Not much activity here lately. Work has been brutal. Here are some ideas to ponder.

Who are the martians? So far I have thought of them as a silicon based intelligent crystal whose cells work together the way a fungus does. They can form symbiotic relationships with other life forms, including humans. Some are good and help out other life by forming into exoskeletons and providing nutrients to their cells. some are evil and warp their hosts into crystalline monsters and take over their minds and bodies.

MarsCorp was unaware of the martians when they began terraforming, but now that they are aware, the board of directors is attempting to preserve peaceful relations. It is difficult, as many of the martians don't like the changes taking place to their world. A special working group made up of both martians and humans has convened in an attempt to make mars support both human and martian life in harmony.

When I read this, I immediatly think: Visceroid. THe visceroid is a strange plasmoidic thing from the Tiberium Essence mod for C&C 3: Tiberium Wars. Picture: http://images.wikia.com/tiberiumessence/images/6/62/Visceroid.png If you are wondering 'what the <insert_expletive_here> is that?!' they are some kind of mutant creature with minimal nervous system and no higher level (or maybe even lower level) brain capacity. They can run into each otehr and form bigger visceroids and they are harmful to any animal they come in contact with. This seems like a good something to base your aliens off of. If this gives you any ideas, give me a holler.

Interesting. Those things could be a model for "criminal" martians. Those would be collections of martian cells that form into things like slime molds and eat normal martian cells. I thought that maybe for higher brain capacity the martians can join together. Each cell could modify itself into a more specialized cell, like a brain cell or a nerve cell. Or if martians are living in a symbiotic relationship with a humans they could communicate with the human host through a very rudimentary form of telepathy by extending a chain of martian cells into the human's brain.
