--Creatures--

http://lands-of-mythron-royal-archives.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Creatures

Dragons:
Flying beasts that breath fire. There are two types of dragon, the fire dragon, and the frost dragon, fire dragons are seen pretty much at any point of the map, but frost dragons restrict their territory to the cold regions such as Bodus.

Eor (Pronunciation=Yo-ur):
The Eor is a cross between an eagle and a boar. But with a twist. Instead of bone-like tusk, the Eor has golden tusk (Yes its "real" gold). How this is possible, we still do not know. The Eor was often killed by poachers and is now near extinction. It lives in mountains, and anywhere with tall trees.

Fire-toads:
Fire-toads are small, reptilian predators which live in the tropical undergrowth of the southern lands. They are capable of breathing fire to hunt their prey, and are popular as pets among explorers and the wealthy.

Giant Spiders:
Giant spiders are massive arachnids that can range from the size of a horse to that of a small elephant. They roam the dark swamps and forests and are usually also seen in caves and abandoned mines.

Giants:
Giants are towering beings usually possessing superhuman strength, and often special powers. Not much is known about the Giants who roam Mythron, except that they like to steal livestock for food, and occasionally they attack settlements that are build too close to their home. They are usually peaceful creatures unless provoked.

Growlok:
Growloks are huge, brutal warriors usually found in desert areas, where they lie in the sand waiting for prey. They are hunchbacked and very strong, though not very smart.

Kraken:
Strange Sea creature, capable of devouring whole ships.

Mammoths:
Mammoths are massive elephantine creatures and one of the largest animals in Mythron, they are typically hairy with a sloping back and sometimes they have four long curved tusks.

Morgols:
Prowling in abandoned mines and tunnels, they prey on any adventurers or travellers who come close to them. They are blinded by the sun so do not go outside unless necessary. They live in small houses made of mud and stone and are carnivores and cannibals. They are dangerous and are best avoided.

Narslog:
Narslogs are huge sluglike beasts that inhabit deep tunnels and caves. They are blind, relying entirely on their sense of smell, hearing, and touch to find their prey. They have two sets of feelers, a large mouth lined with razor-sharp teeth, and a pair of tentacles for ensnaring prey. Their tentacles are covered in tiny spines covered in a venom that can temporarily paralyze an entire limb. Narslogs use these to disable their prey and drag it helplessly into their waiting mouths.

Scrindil:
Huge reptilian creature, with many razor sharp teeth for ripping and goring their prey. Extremely dangerous.

Sea serpents:
Fishermen and sailors have reported sightings of these mysterious aquatic beasts

Stone giants:
Huge stone-like beings, Legend says that they are the guardians of the mountains. Although not much is know of them, adventurers every now and then will report encounters.

Trolls:
Distant cousins to the Yetis, they are big and strong, but slow and dull-minded.

Wargs:
A bigger, and more ferocious form of wolf.

Yetis:
Snow creatures, very dangerous and strong.

Zila Lizards:
Big lizards with many teeth. Dangerous.

--Races--

Arachneyans:
Man-arachnid tribes that live in caves, forests, and deserts. They are not well known to people for they mainly leave their habitats at night as most humans fear their differences, they are all born with eight legs two like normal arms like that of humans and two like normal man legs, the remaining four are located on their backs and can retract to give the look of only having four limbs. They fear larger bodies of water as most of them can't swim, they also stay a safe distance from cities and towns as they feel safer away from them, they have been known to be friendly to the few humans who have actually seen them and are mostly vegetarians. They also aren't known to wear armor due to their armor like exoskeletons.

Cyclops:
A member of a race of savage one-eyed beings. While Cyclops used to be huge, now they're about the size of an average human, but stronger.

Dwarves:
Short, bearded, half man-like being. They are very strong and hardy. They have great endurance.

Elves:
Just your typical elves. There are not many left in the land today. The Title of Elves also classifies for Dark Elves, Wood Elves, and so on.

Grers:
Grey humanoid creatures. Very strong. This race is often sold into slavery for their incredible strength. They make superb warriors.

Halidra (Plural: Halidran):
Known for: Living in clans from 10-100. Typically they live in huts and roam the lands, attacking whatever they think they can beat. They typically have brutish swords, and light armor for traveling quickly. They are very very fast (about twice as fast as humans and Orcs) and are extremely agile. They also have incredible sight and smell. They are natural hunters.

Humans:
Just your typical Human

Ilbren:
Small, a bit shorter than Dwarves. Typically smart, sneaky, and agile. Not warriors, and are often peaceful, keeping to themselves.

Minotaurs:
Strong half man-half bull creatures. Very dangerous. They are quite aggressive. Quick to anger, impatient and often times competitive.

Orcs:
Strong Creatures. They are very fierce in combat. Dangerous.

Sandrins:
A reclusive sand species, their villages can be found in the midst of most deserts. They usually wear turbans, and have wrappings around their skin and face, with grey skin.

Skinchangers- Some races can assume, or transform into great animals, or beasts whenever they wish, although it is pretty rare.

Taksils:
A diverse group of reptilians, about the size of a human. Most are uncivilized and live like animals despite their intelligence. They are extremely agile and certain species possess toxic venom.

Ughan:
Ughan are fierce tribal warriors usually found in jungle areas. They fight best in groups and largely rely on their chief in battle. They see through a dark patch on their head and have no other senses, meaning that they cannot feel pain.

Vampires:
People afflicted with an unknown disease have been drastically changed into vampires. They are evil, they sometimes come out at night to feed on people's blood. They also have a heightened vulnerability to sunlight and fire. There is said to be a clan of pure blooded vampires in the unclaimed lands.

Werewolves:
Lycanthropy is a disease which permits people to transform in to a werewolf. Werewolves are wolf-like humanoid creatures with razor sharp claws and a set of large teeth. Some people think that Lycanthropy is a blessing, but others think it is a disease. People who have mastered this disease can transform each day at will.

Most races can be changed into vampires or werewolves except for Minotaurs, Taksils, and Cyclops.

The Official History of Mythron!

BB = Before the Battle of Unbinding
AU = After Unbinding
I. 5000 BB- Orcs are present in the isles, as are stone giants and primitive dwarves.  The dwarves soon disappear beneath the earth while the other creatures maintain nomadic, hunter-gatherer existences.  Few humans who chance to land here survive.
I. 4000 BB- Primitive, seafaring cultures reach the islands that are to become the Lands of Mythron.  They bring primitive religions, magic and technology such as bronze-working with them and split into tribes over vast areas of lands.  Some are never to change this lifestyle.
II. 1300 BB- Civilization gradually reaches the LOM through a combination of innate ingenuity and chance brushes with foreign sailors.  New advances, such as iron, glass and order are spread to the inhabitants of Rainos and Mythron.
III. 1200 BB- Semi-advanced kingdoms rise and fall, leaving treasures and ruins behind for future explorers.
IV. 800 BB- A mighty general emerges on the island and begins to unite the dozens of local kingdoms.
V. 800 BB- The Country and then Empire of Mythron developed under the care of this first king and his regal successors. These years were known for petty uprisings, kidnapping, and territorial control by Mythron to gain the whole map.
VI. 200 BB- The primitive clans of Rainos are subjugated and incorporated into a new province of Mythron. These following 100 years were considered to be the Golden Age of Mythron.
VII. 100 BB- Rot sets into the politics of Mythron. Financial power, bribery, and deceit replaces military might and diplomatic reasoning as the driving force in the kingdom.
VIII. 10 BB- The evil king of Mythron who reigned for the last 70 years died, and his successor tried to bring the restless Mythron back together.
IX. 7 BB- Sir Bartok, the Duke of Rainos, leads his province in a war of independence.
X. 6 BB- Troop withdrawals from the territory of Bodus cause an increase in crime. Public enemies and brigands establish a brotherhood centered in and around Bodus.
XI. 0 BB 5 years ago- The King of Mythron is killed at the Battle of Unbinding. His eldest son takes the throne and the worst of the fighting ends.
XII. 3 AU- The pirate port of Worsan organizes its patrons into an island empire known as Enalica.
XIII. 5 AU- A new chapter begins and so do the modern Lands of Mythron.

1. 5 AU (Spring)- A feeble attempt at a general Rainosian invasion of Mythron fails to go over.

2. 5 AU (Spring)- Rumors spread of a secret council in Bodus.

3. 5 AU (Spring)- Outlaw council held in Bodus.

4. 5 AU (Summer)- Mythron and Rainos hold a truce to attack and track down the Outlaws.

5. 5 AU (Summer)- Outlaws begin to carry out the plans set down in Bodus. Thousands of diamonds are stolen from Guaire in the outlaws' first strike against the truce between Mythron and Rainos.

5. 5 AU (Summer)- Furious, thousands of Rainosian warriors pursue the outlaws and take control of a monster-infested tunnel leading from Rainos to Mythron.

6. 5 AU (Summer)- The Guaire Diamonds are revealed as fakes! King Bartok of Rainos had a wizard enchant common stones to make them precious and so lure outlaws to Guaire. Unfortunately, some real diamonds were stolen, and some of the enchanted diamonds were preserved from changing back into their original form, so the victory is unclear.

7. 5 AU (Summer)- Outlaws sack Tomeu! This is the outlaw's second strike against the tattered truce between Mythron and Rainos, and both Enalican and Rainosian raiders fight for their shares of the profit. Following the city's capture, reformed outlaws establish the new state of Nerogue, a sub-nation devoted to order and justice. Nerogueians work to maintain positive relations with Mythron, even to the point of reimbursing their former enemies for losses sustained in the battle.

8. 5 AU (Summer)- Mythron attacks Rainos with a mighty fleet.  The invasion backfires when the fleet is broken and Outlaws run amuck in Mythron.  This seems to be the darkest day in Mythronian history, as the faction and its ally of Nerogue are sandwiched between two mighty powers on either side with Enalica rising in the south,

9. 5 AU (Autumn)- Enalica regroups to form a union of raiders and an organization known as the Black Lotus rises among the Outlaws. Many Outlaws are recruited to the order for unknown purposes, and raiding increases dramatically along the coast of Mythron.

These are facts/trivia/policies/history about the Nerogueians that are made up by the faction leaders and other members of LOM that have been approved as official history by the Nerogueian faction leader. If you would like to add to this ongoing list, then go to the Nerogue faction thread.
Nerogue thread:
http://www.mocpages.com/group_conversation.php?id=22392&topicid=90097

• General History

Nerogue emerged from the chaos in Mythorn that ensued from the successful rise of Rainos. Tomeu, the distant, deceptive, and rebellious city of Mythron (it got to the point where no letters could go in or out of the city without review, for the fake army of Mythron was running the city dictatorially) was conquered by the Outlaws. Relieved from their bondage, the loyal people of Mythron left to go to true Mythorn cities. The Outlaws and those who stayed in the city established their own state - Nerogue.

• Policies

Justice, honor, integrity, and truth. Whenever there is injustice, you can be sure a Nerogueian will be there standing and defending for what is right.

• Specific History

• Random facts (could be past or present)

- They have never allied with Rainos. They are currently in an allience with Mythron.

If you want to know more about Rainos or want to see if you can add something to its history, ask in the thread called, "Council of Rainos - Faction Thread". The key aspect to remember is that the king has ruled for five years, but he has no real power over the innumerable clans, who do whatever they want and have allied with every faction except Nerogue in the past months.

Thank you.

Can I have a reptilian character? The race could be Zila-sapien or Scrindilite, to tie in with LOM. The minifigure would be a Ninjago snake person.
I will appreciate an answer as soon as possible fellow admins.

Freeling is the boss on creatures, but my policy is to go with something if there are no rules against it and see if the laws catch up.

It does sound like a good idea to put those Ninjago characters to use. Maybe we can think up uses for Stormtroopers and clones, too... They could be Enalican forces, potentially.

No, just crossing a bridge while Mythron is gone. I don't know if that's good enough to add it for the UCMA. The rules aren't clear on what outlaws have to do but raiding is implied I believe.
Do you prefer Zila-sapien or Scrindilite?

Sounds fine, except for the names. Try to make something else up, because A scrindilite in LOM would be like saying a Monkeyite, or a bearite in real life. :P But sure, I don't see why you cant use the ninjago characters.

I dont know. try to use google translate, type in Serpent, and see what it is in a different languages if you don't have any other ideas. I might even update the creatures list next week. I also had a note on some native plants in mythron... Hopefully I didn't lose it..

-Exileseat (eks-ill-eh-seet) or (exile-seat) though more often pronounced (eks-ill-eh-seet).

Exileseat is a place where men and woman who are banished from anywhere in Mythron come to live. It is small, but most of the residents know how to fight. Many outlaws who are tired of running come to live here, as well as other warriors who have no place in towns. The town relies on hunting and sometimes Raiding, but mostly they are hired as mercenaries. They do not belong to any faction, since they are on an island.

You can post here, as long as you stay on topic. Freeling is in charge of adding creatures, and he will consider your proposal when he sees it. I like the idea of centaurs - there are so many ways to make them with Lego.

I think the reason it says it doesn't list them all is so you aren't restricted to a certain number of races; you may add your own and they'll be official (as long as they are medieval/fantasy-ish races).

can you update the creature list so I know all the creatures and also how about adding imps, (the head could be the devil head from the lego monster tic tac toe game) centuars, and maybe some sort of elemental?

No Imps, fairies, or unicorns. This isn't quite that type of fantasy. Maybe an elemental.....

You can post here, as long as you stay on topic. Freeling is in charge of adding creatures, and he will consider your proposal when he sees it. I like the idea of centaurs - there are so many ways to make them with Lego.

I don't know if I am allowed to post here or not, and if not, then I apologize, but I was wondering if there could be centaurs in Mythron. Maybe somewhere an an almost unexplored island, or in some kind of hidden valley or something…

I'm sorry it took so long for me to reply. I completely missed this because I was on vacation. Anyways, Centaurs? Those fit in the category of the certain types of fantasy creatures that I don't want in LOM. I mean, if we allow Centaurs, then someone else could come along and argue about adding Unicorns... So no.

Impressive memory, my friend! I'd completely forgotten that that was in the book!

I don't think Lego makes blue beards, though, so any color you have will probably be fine.

The dwarfs in the hobbit trilogy (which I am very excited to continue seeing in December) had colored beards they would look hideous.

No, i mean the book, not the movie, it says
" "I am so sorry to keep you waiting!"he was going to say, When he saw that it was not Gandalf at all. It was a dwarf with a blue beard tucked into a golden belt, and very bright eyes under his dark-green hood, as soon as the door was opened, he pushed inside, just as if he had been expected"
Yes, the hoods were different colours, but Dwalin had a blue beard,

I'm pretty sure that it was a very light blue beard. Kinda like a grey beard with a light blue tint. But I don't know.

I'm glad they didn't follow the book precisely when they were making the movies. LOTR could handle it, but The Hobbit was written for a younger audience.

(But i do know that the dwarfs had blue, yellow, and other coloured beards)...

As a matter of fact, i just looked up the text. The only dwarves whose beards were colored were Dwalin (blue), Balin (white), and Kili and Fili (yellow/blond). The rest only have the color of their hoods named.

These guys are faster and speedier. And if we're going to take the time to say they are a class of orc, we may as well just say that is is a different race. Otherwise we may have to deal with adding different variations of species/races.

Mirelurks? Lily-trolls? Swamplings? Moss Men? Yoda? Water Scrills? There are plenty of names to think of...Chose one O' these if ya need one.

Also, be sure to add this:

Cho-sun: A race which has a very disturbing price for the cost of immortality. After some time, the bodies of these creatures rot away, leaving bones. This race has been also blessed with high concentrations of magic, and are very civilized and skilled in many arts; though at the price of being scary.

Edit it as you wish, but please keep the format along the lines of this. I have a Cho-Sun in one of my MOCs, and there's a player on here with one as his character.

I have a new race to add

Dracu:(pronounced Dray-coo) More commonly called "Pure Vampires" since they have no human DNA with the Vampire curse, with the appearances of skeletal demons with glowing red eyes, pales skin, little flesh and almost no identifying appearances to distinguish them from each other. Due to immortality, enhanced vampiric powers and the fact that they are nearly impossible to kill Dracu's have no need and rarely use armor. Dracu's are rare and generally live in clans, the largest being the Valtari Clan in the far north of Rainos.
(to make them use skeleton faces and Barbosa torsos and legs with white hands)

And to add more detail to werewolves according to official definitions:

Werewolf: beings who turn into wolves at the full moon and rarely have control over themselves in their Primal State.

Lycanthrope: according to Greek mythology Lycanthropes are werewolves who complete control over their abilities and actions in their wolf form and can "transform" whenever they like.

Two new races added to the wiki. Though they are already know, here they are:

Halflings: Small, a bit shorter than Dwarves. Typically smart, sneaky, and agile. Not warriors, and are often peaceful, keeping to themselves.

Dwarfs where also added

Few questions. What is life like 2000 years or so before right now. When in the history do elves first appear, and where do they start their decline.

2000 years ago, Mythron did not exist as a country. Even the largest civilizations in the island would have been primitive - advances from overseas would not end the LOM's Bronze Age for seven more centuries. I would say that something akin to ancient Greece would be the limit of advancement at that time. There would be no iron and no chain or scale mail, and society would probably take the form of city-states or tribes. Stirrups had not yet been invented, which also means that knights on horseback did not exist. This is a tricky question - I have some knowledge of the middle ages, but this time period could almost be considered prehistoric for much of the LOM.

Elves are easier to explain. They were never a major demographic in the LOM, but they were probably around as long as humans were with their influence peaking after 100 years ago. Your character could easily have been present in 2000 BB, which roughly equates to 700 BC in actual history.

I don't know how much research you're willing to do, but the most powerful military in 700 BC was the Late Assyrian Empire. Their military techniques and weapons are mostly known from a series of reliefs depicting the Assyrian siege of Lachish. Google Lachish Seige Reliefs to get some images, but overall they used wooden siege towers and carts, with spears, slings, and bows.

They had steel in the Middle East by 1000 BC, and the Assyrians definitely had iron weapons thanks to the Hittites. The LOM's advancements are a little different; some of their dates are based on the history of Britain and all are about thirteen centuries off from the real world because the LOM most closely represents a society of the 1300s.

They fear larger bodies of water as most of them can't swim, they also stay a safe distance from cities and towns as they feel safer away from them, they have been known to be friendly to the few humans who have actually seen them and are mostly vegetarians. This is just a question! I'm not hinting at anything (yet)! What would a child of an elf and a human be like? Like would it be a human who lives longer than a normal human, and has elflike qualities, or something like that?

In LOM, A Elf/Human cross, is not exactly normal, but is possible. I'll say that the child would have some of the features of a human, AND an elf. (Pointy ears, swiftness.. etc.) But the life-time is lessened, although it is longer than that of the average humans.

I noticed that we don't really have any water-dwelling races in that races list. Maybe some kind of amphibian or fish-like (or maybe even squid-like) humanoid would be interesting. No mermaids though, they would not fit the atmosphere maintained in LOM...

I think that if there were an aquatic species, there would be more people going under water... :P But grers don't count just because they can hold their breaths. They still live on the land.

Typically people use Uruk-Hai as Halidra, so they're like red-skinned orcs. Orcs, by the way, typically refers to any humanoid with a green head. I don't know anything about Growloks, unfortunately.

So may I have permission to create the appearance of the Growlok? One other thing, whoever is in charge of the creatures should have a link at the end of each description to a creation of that creature. It would make help stop confusion. Specifically mine.

That's a harder question than you might think. True, minotaurs and satyrs come from the same mythology, but so do centaurs, and centaurs have been banned by Freeling since early in the game. If you could come up with a good design for a satyr that doesn't look like... what was it that Free said about centaurs? "Magic, fairy princess pony stuff - yay!!!" then you've got a better chance of getting them approved. Sorry I can't give you an answer, this is Free's turf.

I was origanally going to use two peg legs, but it decided to use the Minotaur legs instead. I doesn't look like "Magic, fairy princess pony stuff" at all. It looks pretty cool. The only thing that would make it look better is horns on the head, but there is no hair like that. Oh well. May I also add satyrs are half Goat, not horse, so it's impossible for them to look like "Magic, fairy princess pony stuff"

Since it was 5 years after the Battle of Unbinding when Freeling started LOM (5 After Unbinding), it's now 6 AU.

BB and AU are the official year measurements, corresponding to BC and AD.

I have a new idea for a species of sorts

DISCLAIMER: This is pretty much directly based off Warders from the book series "Wheel of Time" by Robert Jordan. I don't mean anything offensive to the book series, and am not trying to copy Jordan's description of Warders. The following description has been changed/modified for LOM.

A Warder was once a regular being, but, upon being bonded with a wizard becomes a Warder. Many of their physical attributes are enhanced and they have a longer lifespan. Very rare in Mythron.

A Warder is a person, traditionally male, who is bonded by an experienced wizard through the use of magic to become his/her bodyguard and protector.
The Warder bond has distinct benefits for both parties. The Warder gains greater stamina and physical prowess, a greater capacity to see what is right and what is wrong, and greater resistance to injury (not exactly invincible, but more like their skin is extra tough) The wizard, for their part, gains a bodyguard and protector, who is intrinsically linked to the wizard and can be compelled, to a certain extent, through the bond. Both parties are able to sense the other's general location, physical well-being and, to some extent, emotional state. A wizard with a Warder is rarely seen without his/her Warder.

I realize this is very similar to the blood pact, but this bond between two beings is much stronger, and more of a companionship than servitude.

Xhuxh. (pronounced zooz)

A race of small people who look like a cross between an elf and ilbren. They mainly live in caves and forests and are expert hunters because of their stealth. The xhuxh usually live in small tribes and are constantly quarreling with neighboring tribes although once befriended, they are extremely loyal. They are also not very bright.

Or Ilibren. That might work better, IMHO.

To nobody in particular:

When you look at our world, we have one sentient species. Count'em, one. Yet Earth has cultures ranging from the Inuit to feudal Japan to Renaissance Italy, all at the same time. Of course, LOM is a fictional world, but there are quite a few races to choose from already. If you have a great idea for a race such as hunters, scholars, or red-haired barbarians, take a look at what we already have, and see if you could create your culture from any of them.

Also, Freeling runs the creature thread, and he always has the right to approve a race or not. However, if you didn't ask first, what would be the result? Just one more thing to think about... :)
