LOM Fact- Yetis are among the most common monsters in the northern Lands. Despite their shaggy appearance, many are quite intelligent, and these fetch a colossal price on the black market.

Non-LOM Fact: In chess, the name of the rook piece comes from a Persian word meaning "chariot". Persian war chariots were heavily armored and had the outward appearance of small stone towers, causing terror on the battlefield.

Well, I started a wiki for LOM, when the PotP thread went on an HTML fritz I fixed it, and Gilbert inexplicably seems to like me. Also, I check LOM at least once a day, so I guess I was active enough. I just woke up with a mod banner one day ;)

I need some advice on a WIP for my Tourney Intro. My younger brother says this white house looks like I built an upper story and a roof first, but forgot a ground level. Do you think it looks unbalanced or unnatural, or does it seem fine to you?

Definitely unbalanced. I would suggest going with some finer detail on the bottom, and maybe even changing the color, to black or white.

Yep. Try making a bottom level, perhaps with some wood beams in between the levels and making the bottom level stone textured.

It does look more like a really fancy shed than a complete house. I would say that it either needs to be made into an upper floor, attached as a wing of a larger structure or arranged so that one of the former options is implied.

Also, the term "check mate," which makes no sense in English, descends from the word "shamat," or "the king is dead". Chess also descended from an Indian game that involved a four-sided, oblong die and could be played with four players working from each corner of the board.

I have a question addressed to everyone: Whose characters best embody the ideals (or evils) of their factions?

For example, Brick's protagonist, Sir Kindle, is what I see as the poster-boy Mythronian; he comes from a very noble family; he isn't very old; he has long, wavy pretty-boy hair; he's a tough but not invincible fighter; he bears the title of knight; he is hopelessly devoted to his king and, finally, he has some sort of ill-planned romance going on. That's a first-class Mythronian and no mistake.

I could probably name a few others - FNJ's Darvainian is more or less the archetypical Nerogue - but what do you think?

I was thinking that you were the caricature of an Enalican - swashbuckling and scheming with a bit of nobility in certain cases. How about the Outlaws? For that matter, how about Rainos? I think my character has too many personal issues to fill the role.

Mine does, I believe. Though, I think Mr. Falcon punch does more.

My character is smart, quick, plans ahead, calculates, doesn't fight battles he can't win, very powerful, and holds lots of authority.

I honestly think though, there is not "average Enalican". I tried to think of what it would be, but I quickly realized this:

Enalicans are all so different. We have the sarcastic, smart-aleck, funny, but still noble, Lucius created by Mr. Falcon punch. He kind of just lets things happen, from what I can tell, takes things as they go. If he gets beat, he would get up, brush himself off, and go back into the fray.

Then we have The Masked, my character, a very serious, unforgiving character who plans out his every move. He's very powerful and smart, but he would probably disappear for 10 years if he were ever beat by anyone, train, plot, plan, and go back to seek revenge.

I don't think Enalica has a "poster boy" character. We're all so different. I think it's kind of cool :)

I think my character does, though he does seem to be a bit lacking in the personality department. He dresses like a Rainosians, is merciless, and leads men that look very much like Rainosians. He is pretty much just a brutish barbarian at the point, but I'm going to start developing a story for him.

My character is NOT by any means a "model" Rainosian. His soldiers wear MATCHING ARMOR! In the description of a typical Rainosian, It said any type of medieval clothing. Also, instead of being a barbarian, Spine is a Mythronian. Everything about him is like a Mythronian, except for his colors. If you are confused, you can see my character intro. *Spoiler alert* Infact, because he is this way, once I reach 125 points, Gyllfore, Spine's best friend, will murder Spine. Spine is in no way a normal Rainosian.

Anyways, I think Jacob Pennington would be a model Rainosian, even though he is an outlaw.

Mythron and Nerogue you pretty much nailed. Rainos, I'd say Toa Infernum's Rego typifies it well. Outlaws would almost certainly be OoL, not least because he's the only semi-active player with any overall story. The original, pirate portion of Enalica is definitely typified by Mr. Falcon Punch, and then The Mask typifies the ninja part. I just try to go down the middle between those two positions of Enalica. I actually try to model my character after Bilbo Baggins (in the novel)- although he isn't completely inexperienced outdoors, he's by far the weakest fighter in his party, and usually is the one to get thrown through windows and have yetis chasing him. However, when the rubber hits the road, he's able to stick up for himself and show unlikely courage :)

No, but there is an alternative, which I am currently doing. I backed up all the date (apps, pictures, ect) onto a computer on iTunes. Now I am currently restoring the ipad (erasing everything on it). Once that is done I can put the backup onto the iPad and I will have all the date on it, but there will be no password because the backup doesn't save those.

Alright. I'll go place the links and such. But remember, I'm also an admin of this group, of which you are a part of. And I said, go update the map. Savvy? The reason I didn't want to edit the map, is because when I tried to update it on the wiki, it uploaded in the left corner. I could just try, and figure it out, or I could just tell you to go do it. I chose the latter.

Understood. I'll go see what I can do with it.

Alright. I'm having issues with changing the photo. It either uploads too big, or too little. URRGH! And, I changed the title. Neither I, nor Brickboy liked it.

Edit: I changed the title, but when I clicked publish, it said that someone has edited it since I first started editing.... So it didn't save anything I did. .. You're going to have to change the name.

Yup. But Ian, or whoever, said to go watch it now. So I just assumed that he was talking about watching it on DVD or whatev. Whatev.

You're a wiki admin, right? You're able to change the homepage, too, you know. Also, if you're interested in making the wiki a current, valuable resource for LOM, as it seems you are if you want the wiki homepage to be up-to-date, can I please have a link placed atop one of the information threads? Thank you.

Can you please make me an admin? I tried to change the map a few days ago, but it wouldn't allow me to

Just curious, why are people from Nerogue called "Nerogues" and not "Neroguians"? To me it just sounds wrong, like calling a Chinese person a "China man"

"Herro, me a China man!"

What's your wiki username? I tried "Caleb", "Renegrade" and "Masked" to no avail.

That's actually a bit offensive. Also, they are Nerogians... Thought I'm not sure how it is spelled.

To be honest, "Nerogueian" is the official adjective. I call them Nerogues, though, because a) real-world names are much more imaginative than "_____ian" and b) it looks like a combination of "new" and "rogue" because that's what Nerogues are - the new, united and orderly alternative to being an Outlaw.

Because when I was trying to get the wiki approved by the admins, they were scared of vandals, so I locked all the faction pages to editing by admins only. I'll unlock them now.

When you can't think of a logical response, go for drama instead :)

What is the regional challenge?
And how do I compete in one or whatever.

Is there a list of scheduled builds to make?
I.E. like the intro build?

The RC for December is the Tourney intro. You can make FBs whenever, though.
