This is the area where I'm probably lacking the most in my collection. While I haven't counted them out, my best guess would be just a smidge over a hundred.
I had maybe twenty or so sets as a kid. Then when coming out of my dark age back in early 2007, I started purchasing Lego from Bricklink and not by way of sets...so no minifigs there to speak of either.
I'll have to take a look and count em. Not a lot by any stretch. Including all my "animal" ones (like obi wan's dragon mount from ep 3 and a couple of jabbas and what not) they fill one of those large containers from my collection shots. I'll take a look in the next couple of days and see what I have. Permalink
As everybody knows - I am an army builder. It is somewhere in that grey area between collection and insanity. Through in a couple parts of competitiveness, stupidness, and shear love for the little guys and you end up with somewhere between 7-8,000 minifigs and growing weekly (maybe daily).
Originally when I started it was to build for my helms deep (future creation), but I just can't stop - pure addiction.
I could be wrong, but I should have at least 100 Star Wars figs alone, maybe 150 with all the droids. I probably have close to that in assorted other themes and the parts to make another 20 or more. Since I don't get to invest a lot of money into LEGO, I tend to buy the smaller sets and the figs actually add up quick, especially with the new Battle Packs. I really kick myself now for not buying certain small sets and focusing too much on the Star Wars stuff. I would kill for some Spider Man, Batman and Harry Potter figs; they are so outrageously priced on E-Bay and CrackLink! I still like to browse my old catalogs and it pains me to see some of those sets and how 'cheap' they were. So much regret, so little time...~H Permalink
