When we find one that blows us away and use it to replace the current banner.

Not literally - I was not shoved from my comfortable bean-bag seat by an unseen force when I saw it - but Freeling is in charge of that challenge. I should have specified.

How do you do those upside down question marks? Do you just copy and paste them like I do with bullet points¿

Or do you do something cool with your keyboard?

It's all free because of donations :)
Just check out the GIMP website
http://www.gimp.org/
You'll notice that it is .org instead of .com
organization (non-profit)
company (profit)

Of course, non-profit organizations need to sustain themselves, so they have donations.

Actually, I just looked at your banner again. It looks great, but the words are too big, they're covering up the entire thing pretty much. The text should be like this - http://i1289.photobucket.com/albums/b505/Freeling16/swamp_traveller_by_andreasrocha-d58ehkk_zps892d9f83.jpg

You could have the forest be the first part of the challenge, where you are caught or tricked so that you end up on a galley for Rainos. I'm putting several different scenes into my entry.

It could be the outside area near a village where you are attacking people defending the village nearby.

No, it's more fun, goes on forever, and there are no losers. It's a fantasy game where each player creates a character, joins a faction, has adventures, competes in challenges (if he or she so desires) and earns points to gain more privileges. It's addicting, I'm afraid. There is a directory thread hidden in our conversation topics; that can point you to the information you need to start up.

No, nobody has to l o s e. It's sort of a perpetual fantasy RPG, with five factions (Enalica is being remodeled at the moment, and is therefore the best to join if you want to have a major say). Players build characters, who go on adventures, earn points, and compete in challenges. The homepage and the directory thread (not currently on the top ten list) both explain how to start up in the group.

I just spent one and a half hours making a story and choosing pictures. For a Freebuild. It was going to have an amazing story. I had it all written out, I checked for every minor error, proofread two times… And then I clicked on continue and my session had timed out. I put in my password and the make a new creation thing came up again, completely empty. I tried going back in my browser history, but it decided that I could not get back to the thing that I had been working on.

ONE AND A HALF HOURS!!!!! I AM SO MAD!!!!!
It was going to be the most elaborate story a freebuild has ever seen! All gone. I don't think i'll try to post it again anytime soon. I'm just too frustrated. And If I decide to post it again, the story won't be half as good. I spent a lot of time on the build too. … Very, very mad …

Nah, this thread is lawless. I had the same thing happen to me when I first started out, but I learned a few tricks to make MOCpages work:

1. COPY YOUR WORK TO A WORD DOCUMENT. That way you have it backed up, and you can even do the story first and images later or upload images, copy their HTML, paste them and then come back for a later session.

2. Drag images instead of finding the files. The new uploader is far better than the first for simple reasons of speed.

3. Make sure your images aren't jumbled. This is the tricky part.

4. The simple uploader works with tablets, so you can use those for shorter entries.

5. FOLLOW RULE NUMBER ONE.

Thanks for the advice. I think I will do that from now on, at least for any larger creations with more text. I don't quite unerstand the dragging part though… Does that mean you can drag images from the finder to the uploader, or from Iphoto to the uploader?

Do you use the new uploader (the one added maybe a year ago) or the "simple" uploader? In the new uploader, you don't have to click the part where it says "click here to add photos"; you can open up your picture file in another window next to (or below or above) the uploader and click-and-drag the images you want over. I use either a PC or an iPad, so I don't know if Macs don't do this for some reason.

I actually tried that first. I think, the older the computer is you are working on, or the newer, the more stuff like that works for you. My computer is exactly in the middle, and it refused to allow me to go back and have all the work reappear.
