Quoting Griffin .
Okay, I didn't start this topic, but I'm posting in it. Judges, how come I'm an acolyte when I was first in the Sith Council? I was active, how come I was moved. Its not fair. Can I be moved back please?

You were inactive for a while Griffin. I cannot say for certain but I'm sure Duncan will be prepared to boost you up to a higher rank at some point

I started this topic, but my comment never got through moderation, so I'll have to re-post it. My first GFW moc got a 5 from harry and a 3.5 from Duncan. I was just like 'Oh ok then.'.
My second moc, which was fathoms better than my first one, got a 4.5 from Harry and a 3.5 from Duncan! WHY! THAT MAKES NO SENSE! My third got a 3.5 from Duncan and a 4 from Harry. Please explain because I don't have a problem with getting low scores, but I want to know why I got them and how to improve, instead of trying to improve and somehow it not working!

We keep saying quality to quantity. The problem with lots of the builds we're seeing is that most people are just throwing a load of figures on a barely detailed board. We'd rather see a highly detailed board with one or two figures than just a huge, random and hard to follow battle scene

I've seen that most of the bigger ones get better scores than the smaller detailed ones typically. I still have yet to figure out what you guys think is good, scores seem disproportionate for certain builds. I still think you guys should post a little more detail as to what you think should be improved.

My thoughts exactly. And my mission one had neither, I was fairly happy with my others, but now I'm confused, so I'm not going to participate until we get a logcial judging description, anyone with me? Also, Fell you've been one of the most staunch followers of this group I know, nice one.

This group guys. I'm sorry but it's getting a bit ridiculous. Why is everyone complaining? Really, I personally am not seeing a whole lot of improvement in the quality of builds from anyone and I was judging them in what I believe was a fair way. Harry was also judging fairly and no one has any reason to complain. Honestly, people.

We aren't saying that big builds aren't good! There have been plenty of really amazing big builds (JMan for example) that have deserved high scores.
The build is entirely dependent on how detailed it is. Slapping a few palm trees on a flat board isn't that interesting. But add a layer of foliage and it looks much better.
Also the presentation of some builds has been pretty poor, with no backgrounds and sloppy photos.
We aren't saying don't build large builds, all we are saying is only build something if you can make it detailed as we would rather see a smaller but more detailed build than a large and rather boring build

Well if your responding to me, you reversed what I said. I said the bigger builds seem to get higher than the smaller some times. Which I'm just stating observation on everyones mocs, I could be wrong.

Anyway, it would be nice if each judge actually participated a bit more. Only you and usually Duncan do. Josh rarely these days.

Still, this is Essence's complaint. And looking it over it is a very valid complaint. That first moc was overrated by Harry when compared to the other. Duncan's first makes sense. His third moc, which is very nicely made, got less then the first one from Harry and the same from Duncan. Each progressive one is better and yet Duncan's score never raised and Harry, while yours raised from second to third, the first one was higher.

I would have rated 2.5, 3.5, 6.5 based on what others have been rated. That first one was way overrated, the third way under when compared to each of the three mocs' ratings from the other. http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/326986

Though looking back I agree that I vastly overrated Essence's first entry the other two I feel we're rated fairly.
The second mission was really just a bunch of figures with a few bushes on a relatively bare plate.
The third mission was far to complicated. There was a lot going on and it was hard to pick out and specific details. Everything looked crowded nd rather bland.

As of now only Duncan and I are providing scores as Josh seems to have pulled out.

Not a bad idea. But then there will be two judges on the jedi side how about four judges

Do you really want to try democracy? Think about it really hard. I can already see a major flaw in your plan, good sir.

Remember, this group is supposed to be FUN. We don't need a huge political debate here. Take a deep breath and calm down.

Wow, my one little comment to offer help alleviate pressure and a further debate gets sparked adding to the pressure. That's ironic.

We are going to stick with two judges, that is all we need.
Griffin, I'm sorry that you think Duncan's judging is unfair but he is giving his opininon. Duncan may seem a little harsh sometimes but I know I can be a little generous sometimes so it balances out. In the end one score does not have that big an impact as it is the collective scores of each rank that decide who has won.
This group is supposed to be something fun, I don't want it to end up as just another gaming group where everyone is arguing and criticizing each other.

Harry, I know what I said in this thread, I've just been having a rough week, and I need to stop letting it out in the group. I'll do anything I can to prevent myself from being criticizing. I'm really sorry I did that. I promise I won't have any more "Political Unneeded" arguments.

You really have no reason to apologize. I believe "The Essence of Randomness" started this whole argument. He's been bugging me for about two weeks for a promotion now. You simply started the conversation that gave other people the courage to come forward. It wasn't your fault, more like a group effort.

Nope, not two weeks, I was in Paris for mish 10 anyway, and I don't nesscerily want a prom, just an explanation of why I haven't got one.

Promotions aren't gust dealt out at any time. You have to impress Duncan with some really clean and nice builds that stand out from everyone else's entries. You need to bring something unique into your builds
