Okay guys, here's the next ABS Forever mini contest. (Sorry I took so long!) The task is to build a modern landscape. This may be a highway in the mountains, a railway bridge over a river, a dam over a lake, a field of windmills, or whatever else you can think of. Essentially, build a landscape but include recognizably modern elements in it. Feel free to build in whatever scale you want, and post as many entries as you care to. (Quality over quantity, however.) When posting your entry, please include a link to ABS Forever, entries without the link may be invalid. Also, post a link to your entry in this thread so that I can find it. You have until December 4th, and the winning entry will become the buddy icon of this group as well as being listed in the Hall of Fame. Have fun! Permalink | November 4, 2012, 7:54 am |

Finally! I have been waiting for this! I might be able to scrap up a build, in between contests. Permalink | November 4, 2012, 8:45 am |

Thanks! What's the ABS Hall of Fame? I don't see a topic for it? Permalink | November 7, 2012, 3:36 pm |

This'll definetly be a challenge, between finding time and developing unused skill in this area, but I'll see what I can do! :D looking forward to seeing what everybody whips up! Permalink | November 17, 2012, 11:23 pm |

Interesting. So we are allowed as many entries as we want? Does it need to be part of the same post? Or could we enter them as separate posts? Not that I will at the moment, just curious.

Yep, you can post as many as you want. If by the same/separate post questions you mean if you can have a landscapeless modern scene in one MOC and a medieval landscape in another, then no, it must all be in one (and in one scene). If you mean if you built multiple entries, then you could either have one post with many MOCs or a post for each. Hopefully this answers your question, let me know if you want more clarification. Any plans to enter? Permalink | November 21, 2012, 5:42 pm |

Thanks for clarifying. I meant the latter.
Yes, I am. In fact, I have completed my entry. However, I do have some fixed feelings about it. So I might do some altercations and retake the pictures. Thanks for hosting!

I have a quick question. Do you have in mind what criteria the entries will be judged on? Or is it just an overall type of thing?
Thank you. Permalink | November 24, 2012, 6:57 pm |

Kind of a mix. I won't be scoring points per se, but I'll look over each entry evaluating for overall building skill and adherence to category. Hope this helps, looking forward to seeing an entry from you! ;) Permalink | November 26, 2012, 6:44 am |

Thank you! I hope to be able to turn something out, though I found this a bit late (about two days ago actually :P) so we'll have to see. Permalink | November 26, 2012, 5:18 pm |

Well, you have 'til midnight tonight, so you still have time! ;) If you mean 2000 years ago, then no. If you mean the time period where Jesus harvests people during the Apocalypse, and assuming this happens December 21st, then yes that is allowed. Permalink | December 4, 2012, 5:17 pm |

Hey LukeClarenceVan, do any of us get to be moderators, or admins, since we are active, but some other people or not? Permalink | December 8, 2012, 12:59 pm |

Uh, yeah, I've been meaning to do something about that. No promises of any speedy reforms, but I'll try and change that situation this month. Permalink | December 8, 2012, 3:32 pm |

Judging is complete and the winning entry decided upon! Firstly, thanks to everyone who entered. You guys all built well, and choosing the winner is never an easy task. (Well, except for that time when Sir Balamorgineas was the only competitor, but I digress.) It was great seeing all the different takes on the category, and the mix of micro and minifig scale entries was an interesting feature. However, while you all did superb work, it's necessary to choose a victor. The entry which stood out above the rest is... Across the Falls by Lego Builders (senior)! The striking scene and vivid juxtaposition caught my attention, and the micro boats with wakes sealed the deal. Congratulations on a well earned victory Lego Builders, your name will be added to the hall of fame and your creation will become the group's icon until the next contest.
