Mr. BlueSpartan is quitting? Shame. Your team can still function, just as though he is inactive.

Something famous would help your creation be more recognizable, though, it is not imperative that it is something 'famous'. Preferably something inclusive in that time period.

I answered you guys in your group, shame that he feels quitting is the best way to deal with situation, but there it is. You can move forward with 4 members. The rule is you need 5 to form your team, we will not DQ you because someone had to leave or someone quit.

98's? Do you mean 80's? Your build needs to be something that people will know from the 1980's. Usually that is something famous like a rock group, Ronald Reagan's Hair.....video games, that sort of thing. Does that help?

What? "does it have to a lego model you make your micro about?" Do mean to say does it have to be an existing lego model that you make a micro of? If so, then Yes, you pick a Lego model you like and build a micro of it. For example, Chris' Pilican.no wait, bad example. Kelso's Invisible Hand, make it in micro. Got it?

How do we make a working link in the post? Ive tried twice, and failed. I can do it here but, not on my MOCs.

Or, for a much simpler method.

Quoting Step 1
Up beside the main title of your creation, you will see the "EDIT" link. Click on that to edit your existing creation.

Quoting Step 2
DELETE your links from the introduction box. We don't want those there. Its fine if you leave your team name and the category there though.

Quoting Step 3
Add the links back into your creation but NOT in the introduction box, but into the actual HTML part of the creation.

Quoting Step 4
There is no need for fancy HTML here. Just post something like "Link back to the MOCAthalon: http://www.mocpages.com/group.php/19864

A question for you, if you do not mind answering: On Category 1, where you have to build an adventurous person, does it have to be your classic tomb-raiding jungle exploring adventurer (such as Johnny Thunder or Indy) or could it be a Pirate (such as Jack Sparrow) as they are, in fact, adventurous people? Thank you :)

Good question. Adventure Time is simply to make an adventure scene that you want. Indy, Thunder, the mummy movies, those come to mind, but yes, a pirate scene is adventure, why not? I discourage war becasue war is not an adventure, those that think it are have never been in one.

Like all vignettes, overhang is okay as long as it is limited. Obviously, you could just take a 16x16 plate and then slap a 32x32 plate on top of that and call that 'overhang'. Tree branches, minifigure parts, etc are allowed. Just don't exploit the overhang.

I would allow it for the St. Patty's day parade category. I wouldn't allow that for the Vignetted category though.

Again, how you approach these categories is completely up to you. How boldly you try something different or new, will improve your score.

That one was written by someone who's first language isn't English. Under the circumstances, I think he did pretty well.

Its great for someone's second language, but I thought you wrote it?

Would making a minifig slightly transparent be fine for the Ghost Hunters category? It wouldn't change the MOC really, just make the fig look more ghostly.

Believe it or not, we have a panel of 6 judges here fellas. English may not be the primary language for all of us.

Hmm. So long as it doesn't detract form the build, I say go for it.

For the myths and legends category, does the build have to be as a myth/legend was said or could you just put in a mythological creature and create a MOC around it?

It has to contain clear mythical or legendary elements. Its up to you how you want to use it. The judges will judge according to how connected your build is to the category.

When you say we can't reuse something from an older moc, could that include a ?x? base of whatever dimensions.

No, baseplates and pieces can be re-used, just not parts of the MOC intact.

As long as the floating rock is within the 16x16 range then it's fine.

Prizes... we're working on it.

You MUST be on a team to participate in the games.

You can, however, build the categories on your own, but they won't be judged or allowed to be posted in the group.

Just a quick question: Will story-towers be frowned upon in categories with a size restriction?

Size restrictions are generally confined to the base. A tower should be acceptable unless the category calls for a "scene" which would be singular.

I originally thought that the Ovid's Metamorphose category was stuff like caterpillar to butterfly, larvae to mosquito, etc, not stories. I haven't heard of them and I was looking around and on Wikipedia they said that it came from the Greek, to transform. Could I build a story with something that changes, but doesn't really have to do with the Greeks at all? And, if not, is a metamorphose only a Greek myth?

That's only the name of the category - Ovid was one of the most popular Metamorphose authors.
To your question: Yes you can build another story with a transformation - it may be a n abstract take on the theme but if you wanna go with a "traditional" greek metamorphose or one in this style, you're welcome as well!

I would not deduct any points for that, so yes, you may use a waterslide decal.

Copied from the categories thread:

You MUST include near the TOP (remember, active links will NOT work in the "introduction" section. Place it near the top of the main box) of your post what TEAM you are on AND what CATEGORY you are posting in. You MUST also include a WORKING link to the main MocAthalon group.

You MUST add your creation to this group AND your team's private group.
