BBC so we have to wait until evening for the highlights. Boo. Bernie; you suck.

I am not really someone that follows all them races. If I come by them on the television by coincidence I like watching them, but I don't follow the rankings and things.

That was an amazing race!!

Watched it with Joe, full of excitement and we were happy that robot vettel didn't win :-)

Go LEWIS!!!

Bring on Interlagos, one of my three favourite circuits, I can see another win for Lewis here, especially if it rains. Hopefully it will go to the wire with the championship. I'm rooting for Alonso.

US Grand prix is now up there with my favourite tracks.

Hope all is well Apester!

Grrrr...Alonso is now 13 points behind Vettel. Let's hope something terrible happens to Vettel in Brazil...like a crash. Haha

What an amazing last two races of the season!

It proves something I've thought for a while; interesting races come from interesting tracks (not DRS, tyres, huuuge tarmac run-off areas etc).

Which is why CRTs is so good! If you get the chance to watch classic car racing, it's incredible : )

Apparently so. They like 'No.2' drivers who are there solely to help their No.1 get as many points as possible.
...

Vettel is only 25 remember, and in a team which is only very recently (last 3 years) successful - he deserves a LOT of respect. And he seems genuinely fun and nice guy too. That said, I was hoping Alonso would do it, and I don't particularly like Ferrari as a modern team

Don't get me wrong - I'm not totally against RB and Vettel, it's just that it's the third year in a row.

Good old Ferrari - gotta win by getting the FIA to look through every rule in the book, rather than just building the better car

Thanks for a brilliant first year!

Next year I'm hoping the teams near completion list will be *much* longer.

Also, someone else is welcome to do next year's - its a collaborative effort after all : )

I saw your post - i will take a closer look later.

Can you remove the race car that I claimed on your Ferrari team? I'm in a big MOC block and don't have the patience to finish any of my models right now. I'd like for someone else to be able to give it a go. I don't want to prevent someone from building one while I'm like this.

Thank you, guys, for keeping this group running; especially Ape, and Mr. Dorowski.

Hope to "see" you soon with a new MOC.

Hi Loek

As per the homepage:

"Step 3: Build your chosen vehicle or vehicles.

Important; The team and vehicles must be historic. For now that's 1950s to '70s. They must also be Large or Extra Large scale. This means race cars approximately 14-18 studs wide, and trucks 20-26 studs wide."

All our entries are as near as possible to the same scale (LEGO wheel sizes permitting). 14-wide is the minimum, although we do have one or two 12-wides that *just* make it in.

http://www.racehistorie.nl/cpz/Racing%20Team%20Holland-pag.jpg this is the main one I look at, but I usually type racing team holland on google images, and it comes up with a website called race historie that has some good pics on. Otherwise, I find what cars they have, type the cars name into google and find pics of the car that isn't racing team holland. Then I make them in the colour scheme. :) please let me know If you do or don't want to make them :)

Okay, thanks Harry. I think I will try an '02 again, but I don't think I have any suitable wheels in the right scale - I was never really happy with the ones I used last time. I think I'm going to try a Ferrari F50 before then, but I'm not sure that it will be completed, it could prove to be very difficult. I'll let you know if I start work on the BMW :)

So then. After Ape's comment on Can-Am in the other thread, I started looking around and stumbled on the Lancia Alitalia team. (Logic) I was just curious to see if anyone else would be interested in building some Lancias?

Obviously there's the Stratos Rally Car, but they also have the 424 Support Van, the Beta and the Fiat 131. (And that's after just a couple minutes looking!)

So I guess I'll just put the offer out there, if anyone's interested then I'll make a Lancia thread and get the ball rolling with...something. =]

Either the rally version: http://www.italiaspeed.com/2010/cars/lancia/01/autosport_international/preview/club_lancia_sport_autosport_international_2010_1.jpg or the touring one: http://de.academic.ru/pictures/dewiki/76/Lancia_Stratos_Turbo.jpg . The BBC have added another epic classic racing documentary to their already brilliant list.

The latest is 'Madness in the Desert', the story of the Paris to Dakar Rally, that started in the late '70s, has claimed dozens of lives, and drove through the heart of war zones.

The rally has now been moved to South America due to instability in Africa.
