Alright lads, the MOCAthalon 2012 has come and gone, and I am sure a lot of you are still feeling the affects of competitive speed building. I thought I should bring closure to the games (at least from my end) by giving y'all some stats/facts that I thought were worth mentioning.

On an end note, I want to thank everybody for a great contest this year. This is (I think) one of, if not the, largest LEGO competitions in the community, with 557 creations. It was truly an honor to be apart of it.

Sure, it started out rolling slow, but then once you guys figured out that you have 30 days to build, the quality picked up dramatically! ...Then plummeted in the last 5 days. Take a mental note about time management.

I probably have made a name for myself as a "harsh" or "strict" judge, so if you feel that you have been slighted by me, please approach and ask. I would request that you would talk it out with me instead of holding a grudge. That goes for all of the judges also.

Otherwise, what a great contest! Hope to see you all next year.

Blake Baer, signing off.

Every time I sit down to write a long winded drawn out thank you speach I get pulled away either by work or family... so, I'll try to be as quick as possible here.

Firstly, to the judges. You guys truly went above and beyond here. Everyone always says things like "we couldn't have done it without you" but really... we couldn't have. Thank you so much for your hard work, dedication... and fun stuff behind the scenes that always made me laugh.

To the players, this contest is probably the biggest in the LEGO community and don't think for one second that it would have happened without every single one of you (yes, even the ones that drove us crazy).

And even a thank you to the spectators, the members of the group that didn't play or judge but cheered others on with encouraging comments and fun banter, thank you.

Well, that's it from me for now. I'll see you all again for the MOCie awards in a few months and then later in the fall for the MocOlympics!

I guess I'd fit in the "spectator" category, and as an onlooker I'd just like to say a big: "WELL DONE!" to all the judges and competitors alike. And I trust it's okay that I'm writing in this thread, yes? If not, just delete the comment. But anyhow, it was an enjoyable (if not somewhat strenuous) contest to watch! I don't think I've ever viewed 500+ MOCs within a month before. RECORD for Ian! So all that to say: great job one and all! And as Chris mentioned, I look forward to competing in the MO this coming fall.

Once again, thank you judges, fellow competitors, and team members for making this one of the most memorable events in my LEGO-building "career"! It was a blast! And as for the distinguished award bestowed upon me by the most honorable and praise-worthy judges, I have this to say:

Actually, according to the scoresheet averages I calculated for my team, you were the most "generous" of all six judges :P

Haha, I became more lenient as the games progressed. Still, there are a couple of people who are less than thrilled with my so-called "generosity". ;)

This year's MocAthalon has been another motivation for me to build, and regardless of winning, it was a fun month. Good job to all the builders and thank you judges for your time.

Well, I've already said all the thanks and stuff in another thread, but I'm truly honoured by the great and majestic award I received. I would leave with some more smack-talk, but that MOCtley fool Paul Romano already did that. ;)
