All right everyone! Thank you for your patience, but I finally got around to judging the entries. Right off the bat I will say thank you to everyone for contributing, these are all fantastic cars. Obviously, you all are great builders, and you made my job quite difficult as far as having to pick only one to win, but since this is a contest, here we go!
Just a quick reminder, these scores are based on the following 3 categories:
1. Detail, inside and out
2. Accuracy, shape and design,
3. Creativity, pieces, functionality, style
comments: nice design, would have liked to have seen better shots of the interior
comments: Awesome car, great details, I like how you did the doors
comments: This thing is a beast! To be clear, it is very accurate, but I could only give you half the points in that category because it's only half finished, hope you understand. I especially like the fenders, nice technique
comments: One of the nicest cars I've seen from you, cool engine
Malte: (I judged the 917)
comments: you consistently come up with new ways to use pieces that astound me, and I like how you made the stripes, nice work
comments: Awesome details, I like the seats, engine, especially the door handles, nice use of ice skates.
comments: Beautiful from every angle! I love how you put studs on everything, including the sides, not just on top. Really helps shape it nicely.
So the winner in first place is Malte Dorowski, congratulations!
And with a (very) close tie for second place, Rolands Kirpis and Nick Barrett, well done!
And to everyone else, really well done as well, like I said at the beginning, it was a very close race. Thank you so much for the entries, I hope you all enjoyed the contest.
Thanks to everyone, hope to see more from all of you soon! Permalink
Quoting Lego Builders
Thanks for judging! Are you building any MOCs right now, or are you in a "dark phase?"
As far as future contests, I think we should wait for summer time next year, unless anyone has other suggestions.
I wouldn't call it a dark phase so much, I'm just at school. I've actually got a car about 3/4 done sitting at home waiting for a roof and engine, and a couple big projects planned, they just may be on hold until winter break or summer. Sure wish I did have more time on my hands though. Anyway, the contest was cool, thanks for putting it together! Probably summer would be best for the next one, I'd love to do another one sooner, but I know how busy it can get for some people with school and things. Any thoughts on a theme? Permalink
Hi Ryan. Thanks for this especially as you are busy. I am pleased with 4th ;). Have you seen the classic race team group? I think you might like it. There is no pressure to build but it would be great to see you join. Permalink
