will the group be introducing an approval system for mocs and new members joining to discourage the Traders, or would that put too much work on the mods/admins?

I'm not sure, We do need some kind of structure, But we also need more people for this group to work. I think we could change this group to an approval group and have the mods or admin check out the persons comments to see if they are a "Trader" or not. Jon what do you think?

Can we put mocs that don't fit in the topics on the main page?

well, if im trying to join a group that says approval is required to join, i usually dont join. because, it takes the admins of the group to long to approve you and i just loose interest. so in other words, i think we should keep it public.

This is what I'm going to do, If you dont see a conversation you think your moc fits under, and you cant think of one for us to make for it, I'm going to make a Misc conversation that you can post them under.

This is true, I have some groups that I've tried to join, but approval hasn't been given yet, This has made me not want to join one of those groups. I dont really like traders being in this group, but as long as they follow the rules, Im ok with it. When they break the rules, then the BAN HAMMER comes out. So I guess to answer the original question, The group will stay public, but we will be getting more moderators as the group grows. The mods, and admin should be pretty active, and be on the look out for Trading. They will enforce the rules.

Sounds like the best way forward, we're still growing so not everything is going to have a place yet. I'm pleased to see that so far most new members are observing the "no new convos" rule, let's hope they keep it up.

aw shucks thanks guys. I'm not planning on being as active in 2012 as I was last year, but I'll do my best when I can.

I had a good Idea for a contest, we pick some bricks, and see who can be the most creative with them.

I think all the groups are a little down on activity at the moment due to the activity list being broken. This group is still doing a good job I think
