Mr. Gypsy,
A word of advice about the activity level in your group.

The best way to get this site really going is to try to be all over every thread every day. The fact is, that people like to read responses to what THEY say and post.

So, as the group leader, you should be the first or second guy to respond to everything! I know, it seems strange but it's true. If the group leader is on the dance floor every night, then the dance will never stop!

When you jump in and say something (anything really) and then the original poster responds, suddenly other people begin to jump in on conversations and the activity level increases. But you have to stir the pot. Keep the conversations going.

Respond to posts quickly.
Ask other group members questions.
Then comment on their answers to those questions. When they don’t answer…repeat the question. Nag them a little. Group members are often lazy, and want other members to do all the talking. You need to prod them from time to time.

It should be a nightly thing for a group leader (like 30 minutes to an hour at least).

Sounds like a lot of work right? I agree. But if you analyze the groups that are "Active" you can see pretty quickly that it is because there is a leader who is always blowing on the fire.

Don’t be discouraged! This is a hard skill to master, and you seem serious about this group, so stay at it. Once you find your groove, then it’s off to the races!

Attack!

Once again thank you for the advice, Mr Rutherford. I'll do my best. But like I said, more threads are needed. Without them there will be few things for me to comment on.

How about a thread, not about a MOC, but about how to write CC? That could start a good discussion.

Want me to start it?

Yes please. That will be perfect.

Also, would you accept my offer of becoming a moderator? You seem to have a good understanding of what I'm trying to do here and you have excellent experience.

Mr. Gypsy,

Thanks but no thanks.

The truth is that this is a pretty small group, and when you start to make more comments and ask more questions, you will find that you can pretty much steer this car by yourself.

Also, I think MODs tend to distract form the boss (You in this case).

Stay in the fight. You will get this figured out.

In the mean time, you can bet that I will stay active in the group!

I understand. I hope you're right about the activity.
