A simple but necessary fact:
Custom isn't always best. Custom sections of a moc can be unstable and sometimes take up too many pieces. Don't get me wrong, custom is great, but sometimes simple is better. If you are going to make something non custom, try to cover it up as best you can. That way it gives the same feel of a custom section, while retaining stability and mobility.

Here's one that I was reminded of by Dylan Meivis (or how ever you spell it) is to just find a 'useless' piece and put it to use, or find a piece that only seems to be used for one thing and give it another.

Try to keep colors to a minimum. unless they are directly significant to the story, many or highly contrasting colors can make many otherwise great MOCs horrible eyesores. Now like other rules/tips, there are those exceptions like when someone is supposed to be highly mutated or something like that.

That really was a good idea. The first thing I have to say about this is find a color scheme. NOT JUST any color scheme, a good, unique color scheme, or just simply black and silver (since that is the best of all color schemes). If that wasn't anything to say, check out GreebleGod's (or Cossy's) youtube channel and they will talk a lot about the color scheme.

I have to agree and disagree with Rennoc. Custom is a great way to make the moc look better and the way you want. Just don't go overkill or make it a complete mess. Don't mix colors that don't go good together (Like orange and lime or regular green. It is your choice what you do for the moc, just don't go crazy and add this or that "just for fun".
