I'm elven and I make all my MOC one color (Will the stuff that needs to be one color) and it's not hard. Just try to sort your LEGO into different bins with th different colors (Like this http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/377111 ) and you will be able to build in mostly one color! Just me helping!

Hmmm... Maybe use bigger print? Or, maybe try to use a different approach to your paper topic. Or, you could expand more on something your paper. I would caution against "filler," that is, just putting stuff in your paper to fill it up. Just some ideas... Hope this helps! :-)

What I usually do is build things out of my lego box, make LDD copies and then move onto building new stuff. Then, I order parts off PAB and glue those MOCs together. That way, it's a perfect balance.

Okay, the kinds of MOCs I build transform. Although they stay together, I have a little sister that is rather clumsy. So, I glue them so that whenever they fall over, they stay together. And besides, these are just permanent copies of previous MOCs I've made. Haven't you ever had the sorrow of taking apart a special MOC to build another? Using LDD to make a digital copy, I can avoid this. Besides, it's not like I'm the guy at the end of the lego movie.

Yeah, which is why I only do it once a year with my christmas money.

It's such a shame. It's for a number of reasons.

Usual American Price
+ shipping costs
+ taxes
+ delivery to stores
+ extra money corperations place on Lego to make profit
+ extra money corperations have set so thatr stores also get profit to pay their employees
+ GST (more tax)

And in the end, you get double the price. The Lego online store's no better. They just follow what the other stores in Aus are doing. :(

Not for my MOCs (the eyes). The ball joints are what I'm after. Vulk's cool because he's got four sets of ball joints, and he's also the one with the most pieces. Zaptors also cool, because he has those long pieces with the ball joints and he also has one of the electriticy weapons. Those are really good for transformer MOCs.

I'll first try to make a legoformer (lego transformer) with only the parts from those two sets. Then, I'll make a third version of a previous MOC using those ball joints and some of my own pieces. Finally, I'll save the ball joints (and the electric piece as well) and keep them saved for the PAB version of that MOC when I buy it, because I don't think PAB sells the ball joints yet.

Speaking of mixels, how much are they over on your side? In Australia, they're $6 (which is surprisinly cheap compared to our other Lego sets and their part count).

Ball joints are always the best for articulation. Still, it's good not to go overboard and make your MOC with nothing but ball joints.

Oh, and I'm totally not alluding to anything...

The parts I'm referring to are actually the grey slopes. The ball joints are good (for hinged rocks/wall segments and such) but the legend beasts are a much better source for those.

Shuff is probably my favorite for the textured slope(s)

I'm more of a transformer MOCer, so the medieval theme isn't really that important for me. Also, I don't care about the slopes. I ONLY want the little ball joints, and anything else is a great bonus (like the lightning element). I don't really care for the legend beasts, because they're overpriced (20 each bucks in Australia).

I have a vastly different philosophy of gluing together MOCs. The way I see it, when you glue a MOC, that's it. Those parts are gone. Used up. They are dead.

Also, I checked out a few of the Australian stores on bricklink.com. The prices are comparable to US bricklink stores. Some people prefer to get their LEGO as a set, but I have found that bricklink is a good way to get a part if you don't want to buy the whole set that it comes in.

I have a vastly different philosophy of gluing together MOCs. The way I see it, when you glue a MOC, that's it. Those parts are gone. Used up. They are dead.

But, if you want a permanent MOC like me, then it should be fine. Besides, I build MOCs again and again with a different pile. The parts I order off PAB are specifically for those MOCs, and nothing else. I want those permanent characters to keep.
Quoting JWG 258
Also, I checked out a few of the Australian stores on bricklink.com. The prices are comparable to US bricklink stores. Some people prefer to get their LEGO as a set, but I have found that bricklink is a good way to get a part if you don't want to buy the whole set that it comes in.

I don't get LEGO as a set, I just want the parts. Also, PAB is good for getting new parts. PAB gives you parts that are used, and the new ones are a little expensive, whereas on PAB they're straight off the production line. Besides, it's just a personal preference.

What are your thoughts on the new Agents line?

I don't know, I'm still stuck in the 2000s with Life on Mars being the pinnacle of Lego space for me. If anything, legos have gotten a lot more round, everything is sort of bubbly now, but I guess things evolve. I don't'really follow lego's sets anymore except for one thing: the minifig faces. I don't like how there's a lot of angry ones in there, there used to be none of that before, in any lego theme. I still see the minifig with an innocent smile, all-black lines drawn on a yellow surface, no matter if it was a pirate, a policeman, a spyrius agent etc... These new ones are getting ridicolously detailed and are losing some of that Lego's famous innocence.

What do you mean by more round/bubbly?

With the double-sided faces they have now, I wish there would be more happy faces instead of both sides being angry (or boring) and then super-angry.

I think they parodied that in the Lego Movie. Good Cop/Bad Cop was a good edition to the flipped faces.

Who's using the new ball joints from the legend beasts and the mixels? I've tried using them on Legoformer MOCs, and they work REALLY well because they allow for simple transformation and super articulation simultaniously! :)

I don't like them. The original mobile command center was the best play set ever, plethora of very useful parts, the new one looks j-nky and half-baked.

The first 3 are pretty good, and the last one is okay, but I don't really like the other two. And from a parts perspective, they don't seem especially good (from a medieval building perspective)

If it's anything like my Volvo, it'll be very comfortable and smooth to drive. Unfortunately, mine had the left headlight and the entire front bumper ripped off by an idi@t in a black F-150. The damage to the front and to the radiator is extensive enough, and my car is old enough that we're thinking the insurance company may just end up totaling it. :(

On the bright side, it was determined that the wreck was definitely NOT my fault.
