Things that you dislike

In an imperfect world, there are going to be things we don't like. I don't like it when people don't wash their hands after they are done in a public restroom.....what are things that you dislike?

Usually I'd say okay. However this time it is nessicary. You see, I need to write H:A:T:E: as H:A:T:E:, otherwise it trips the censor. Now, these comments are not R:U:D:E:, to I should usually be able to add them to anything, or even say them to my great grandmother. But the censor deletes them, so I need to use this technique. Besides, other admins use it too...

You know, pokemon COULD be making an epic comeback. The latest film seems to have mewtwo in it. The trailer make it seem as if the storyline will finally have danger in it, and maybe even next series brock might come back to the show! But who knows, brock coming back is a roomer, but the mewtwo film is real. Can't wait to see the subbed version, the voices in the dub absolu- rest of comment removed by censor.

It's not weird to me. ;)

Yes, hate the sin, love the person. You should love yourself. Not love as in only care about yourself, your needs, and your wants, but enjoy that you are living! You know yourself better than anyone else, and you can't love your neighbor as yourself unless you first understand how to love yourself.

You take care of yourself:
eat well (healthy)
get a good night's rest
get enough exercise
be social (hanging out with family and friends)
etc.

Once you have an understanding of the above, you can love your neighbor as yourself. ;)

If you can't type the word "hate" without it being rejected, then you must have typed something else as well. Otherwise your reply to a comment with the word "hate" in it would be rejected.
And there are much less ann0ying ways to avoid the censor.

And to get back on topic, I hate that technique that you use so much.

Depends on what you're looking for your computer to do. If you are a gamer, definitely go with Windows. If you need it for working, school, etc. then I would say get a PC, back up a copy of the Windows OS, and get Linux. However, this is coming from a Mac disliker. Oh, and, side note, Windows 8 SUCKS.

For brickarms, it's not only the unpurist part and lack of creativity I dislike (brick-built guns, when done well, can look very nice) but also the subject matter. I tend to dislike war MOCs. Maybe because most of them seem to be made with next to no talent.

I have to disagree with you here, too. If you get on the Brickarms forums, and you look at MOCs of the Month, those are mocs that have beaten out many purist creations. There are people on here as well who do fantastic creation with Brickarms. Ever seen Christian Collins or LT. John Harland? And what do you mean lack of creativity? Brickarms's guns look SO much better than any of the guns that Lego has made. In the end, I think if you like building war Mocs(like me), than you will find that Brickarms enhance the look of your creations greatly, making them look much more realistic.

Matched. Not beaten. I won't deny that some of the ones I saw were pretty good, but that's one moc per month. Whereas on other websites you see MOCs of that quality like every day.
Quoting Mr Viking There are people on here as well who do fantastic creation with Brickarms. Ever seen Christian Collins or LT. John Harland?

Some people. But the thing you are pointing out is the creation, not the brickarms. Several of those creations don't feature the brickarms prominently at all. I wouldn't say that the brickarms make it better.
Quoting Mr Viking And what do you mean lack of creativity?

I mean that purist brick-built guns can look very good as well if done right, and require many techniques and skill. Using brickarms shows no skill, only the money that you spent. Which isn't really a skill.
Quoting Mr Viking Brickarms's guns look SO much better than any of the guns that Lego has made.

That's unrelated to creativity. And they don't look that much better than some brick-built guns.

You can use that same argument to say that using megablocks figures are better than Lego minifigures, but I doubt like anyone would agree. Because there's something about Lego that doesn't get to that level of detail, when it does it looks "un-Lego", which isn't necessarily a good thing. After all, sometimes a simple design, like a lego or brick-built gun, can be better than a complex one, like brickarms.
Quoting Mr Viking In the end, I think if you like building war Mocs(like me), than you will find that Brickarms enhance the look of your creations greatly, making them look much more realistic.

If brickarms are the only things that you can do to make your creation good, then you need to seriously work on improving your building skills. Pretty much what you just said there is that brickarms can enhance your creations. Improving your building skills can too.

On the lack of creativity part, I apologize, as I misunderstood you and thought you were saying there was a lack of creativity on Chapman's part, which is what I was disagreeing with. I did not say Brickarms will enhance your creations no matter what, because if the build is bad, than the Brickarms will detract from it. However, if you are a good builder of war mocs, Brickarms will enhance them greatly. For example, if you look at a Brickmania Sherman tank, the building is exceptional, and it looks very realistic. It looks even more realistic because the builder uses a Browning machine gun on top of the tank, instead of just building one. This may not seem like anything to some people, but I think Brickarms more appeal to a history buff, like me and many other Brickarms users, who think that the guns need to look realistic. Because honestly, I have compared the difference between a Brickarms BAR and a exceptionally well-built BAR, and the Brickarms just looks much more realistic, and, yes, fits into the creation better, enhancing the look. Once again, though, this might only appeal to a historical nut like me.

I think I can see how brickarms would appeal to some people with a different style of building. I'm just a purist though, so I'm fine with slightly inaccurate guns as long as it's all official lego products. I see your point though.

Minecraft knockoffs, nothings more stressfull than hearing people saying Castle block world is better.
Also megablocks.
and maybe rap music, although I still respect people who listen to it.

Mostly above all chavs.
I don't understand minecraft either....that is...in the context of playing it all the time.

Nor do I! Yeah... People play about 5-9 hours of minecraft a day! Crazy!

Although, if I'm in a LEGO store I do need a "little' more time;)
An ideal amount of time for me would be about a week:)

Dislike?

- people who attempt to cut in front of me in queues.

- reality TV shows.

- Video games based on Movies, because they are always rubbish.

Well, the only time's I've been there to shop, and not for the experience of just going, I've had to rush because we were doing things. But last time I had a bit more time than usual. :D
In the Lego store, time is essential to survival. :)

Yeah, it's not even reality....it's a bunch of non-normal people.

10 minutes? With my dad, shoe-shopping is an all-day affair. He has to go to one store, try on every pair that he likes, go the next, same thing. Eventually we end up going to every shoe store in town and come back to one of the first ones only to find that he really doesn't like any of the shoes in town so he settles for a pair that 'aren't too bad' and then he takes them back in a week or so to get the first pair he tried on... Ok maybe I exaggerated a LITTLE bit but seriously, shoe shopping is an all-day affair with my father.

yeah....Do you live on a farm? I have rubber boots for when I need some slip on shoes, (yeah, I don't have flip flops or anything but in Honduras, it's hard to come by size 10-10.5 shoes) Work boots for riding motorcycles and when it's muddy. Some old Converse for burning trash, playing outside etc and some nice DC Skate shoes for normal activities. Going to work, skating, running errands etc.

Yup, not so fun.

Before, writing essays were a dread, now they aren't too hard for me! I had to write a 5Ph essay in 30 minutes...hard stuff. In order to practice (it was for a test) I practiced writing many 5Ph essays, each one being 30 min long. Then I'd go over them with one of my parents to learn from what I wrote: what to watch out for, using this wording instead, try to use these words more or less, etc.

After all of that, (I think I wrote 15 essays in preparation for the test) I was ready! Of course, before that I studied how to write well and how to order words correctly to form sentences.

Now writing isn't so hard (go typing!)

I don't like it when people hate on atheists. I'm not one, but I think that it is ok that they believe what they believe. Just because they don't think there is a god doesn't mean they're bad people.
What's worse is that when people who call themselves Christians go out and judge other people when those people aren't Christians...

It's called: I know better and you're doing something wrong so I'm better than you.

That right there isn't being Christian at all.

I wouldn't say being an atheist is ok. I wouldn't call them out or anything and shove scriptures in their face though. I believe something different, but I won't go hating others and refusing to be friends with atheists. I'll listen to other people's beliefs, but then again, they should be willing to listen to my beliefs as well. Atheists shouldn't go out and hate Christians or others who believe that there is a God either.

Unfortunately, many people get into these heated debates about different issues and it boils down to this:
"I'm right"
"No, I'm right"
"Well, you're wrong, so ha!"
"But you're more wrong!"

It's not a discussion, it's a "who can beat the other side more with just saying 'I'm right and you're wrong' louder.

If both sides would just learn to listen attentively to the other side's worldview....We all have a worldview. Let's look at the different worldviews and determine what could very possibly be a better worldview.

Okay, that was long. If you read the whole thing, I commend you :) I hope others agree with what I've said - learn to discus things maturely.

It went well! I studied writing and practiced writing for about a month. I hadn't really done any good writing studying or practicing before that, but it turned out well! I passed the test and earned 3 college credits. :D

The test, it was a CLEP test.

College Composition.
50 multiple choice questions.
One 30 minute persuasive essay to write.
One 40 minute persuasive essay to write with citations.

Well the good thing about sharpie is that it comes off pretty easily. In the days before I joined MOCPages and before I used paint, I used to sharpie my minifigs to get designs I wanted. It comes off with a fair amount of water and rubbing with your thumb. Still, I understand your pain.

I know, although it's a bit windy :( I'm going to work outside, because I have a paper route to get some more money. It's not that much, 16 euros a month, but it's better than nothing.

You know one of the things I dislike most? (this will get long so be prepared to be so bored that your eyes melt out of your head. Beardless Dwarf's Glorious Halls and their affiliates take no responsibility for your boredom.)

In Honduras, people sit next to complete strangers all the time whereas in the US, people like to have at least a one-chair spacing between them and the person they don't know. In Honduras, they don't do that.

Well the thing I don't like is when I have to ride a public bus and I am sitting in a small seat by myself (I like to be left alone usually. It lets me think). Usually there is another seat right next to me, and seats that are completely empty. Two seats side-by-side that have NOBODY in them and people come and sit where? Right next to me of course. That irritates me SO much. I don't know why I let it bother me so much....

4. When people think you can stab somebody with an OTF switchblade by holding the closed knife up against them and firing it.
Explanation: The spring in an OTF (out the front) automatic knife is barely strong enough to slide the blade in and out of the handle, even in a super high-end OTF. Even if you try to stab through a piece of paper like this, the blade jams in the halfway open position.

So, if you were to try stabbing somebody like that, the tip of the blade might not even make it through their clothing.

END. OF. RANT.

I have a few more that are mocpages specific. These aren't hates, just dislikes.

1. sharpied clone troopers. If somebody wants to make some custom soldiers they should get one of those huge magnifying glasses and some actual paint. I like custom work, just not sharpie.

2. the batman tumbler, all versions. It has been done, re-done, and overdone. take a break for a few months, then maybe I will look at your tumbler. They all seem to be the same, so it has a "been there, seen that" quality to it.

3. poor photography. You might have the coolest MOC in the world, but if it looks like a blurry, over-contrasted mess that hurts my eyes to look at I probably won't give it a happy face. If nothing else, get a white bedsheet and drape it over a chair for an instant backdrop. If you can make a backdrop for your MOC or put it in an appropriate environment it will probably get a happy face from me.

4. Overdone intellectual property. Star wars, halo, whatever the current popular video game is. There are a few good MOCs that are IP based, but they get lost in a sea of garbage.

5. guns and modern military equipment/vehicles. But its not so much a dislike as a "meh". Once you have been around the real thing for a while the toy version raises no interest. There are all kinds of details that are lost when the item is LEGO'd, especially if the builder's only experience of them is through video games.

Belief in God is a reason for being a good person, to live how He intended. There are a lot of people who call themselves 'Christians' and believe that God is out there, but many don't acknowledge His presence and live like He doesn't exist. These people have not allowed Christ into their hearts and will not go to Heaven when they die, they are those that you called "BAD Christians".
I hope that helps to clear things up for everyone!

On the contrary, what I mean by "Bad Christians" are those who claim to be believers, but their behaviour is decidedly uncharitable, patronising, arrogant, condescending, judgemental, selfish and hypocritical. A good person is someone who places other people before themselves, regardless of what the motivation is. Whether it is belief in god, or belief in themselves, a good person is a good person.

Sorry for the rant, but associating faith with being a good person, and a lack of faith as being a bad person is precisely the kind of hypocrisy I hate.

Sorry about the confusion, I said belief in God is 'A' reason for being a good person, but I NEVER said that it is the only reason. Also you and I agree on what "Bad Christians" are, people who claim to be believers but live like God doesn't exist. I'm not sure how things got mixed up, this is exactly what I stated earlier.

If you don't mind me asking, what is your reason for being a good person.

I DO NOT like the sound that nail-file makes!
It just sends a tingle down my spine, my me cold, and sorta hurt my ears!
I have NO idea why....But I also believe that "each" person as a sound that annoys them. Another for me is my sister;D (at most times)

I'm not entirely sure we are on the same page here. you mentioned that in order to be a good person you needed to have god in your heart, but in order to be charitable, law abiding and honest, you don't need a faith at all. Some of the nicest, most generous people I know never attend church. Yet some of the most judgemental, venomous tongued people I know attend church every week.

I'm not going to state whether I personally believe in god, because that is no one else's business, but I am going to say I know some very nice people who don't believe, and I don't feel it is "being a good person" to judge them for their beliefs over their actions.

If they have done no harm to anyone, and only good with their lives, why should their "lack of faith" make them a bad person?

I am afraid you are not understanding what I'm saying. (Discussing things of value can always be difficult over the internet.)

I NEVER said 'that in order to be a good person you need to have God in your heart', I said people who have God in their heart have a desire to be a good person. I also know many non-Christians who are good people, really nice and kind. Everyone has a conscience and many choose to be good for reasons other than God, like consequences, emotions, est. However belief in God remains one of the top reasons.

I know! There's barely even a point to it:D It's like how some people watch "adventure time" as way of release;it's pretty much the same thing.
I probably shouldn't even call myself a Brony, because I don't watch the show anymore. However, there was a time (about a year ago) when I really did enjoy the show! I watched an episode like 2 days ago(since it had been a long time) and realized that the whole show was childish.
I mean, I love Mythical creatures...but really talking ponies?
I see how childish this show is, and am going to edit that comment;D

I don't LOVE gangnam style, but I do like it. It's a shame it never reached 2 million views, though. And what do we have to thank for that? THE STUP!D HARLEM SHAKE. Gangnam style was on its way to 2 million, but the harlem shake distracted people for just long enough to forget and move on.

Why?

WEEK ONE: In PE, the entire class is forced to learn a new dance. It's completely daggy. Picture the lames dance you've ever done in primary school and times it by ten, in highschool. The song we hjad to do it for was 'Blurred Lines' by Robert Thicke. Not only do we do it, but the whole school does it. So, we have to hear it every period of every day.

WEEK TWO: Still going

WEEK THREE: Now this song is in my nightmares...

WEEK FOUR: PLEASE STOP!

WEEK FIVE (THIS WEEK): WHYYYYY!

WEEK SIX (NEXT WEEK, AND LAST WEEK OF TERM): This isn't gonna stop until the last day of term, isn't it...

Infact, as I'm typing this, I can hear the music playing from a couple of rooms down!

Historical landmarks that are desecrated or destroyed, vandalized, etc

Intellects that are useless to talk to (haha!)

Films that are being remade

Films and animation with pathetic plots, story lines, dubs and voice acting.

Anime with pathetic dubbing and pacing (Cowboy Bebop outranks them all!)

Badly cooked and cheap tasting food.

Annoying Orange

Cartoon Network

Stuart Snyder (who OWNs it now)

Disney (With exception of The Rescuers)

Star Wars (when Georgy Porgy put upon his s***pie on the Expanded Universe with Clown Wars and sold the rest to Disney)

Now, don't get the wrong idea. I don't hate the people who like the show (the bronies), and I respect that they wish to watch that show. Heck, I even have many brony friends my self. But still, I don't like the show.

I do like Lucky Star though! For those who don't know what that is, it's an anime that's style is rather similar to MLP.

It's cute.
It's well written.
It's adored by males everywhere.
It's hilarious.
Others look at people watching it and think they're weird.

And no, it doesn't have ponies. It has chibi-fied japanese highschool girls. ALL HAIL KONATA, LORD OF ALL OTAKU!

And in some rare but severe cases, if they're about to lose to you in a video game, they'll turn the console off before you finish. If they let you finish the game, the first they'll say is, "You cheated." or "I let you win." Or they'll say, "I never liked this game anyway." This sounds like something you'd outgrow after... oh, I don't know... you turned EIGHT, but most of the people who my younger brother keeps company with are in their early to mid teens and still act like this. I really dislike George Bush.

"Hail to The Thief"

If it wasn't for him, the United States would be a completely different country. Here was Iraq and Iran having a war of their own, and he thrust the US military into a fight that wasn't theirs to begin with, bringing Canada along with it.

And for what? Money. He wanted oil, that wasn't his to take.
Perhaps if he gave consultation they would have shared, for a price.

It's greedy people that I dislike. What you have, you should be grateful for. And if you want more, you work for it. You don't steal it.

I also dislike how a few things are run in the United States, such as welfare, health care, and banking systems.

In Canada here, that's all fine and dandy. The welfare system guarantees income for those unemployed, the universal health care system covers everyone, and banks here are actually trust worthy and honest.

I like the United States, but I don't like what has happened to it.
I want something significantly GOOD to happen to it.

Another thing that I don't like is close minded people.

It's good to be closed minded about, say, not drinking and drugs.
I will not try it, and I am set in stone.

But when someone suggests a change in act, or a new plan, or a new style, or something that may potentially bring about positive outcomes and they immediately pass it up.. it's a bit of an annoyance.

Just because it's different or new, they shoot it down without even trying it.

It's like children refusing to eat broccoli, claiming it's gross, without even trying it.

.. and to be honest I loved broccoli despite what kids may have thought.

Being open minded is probably one of the best things you can be.

True, but maybe that is because Macs have a better OS for day-to-day usage.

We are both LEGO fans, it does not matter what computer we access MOCpages on.

OK, I'm going to let an admin make the final call on this, but for now, this topic is locked. (David or whoever, when you get on, do make a call on this)

When your supposedly best friend is so demanding that he tells you to get him milk, and he tells you that you HAVE to get this one case and a screen protector for your ipad when you buy your ipad, and he tells your friend that he HAS to get this one ipod game and when he's annoying because he's so loud and he laughs at you just because you say earpods Instead of earbuds.

Sigh....

And when it takes so to scroll al the way down the What do You Dislike conversation and you want the administrators to make a new What do You Dislike conversation...

Dude, why didn't you just ask? I'll open one right away.
