20,000 or less sorted system. 5000 is Creator, which I never sort out, 10000 is Bionicle/technic, and some of the remaining 23000 isn't sorted. So under 20,000 system pieces available usually.
I might part out some of my creator sets though, since I only ever build alternates for the cars. And the houses have great pieces (50 1x2 dark grey tiles in 4886!)

I see. I probably have around 39000 due to the spare parts in sets that brickset doesn't count. And I'm not sure if it counts my duplicate sets.

Too bad you can't see the piece count for other people, you can just see the sets :/

I didn't think of that either...
Then again, I got some sets without the minifigures

Nope, it goes off of the official piece counts, so no extra pieces. I have a few incomplete sets from other people (a star wars set and a few bionicles, one of which has so many pieces missing that I didn't list myself as having it.)

For some reason Chris said that the round wouldn't start tomorrow, like it's supposed to. Which means we'll only get two weekend days for our entries, unless the round starts on Wednesday/Thursday.

Wednesday!? That is my sister's birthday! And on Saturday she will have some sort of art and crafts party and I don't even get to see my friends!

So I need to be in round two. Otherwise my Lego bricks will just stand there in the boxes and shelves, and the mini figures saying to me "Play with us..."

I've also used colored lights....though blue seems like it can't be captured on camera unless it is blurry.

It seems that the camera I use can get the black light effects pretty well.

A Canon camera http://www.amazon.com/Canon-Powershot-Digital-Optical-Stabilized/dp/B0009GZSSO Kinda old, but it works pretty well.

Yes and no. I have about 1/4 a bin of just useless pieces (Thousands of technique pins ext.) Other than that, I'm just about to buy bins for all my colored bricks, so yellow Bricks go with yellow bin ext. While I still be sorting all the detailing pieces like cheese slopes, studs, clips, vent, joints, technique, rods, weapons, minfigures, and so on in more organized methods. So yes, I do have my sorting done to an extent:)

Here's a tip. Give people something meaningful to reply to; just saying "reply to this" or "hi" or "I'm bored" won't really help. (note, I just now saw as I was typing this comment when you said "hi" to me)

Okay!

One great thing is to ask good questions that aren't too broad but not too specific (not that easy to do on a message board type thing like it is here, it's a little easier in real life when you could ask more specific questions about people's lives since it is not on the internet and it is a bit more safe if you know what I mean)

That doesn't really work, considering how a lot of my lego was stuff I got for free. My first lego collection was gotten from my neighbors (I still use those pieces to this day), and a couple of months ago I got a huge pile of lego from a school friend. Also, I'm getting another pile of lego from another friend this week (at least I hope I am, because he keeps forgetting). Apparently it has super rare star wars sets, and maybe even mister gold! Probably not for the MG, though...

LDD=only being able to see creations on a screen, never being able to "play" with creations, never being able to have them on display.
Plus flaws in building style.
Real bricks=interesting style, better pictures, displaying creations, playing with creations, NPU, interesting techniques...

Let's analyse your arguments and render them useless.

"only being able to see creations on a screen, never being able to "play" with creations, never being able to have them on display."
True, however LDD works as a tool connected with real bricks. You build the thing with real bricks and the LDD acts as a backup. Also, it gives people instructions and parts lists in case you want to buy the parts for a second one later.

"Plus flaws in building style."
Not nessicarely. I've found ways around that. Also, it requires a lot more precision and technique. There are good creations that use LDD. Trust me.

"Real bricks=interesting style, better pictures, displaying creations, playing with creations, NPU, interesting techniques... "
But you are limited to the parts you have. Besudes, I have many parts but they aren't in the right colour. So I use both.

Sound like a valid argument?

Nice okay. Bye to you.

So what if he says he doesn't want to debate politics?

I myself have stopped debating politics, religion, etc. on here because of at least four reasons:
1. It's a LEGO website and I want to do things relating to the LEGO brand.
2. Debating on heated topics on the internet in general is not a good idea because once you post it, it is there forever. (pretty much)
3. I'd rather debate with people that I can see face-to-face in a sensible manner and not behind a computer screen.
4. It can be deceiving on how people are saying the things that they are saying which can lead to assumptions - which isn't that great for deciding what stance someone else has on a subject.

Pretty much any piece in those sets is a useful piece for me :D

Sort of a collector, I like the colors and shapes of the sets generally (I like the style of the minifigures too, I don't do much yellow in my MOCs). I like the whole look of the theme as well.

How does it require more precision and technique? Building style is not as expressive in LDD, it doesn't convey any emotion and such which real bricks can do.

"Real bricks=interesting style, better pictures, displaying creations, playing with creations, NPU, interesting techniques... "
But you are limited to the parts you have. Besudes, I have many parts but they aren't in the right colour. So I use both.

Limitations aren't always a bad thing. They force you to be creative with what you have. For instance, on my MO entry, I wanted metallic silver armor, but have few metallic silver pieces. So I used Bionicle pieces, silver ore, and exhaust/engine pieces for armor.

LDD has some benefits: avoiding illegal techniques, piece count, instructions... But as a supplement, and not a replacement, to real bricks it works best.

I'm too lazy.
My store is never updated (once every half year) on either site so I don't even bother checking it.

I think if LEGO did their own thing people would use it :/

True....but maybe once it is updated more people will use it.....time will tell.

Pretty much any piece in those sets is a useful piece for me :D

Sort of a collector, I like the colors and shapes of the sets generally (I like the style of the minifigures too, I don't do much yellow in my MOCs). I like the whole look of the theme as well.

Me too, but I already have all those pieces (light grey masonry bricks, rock pieces, brown tiles, etc.)
I agree about fleshies...sometimes. Yellows are good for silly/whimsical creations, but fleshies are better for more serious MOCs.

Yeah, for me I just want a bunch more of them without getting the same sets.

I have a decent amount of the yellows from the Ninjago and miscilanious things.

Yeah, I like to use the fleshies for my LOM stuff. Plus I have a lot of different faces instead of doubles for yellows.

Ethics is a subject? How does that work?

It's all over the place really....

Basically I study a whole bunch of philosophers and their theories and then general points of ethics that relate to businesses, government, the medical profession, and "normal" ethics and their different standpoints.

It is interesting to note, however, that the study of ethics wasn't around in the Western world until after many people left their Christian faith (my parents never had an ethics course just to give you an idea as to see that it wasn't that long ago). I'd call it a loss of foundation. Now there are hundreds of different looks on ethics in general and what to do in certain situations or how to approach them. That is what you would expect when people try to come up with their own ethics and understanding of morality without mentioning or noting God.

That sounds like a really boring class. Blech. Personally, I see little use for ethics. They're so arbitrary. Who is to say what is right and what is wrong?

If I did not believe that God is real, then I would say that there is absolutely NO reason to who says what is "right" and "wrong" because there is no such thing. Do what you want, but be aware of the power houses who will try to put you in prison if you do something "wrong" that they decided just because they are in power. It would be what they call in ethics, natural justice - the strong determine what is right. But without God, there is no such thing so their theoretically shouldn't be any rules anywhere, but it just so happens that society works better when there are rules and regulations that determine the things that are ethical, moral, right, wrong, etc.

However, I do believe in God, and thus, who are we to say what is right and wrong when He is the all powerful, all supreme, everlasting, omnipresent, and all knowing God and He has set down those things.

Yup, pretty boring class, but I guess it is useful in the way that I can understand a little bit better how other people think.

Ah, the miracles of the modern world. People prefer to question and explore these days rather than swallow centuries of tradition. If this effect spreads, religious warfare will become a relic of history. Isn't it marvelous?

I think that people just left their actual foundations and found themselves desperately floating in the ocean with nothing to support them except for their own selves. I see myself as on the land living a happy life while watching others struggle to stay afloat on their weak "foundations" for ethics and morality.

I actually think reigious warfare never ended and it never will, it is just that the name changed - worldview warfare.

Ok then... (Novel coming, you have been warned)

Firstly, even though I'm homeschooled, I do go to co-op classes for kid-to-kid interaction. In that, I'm in this government roleplay thing called Ecopolis, and I'm currently managing this kid's campaign for an office. He's a pleasure to work with though. The other kid though... Not so much. He's barely done anything, so it's mostly on our shoulders.

Secondly, my music practice. Not only have I been taking piano, (for three years now, actually) but now I'm also taking guitar. It's a lot of work, but it's rewarding. My friend has me labeled as a prodigy, lol.

Thirdly, art. I like to draw, granted.

BUT, when you have a one-week deadline to get stuff ready to enter in the yearly fair, that gets tedious, lol.

So yeah, busy. Very busy.

Couple other things too, but I'm only gonna let friends in on those, lol.
You are a lot more busy than me.

I have 3 more football games until the playoffs, and then there are two teams we compete with there.

Not much homework, I am steadily learning piano, and I want to learn guitar.

No big school project at the moment.

It's already been a month since school started, and I'm ready for a big, long break.

Do you realize how many pieces that creation had? It's ridículous to expect someone to buy 1000s of pieces, just so that they don't have to take a creation apart.

I take it you've never built a huge creation? At least in system, anyways.

When you build one, you often end up using just about all of your useable pieces. While you could probably build some things without those pieces, you can't make anything very big, and it typically would have to be something in a very different theme.

No... not yet anyways.
It could be that David is called to build in a theme for small creations, or ones that use very different pieces than in his R1 entry.

Small creations still need refinement, and refinement requires having a variety of pieces to choose from.
And his R1 entry was so diverse that it used a lot of different types of pieces.

I like a lot of creations. If I said I liked a creation, then I like it :)

I just wish they (MOCpages) had a 1-10 rating system where 5-10 counts as a like. Many times I like a creation, but it isn't necessarily worth a "5" compared to some other creations out there you know?
