As we might have faction points now (do we?), I think we should disallow to switch factions.

That or your points stay where your last faction switch was. So when you switch faction, you're back at zero. If you move back, you have those points you had before.

It is confusing, so either you do the confusing way, no switching factions, or lose all of your points when you switch factions (no saving).

Okay cool!

1. Should I plan an outline for Nerogue like the Barbarian thread we have here? Or should I help with another faction for right now?

2. Should Nerogue be changed to Neurague? (so that it doesn't have rogue in it)
It's supposed to be pronounced Neur-rah-gue
Neur as in Neuron, rah as in Rauw (between Ra and raw), and gue as in collage.

Actually, the faction leaders should take care of their own factions.. I like the name nerogue.. Sounds cool. And, yes. You should probably do a faction outline like the barbarian thread, Just wait until all of the outlines are completed before you post it in the main group.

I'll just put how to pronounce it in the outline so it's not pronounced like ne-ru-eg
Nerogue is easier to spell.

Just to let you know something about editing groups.

When anyone edits something, they have to click EACH TIME (I know, annoying) "invitation only" or else it moves it to anyone can join.

That's what happened now. When Simon edited the group to add those (awesome!!!) banners, the system automatically made it so that anyone can join (but it's still a private group). Simon didn't click that anyone can join, but it just happens anytime someone tries to edit a "invitation only" group.

I'm am honored to receive an invite!

We are honored to have such enthusiastic members in LOM! Welcome!

I'll give you a short run-down of what's happening.
We are getting ready to post a thread for each faction by the faction leader. The leaders of the factions won't be changing factions.
Faction Leaders:
Mythron - Brick Boy
Rainso - Gilbert Despathens
Enalica (Pirates) - Simon S.
Nerogue - David the Fire Ninja Jedi
Outlaws - _____

We don't have anyone for Outlaws. We thought of you first. We don't know what your plans are for your character if he'll stay an outlaw or not, but we thought that you would be a good person to run the Outlaws.
Of course, if you accept, you wouldn't be able to switch factions. We hope you'll accept as we need people who can be responsible for activities, be active, and be able to write a faction thread. We have threads for each faction except for the outlaws. We think that you are the man for the job.

What do you think? Again, we don't know how this will play out with your character, but we'll see.

Pretty much what the rest of us are doing.
First of all, you would make an Outlaw faction thread similar to the existing factions. Second, you would be the rally force for people to join the Outlaws. And third, you would be helping us work things out for the LOM group here.

You'll notice that in the "Voting Problem" thread each of the faction leaders and Freeling will be judging the MOCs based on criteria that each judge decides individually as long as the points add up to 10. We will have to post that soon too...

Nah, you'd be recognized as the leader of the Outlaws. You'd make at least one MOC that would show your rise to that power.
The other factions would know who you are and see you as someone important as well.

Okay, so I can build a fortress for him and order around make believe subjects? That makes it a little better since he was going to switch to Mythron and claim Falmor. I accept.

Yes, none of us can order around people in our faction.

I'm pretty sure you can build a fortress...just come up with a name for it so that it can be added on the map that's in Bodus. The fortress would have to be in Bodus somewhere (since that's where the Outlaws' headquarter is). That way, others can show the fortress in their builds. Your MOC affects the main story in the way that it shows your rise to power.

In fact, you could suggest the next Universal Challenge after the one about Tomeu falling into the hands of the outlaws. You could make the challenge that talks about your character affirming his hold as leader of the outlaws by building the fortress. You'd need to have assigned things for each faction and then see if Freeling agrees.
Example:
Outlaws - get materials from the mountains or help with the actual building of the fortress. Mythron - spy on the Outlaws and see where their fortress is. Nerogue - show small skirmishes between you and some Outlaws in the snowy mountains. Rainos - etc. Enalica - etc.

For the next month, though, you'll be recognized as the leader, but your fortress hasn't been built - That's for a future Universal Challenge or something as long as Freeling gives the okay :D

Glad you're on board mate! :D Gilbert will be sad though :/

No set deadline, but the sooner the better so that they are ready to post once the next universal challenge comes up (the one with the outlaws conquering Tomeu). No rush of course :)

I'm hoping that we'll be allowed to do the clans as described here too.
www.mocpages.com/group_conversation.php?id=22435&topicid=89934 It's another great way for the faction leaders to be involved with their faction!

I'm going to place the html for the faction banners on the main group's homepage so we doing have to deal with them in our faction threads. I'll try to put the modified codes somewhere handy to be copied and pasted in, but be careful in the meantime.

I know right?! You need some more encourange or something...the problem is that the first thing people see is that Rainos rebelled against Mythron. Something else needs to be added to the Rainos side of the story or you're toast. :/

Nerogue just pulls on everyone XD, it did deal with the outlaw explosion though. I'm still guessing that the Outlaws will do well. Enalica and Rainos need something more for people to join them. We could discuss them here.

A new order? Is this like a crime syndicate for the people who are to dishonest or seditious to become Nerogueians? I've always thought that a gangster element was lacking in Mythron.
You could always do your faction leader MOC showing Sozo taking charge, like Simon S. and I did.

It would be really cool to have different factions build with their take on the Outlaws becoming cooperative. Perhaps Mythron sees it as a threat but Rainos thinks it won't last.

I think we should have a timeline of events that happened. (we have some say that their great grandfather fought in the original rebellion). Here is what we have so far and what I thing the time frame should be. Let me know what you think :D

1. Rumors of a secret council in Bodus were spreading. - 6 months

2. Outlaw council held in Bodus - 7 months

3. There was a Truce between Mythron and Rainos to attack and track down the Outlaws. - 8 months

4. Plans from the council in Bodus were enacted. Guaire had thousands of diamonds stolen right under their noses. The first strike of the Outlaws against the truce between Mythron and Rainos. - 10 months

5. Not happy about the stolen diamonds, King Bartok of Rainos and strong men of Rainos pursued many outlaws and discovered the caverns and mazes beneath the sea between Mythron and Rainos that many of the Outlaws used to smuggle goods into Mythron. In these caverns there are dangerous creatures like trolls, orcs, and other evil creepy things that lurk around for those who get lost in the dark crevasses. - 10 months

6. The great diamond scandal by King Bartok was revealed! Bartok had a wizard enchant fake and almost worthless diamonds to make them precious to lure Outlaws to Guaire. Unfortunately, some real diamonds were stolen, and some of the enchanted diamonds were preserved from changing back into their original form, but the majority of the diamonds were fake. - 11 months.

7. Tomeu was sacked by the Outlaws! This was the outlaw's second strike because of the Truce between Mythron and Rainos. Rainosians and Enalican Pirates also had their share in the loot because they were catching Mythronians and Outlaws as they left the battle. Tomeu was captured and those who stayed behind established Nerogue. They rebuilt the walls and freed the people from their previous slavery from the evil so-called Mythronian soldiers who ruled the city by their swords ever since the Battle of Unbinding. Nerogueians helped those still loyal to Mythron to return to the good Mythronian cities. - 1 year.

I think we should have a timeline of events that happened.
That is really cool, but it's not going to work. In some people's stories those events are only days apart and in others' there are many months in between.

Actually, when main story events affect everyone, everyone needs to be on the same page. I know what you mean, but I think we should give it a try.

Don't forget the prologue!

History

I. 800 years ago- A mighty general emerges on the island and begins to unite the dozens of local kingdoms.
II. 800 years ago- The Country and then Empire of Mythron developed under the care of this first king and his regal successors.
III. 200 years ago- The primitive clans of Rainos are subjugated and incorporated into a new province of Mythron.
IV. 150 years ago- Rot sets into the politics of Mythron. Financial power replaces military might as the driving force in the kingdom.
V. 21 years ago- Sir Bartok, the Duke of Rainos, leads his province in a war of independence.
VI. 20 years ago- Troop withdrawals from the territory of Bodus cause an increase in crime. Public enemies and brigands establish a brotherhood.
VII. 20 years ago- King Mythron is killed at the Battle of Unbinding. His eldest son takes the throne and the worst of the fighting ends.
VIII. 19 years ago- The pirate port of Worsan organizes its patrons into an island empire known as Enalica.

1. Rumors of a secret council in Bodus were spreading. - Spring.

2. Outlaw council held in Bodus - Spring.

3. There was a Truce between Mythron and Rainos to attack and track down the Outlaws. - Summer.

4. Outlaws begin to carry out the plans set down in Bodus. Guaire had thousands of diamonds stolen right under its nose. The first strike of the Outlaws against the truce between Mythron and Rainos. - Summer.

I also altered the dates. When you look at the entries of most players, it doesn't make sense for entire years to pass between them. I think it's simplest if this game stays in something closer to real-time.

Indeed. I think that the Battle of Unbinding should be 5 years ago instead of 20.

Like this:

V. 7 years ago- Sir Bartok, the Duke of Rainos, leads his province in a war of independence.
VI. 6 years ago- Troop withdrawals from the territory of Bodus cause an increase in crime. Public enemies and brigands establish a brotherhood.
VII. 5 years ago- King Mythron is killed at the Battle of Unbinding. His eldest son takes the throne and the worst of the fighting ends.
VIII. 2 years ago- The pirate port of Worsan organizes its patrons into an island empire known as Enalica.

We should also come up with actual years so that we wouldn't have to switch the numbers every time a new year passes in Mythron (except for the battle of unbinding).

I added a few things to the history.

Like this: (BB stands for Before the Battle of Unbinding) (AU stands for After the Unbinding)
I. 800 BB- A mighty general emerges on the island and begins to unite the dozens of local kingdoms.
II. 800 BB- The Country and then Empire of Mythron developed under the care of this first king and his regal successors. These years were known for petty uprisings, kidnapping, and territorial control by Mythron to gain the whole map.
III. 200 BB- The primitive clans of Rainos are subjugated and incorporated into a new province of Mythron. These following 100 years were considered to be the Golden Age of Mythron.
V. 100 BB- Rot sets into the politics of Mythron. Financial power, bribery, and deceit replaces military might and diplomatic reasoning as the driving force in the kingdom.
VI. 10 BB- The evil king of Mythron who reigned for the last 70 years died, and his successor tried to bring the restless Mythron back together.
VII. 7 BB- Sir Bartok, the Duke of Rainos, leads his province in a war of independence.
VIII. 6 BB- Troop withdrawals from the territory of Bodus cause an increase in crime. Public enemies and brigands establish a brotherhood centered in and around Bodus.
IX. 0 BB 5 years ago- The King of Mythron is killed at the Battle of Unbinding. His eldest son takes the throne and the worst of the fighting ends.
X. 3 AU- The pirate port of Worsan organizes its patrons into an island empire known as Enalica.
XI. A new chapter begins. This is now.

Final draft:

XI. 5 AU- A new chapter begins. This is now.

1. 5 AU (Spring)- A feeble attempt at a general Rainosian invasion of Mythron fails to go over.

2. 5 AU (Spring)- Rumors spread of a secret council in Bodus.

3. 5 AU (Spring)- Outlaw council held in Bodus.

4. 5 AU (Summer)- Mythron and Rainos hold a truce to attack and track down the Outlaws.

5. 5 AU (Summer)- Outlaws begin to carry out the plans set down in Bodus. Thousands of diamonds are stolen from Guaire in the outlaws' first strike against the truce between Mythron and Rainos.

5. 5 AU (Summer)- Furious, thousands of Rainosian warriors pursue the outlaws and take control of a monster-infested tunnel leading from Rainos to Mythron.

6. 5 AU (Summer)- The Guaire Diamonds are revealed as fakes! King Bartok of Rainos had a wizard enchant common stones to make them precious and so lure outlaws to Guaire. Unfortunately, some real diamonds were stolen, and some of the enchanted diamonds were preserved from changing back into their original form, so the victory is unclear.

7. 5 AU (Summer)- Outlaws sack Tomeu! This is the outlaw's second strike against the tattered truce between Mythron and Rainos, and both Enalican and Rainosian raiders fight for their shares of the profit. Following the city's capture, reformed outlaws establish the new state of Nerogue, a sub-nation devoted to order and justice. Nerogueians work to maintain positive relations with Mythron, even to the point of reimbursing their former enemies for losses sustained in the battle.

Garrett A was wondering about having an official diplomat for each faction, and the diplomats and faction leaders of all of the factions can come together for a meeting once a year or so (like in MOCs) to discuss things (I guess we would discuss the things beforehand).

Should we use rankings for this? Like once they do the rank/clan challenge at 150 points they can participate in the meeting?

No, not staff members. It's just a little extra ranking thing that would just look good by those who see them in the "meeting MOCs"

We could already have the outcome of the meeting, and then add in their characters as part of the discussion. They'd be a bit more well-known by the faction leader (that's how I imagine it anyway)

That sounds like a dirty trick. I'd rather put "diplomat" status at a lower point level and make them a fancier, open-air spy that handles negotiations between factions (read: comments in any faction thread) than give them a blue ribbon and a false sense of importance.

Coordinate alliances, city attacks, and secret treaties?
Spam the enemy conversations?
Advise admins on challenges?
Cross borders without being chased?
Build awesome embassies in foreign lands?
Join three factions instead of two?
Meet with nobility?
Hold all-you-can-eat caviar buffets?
Approve faction-switching visas?
Do the paperwork for the admins?

This guy apparently KILLED the son of the King, don't you think that might be a big step to take? I mean, I think the King would get pretty angry if an outlaw assassinated his son. I think this might be taking it a bit too far, especially the fact that he got away with it. Stuff like this could imbalance the entire game. What do you guys think?

Pretend it didn't happen and add a rule that says not to kill royalty or player characters. There have been countless other discrepancies, like Makok's recent MOC that talks about Nerogues wiping out a civilization in years past. I'll go change the rules.

I have a plan:
1. Comment the rule change in the announcements thread and lock the topic so it doesn't get lost in questions about it (direct people to the questions and answers thread)

2. The rule is this:
- You may not make up things about another faction. Ask a faction leader first before making a universal statement about who they are or what they did (does not include name calling). You cannot kill or harm influential people of other factions unless you are given permission by that faction's leader. (Say a Mythronian spy went to Rainos and assassinated a Rainosian town leader or spokesperson, you cannot do that unless the faction leader gives you permission.) Petty soldiers are fine, but remember not to make claims about them (like they were torturing an innocent person or that they believe in such and such, or they mercilessly attacked a village, etc.). Basically, don't do something where it wouldn't make sense for the faction leader to order other people of his faction to do. (you could say, however, that a group of Mythron soldier deserters went and mercilessly attacked a village.) Also, don't speak for another faction's politicians as it could be way off from the actual standpoint of the faction (again, ask the faction leader).
All of that to say that you should ask the faction leader if you want to do something to/with their faction. (of course, if a challenge specifies things to do against certain factions, then you may do as the challenge says.)

Let me be the first to say "nay" to this plan, for reasons that I partially explain below.

We have a "new" rule that solves the pressing issue, namely the abuse of important or private characters. The rest of it sounds extreme to me.
Quoting David the Fire Ninja Jedi

I try to be respectful toward individual players, but I will make fun of the other factions. First of all, it balances out against their self promotion (Don't deny it; everyone does a bit of bragging about how great their faction is, and we faction leaders are the worst). Second, it matches my faction's opinions of the other groups.
Third, war crimes occur in every conflict, often caused by official forces acting with or unimpeded by official policy (until recently, this was considered an acceptable and even commendable part of warfare). I don't see why we should rule that the Lands of Mythron are an exception. As Freeling once said, we don't want "a happy princess fairy tale land - YAY!"

Then we would need to come up with an extremely detailed official story for everyone to stick to, detailing each faction's deeds, misdeeds, ideals and policies, giving each an unbiased representation with aspects both commendable and condemnable. This is doable, but half of the fun for me is reading all of the different aspects of history that people make up outside of the challenges.
We are treading a fine line between organization and censorship. I respect what you are trying to do, but I think we need to tread carefully.

True, we do need to tread carefully, but the point above could be defined into two parts easily while keeping the imagination.

If people want to put something about a faction's past in their MOC they should go to that faction's leader. They could make up past events that other factions did, and then go to the faction leader and see if it would fit with something they would have done. If yes, then that MOC becomes something more real because it has accurate facts about a faction (which is also better for those looking at the MOC who do not know anything about the factions).

If they want to find out a standpoint of a faction on a certain subject or action point, then the person should go to that faction's leader. (same benefit as above)

I think those two allows for freedom for imagination but also keeps the general factions and their ways protected. How does that sound?

Fair enough. That would be a good use for the faction threads in the main group - a Q and A. We should probably put a timer on the rule, so that inactive leadership doesn't hold up a MOC. New trivia can be added to the Creatures/History Thread.

Hmm 3 days? If not, then another admin could answer it? (or maybe if another member of the said faction knows the answer he could answer after three days as well.)
Good idea. Maybe individual comments for each faction that could be edited by the faction leaders (Brick Boy would do the comment about more Mythron stuff, you for Rainos, etc)

Good thinking. I'll let you put it in place.

You know the guild chase 'em out builds where the guild motto is there and then another guild member comments the motto as well and then the person is run out of that city/town/area, I was thinking to add another bit to the game.

Could people set up MOC-off collaborations? Like someone either challenges one of the guild members to stay in that area (of course, not valid for specific territory challenges) or two people just felt like crossing paths in a a competition with certain affects to their stories depending on the outcome of the MOC-off.

Example: Night Reaper wants to do a MOC-off collaboration with Brick Boy. They set up the dates, the location, the setting, etc. and then build. Night reaper wins (three people who are not Mythron or Rainos give a vote to who wins) and they decided that Night reaper could then go and do this, and Brick Boy would fail to make it to this blah blah blah.

I could set up a MOC-off collaboration thread and explain the rules. People could set up their rules in the MOC-off collaboration thread. If it gets too many people in there, then we could just make more threads or just make a collaboration group for LOM where people set up collaborations and MOC-offs between themselves.

About the entry for the UCMA I don't think it fit either but DTFNJ said it was good. I'll change it if it doesn't work.

Or I could enter it but we as judges will just give it a point reduction of not quite fitting the story. That would probably be best, for future instances as well.

Oh, if FNJ gave it the all clear, then I have no complaint. It would be a shame to dock points on that story, but it might not help the outlaws with their conquest of Mythron as much as a direct attack.

Middle Earth has tropical places south of the main settings. I would agree that not all of the LOM are hot, of course. I always thought ranged from cold in the north to warm in the south, somewhere between the equator and the arctic circle. Alternately, we could base the landmasses off of Great Britain and Ireland and use the same climate patterns: temperate and wet.

Here's a suggestion that will take some initial energy, but with luck will make the challenges more accessible to everyone: Seeding. I've long been conflicted on how to give the younger, developing builders - the KFOLs rather than the A/TFOLs as well as anyone else who isn't close to mastering the system - a chance to win recognition in such a diverse group as ours.
My proposition is to use average challenge scores from this and other challenges to divide the entrants in the next challenge into brackets. Those with weaker builds can go to the beginner bracket, and everyone else will be left in one category or split between two further levels depending on the distribution of skill.
Once we have entrants to the next challenge sorted, we can use the rankings to recognize the best MOC from the beginners as well as the normal winner. Also, because we can still grade the competitors from both brackets on the same scale, we move people up and down between them.
This might not be a perfect solution, but I think it has a chance to keep members in who feel like they aren't winning any recognition. I know that Yapdap and, more recently, Bill Daniels have withdrawn from the group for similar reasons. Since one of the unique features of the Lands of Mythron is its acceptance of all ages of builders, we should try to make the most of this quality and ensure that everyone feels like an important part of the LOM community.

...

And, of course, by the time I've written all of that down, I've also thought of a second solution: faction leaders' choice. Each faction leader can decide which entry from one of their faction members shows the most merit relative to the builder's own work - a sort of "most improvement" award. That could be worth an extra point at least.

It could work. The only problem would be by grading them on the same scale. Because if that where the case it would just be based on luck as to which bracket you got into.

For example, say you get a 6/10 for your score. You could either be the bottom of one, or at the top of the other, really depending on what we decide the score cut off for each bracket would be.

I like the idea, but I like this version a bit more

Each person in all of LOM is placed in a bracket. Each LOM, they will compete in this bracket. However, if someone wins twice in a row, they would move up to the bracket above. Or we could move them there if we think they have improved to much to remain in their original bracket.

Right - people should definitely move up or down depending on the changes in their MOCs. It is a little awkward that someone just too good to enter the lower bracket would end up without anything in the upper bracket, but it still gives out more recognition. Should we bracket the current RC when we finish judging the UCA?

Sounds like a good idea. Plus, I personally would rather be a weaker competitor in against strong competition than a strong competitor against weaker competition. Big fish little pond and pig pond little fish and all that. But that may just be me.

But yes, brackets sound good.

Pig fish - what a good idea! Then you can have bacon sushi...
Anyway, I agree with your sentiment. I would feel, as a somewhat experienced builder, somewhat awkward if I won in the little leagues - fortunately, none of us are little-league material. We can adjust the bracket sizes to score clusters rather than even portions to avoid this, and maybe give entrants a choice, too - let them request a bracket.

While this does have advantages, I think that there are a lot of builders who think they are better than they are, and even more that think they are worse than they are. Also, a somewhat skilled builder might request a lower bracket just so they could win.

Might I suggest that the winning team of A&F in the main group be rewarded something? Like 10 or 15 points? I am not saying this just because I think we might win, but because it seems fair to reward an active and strategic faction, no matter which faction it is.

No, that would be both complicated for scorekeeping and unfair, considering that the Outlaws' activity isn't helping them all that much.

I stay under the radar because...
A) I travel in time using a little blue box and I teleport away if anyone bothers me.
B) I RUN the lab experiments.
C) Illuminati
D) I have demonic powers (and I have, in reality, been accused of witchcraft).

My new thought - Valkyries are female. THAT is not female. Also, Valkyries don't necessarily have wings, so I had a different mental picture entirely. This looks a little more N-A-R-N-I-A than Middle Earth, so you definitely need to check with Freeling.

Fine, not "Valkrie". I just thought the name sounded good, and since when did we restrict ourselves to going exactly by what it says in the wikipedia page about certain thing? I'll check with Freeling, though.

Enalicans are raiders, aren't they? This group has ben getting too restricting recently. And I dont like it. At all.

I'm not trying to be disrespectful, but trying to make a genuine suggestion: read what you approve. This is the third time there has been a mix up because you weren't really sure what the heck was going on with Enalica. If you want me to change things, fair enough, but at least read things over.

Maybe we could draw one by hand this time if we really want it to look realistic. Some canvas and black paint might serve for a Rainosian-style chart of the isles, and I have at least one of those ingredients at home. I think I can also butcher the coastlines sufficiently to alter it from the original novel illustration, and I have the time to do it this Sunday (I think). Should I attempt it?

I did it. Unfortunately, I can't put the "I" in all caps to emphasize my treachery, because it already IS in all caps... Anyway, I take it you don't have any objections? Caleb and FNJ both supported the decision, but nobody else noticed the poll after several days, so I went ahead and carried out the maneuver. It's about time we had some responsible, active MODs. No offense, but our previous batch wasn't up to scratch - Kaeleb went into his dark ages and the other three are neither especially active nor overly organized or responsible. Thomas, on the other hand, has proved his dedication and merit several times over as an organizer and a builder. I take it there are no objections other than the neatness factor, which can be remedied by demoting some of the aforementioned MODs in the main group?

I understand. I removed Caleb and Geoarge. Both are not being active enough. Perhaps in the future...when the group expands to about 500 members...there can be a Admin and MOD for each faction. Of course, the group is to small for 10 staff members at the moment;)

Good - it's settled, then.
Edit:
Hold on, I don't think we should eliminate them from the staff group. It's not really an issue if they're here, it's just that we want to award the red-and-yellow banners only to the best people for the job. Sometimes George has some good thoughts on impending crises, after all.

Agreed, but a system should be developed so we can operate when he's not here. It could go of a system like, if a MOD is un active in the group for a month, and has no apparent reason, he get's demoted. Sound good?

Anyways, I thought Freeling was saying there was a big problem because the members page was filled with staff. Thus, I took action. IN the future, I'll wait till a vote is held here before making such bold actions.

As for George...it we might consider not re-promoting him in the main group. It appears he isn't active to be a MOD, but maybe he's going to more active. I do agree he should still have member ship here, because he does have some good ideas.

You're allowed to do both. You can certainly share your thoughts on planning, and, although MODs have not always voted or judged in the past, you can do that as well. Trust me, we wouldn't invite anyone over here if we didn't want to incorporate them into the running of the group.

Just give your opinion when it's needed. Vote on challenges. Also, the MODs are basically in between normal members and Admins...so your job is to keep the "people" calm in time of crises. Although I wasn't involved in the decision to make you a MOD, I'm glad to have you a board;)

People think change is a problem. We create change, people freak out, and then the group becomes stronger. This is exhibited in several occasions, such as when we decided that UCs and RCs would come up as they're needed.

He is spending way to much time on history and detail. I mean, having history and detail is good, but at the extent he is going, it will be way too confusing for any person who would want to join. I doubt he will recive any members who will stay.

No, you see Flickr hosts the images for LCC and GOH, so medieval storytelling has lots of participants already over there.

Well, we can't keep them all. By the way, has anyone (or everyone) seen the Contest Group's City of Legopolis? That's another direct LOM spin-off that isn't likely to threaten our participation.

I'm not sure how well that's going to do, since it's basically a Lego City version of LOM (unless they add more scifi and conflict to their story).

Well, it's set up with a points-and-challenges system similar to our own and Halhi 141 told me that he used the LOM and Lego Universe as inspiration. I also think that it will last a little longer than two weeks, but I'm not sure.

The City of Legopolis was Halhi's idea. it's generally jist to gain more interest and activity in the Contest Group, which isn't currently doing so hot. It was inspired by LOM, but in his defense, there have been other groups like LOM before LOM even existed, like Metal Legion and The Great Force War, so you can't say he copied LOM. It has plenty of differences, the main one being that it actually is a contest, and has a deadline. I would say it is actually more like Michael Rutherford's groups more than LOM. Anyways, I've put my little word in.

Well, LOM IS a Magical place. And in Skyrim, people are born with special powers. Nothing major though. Such as the Hitskin, The ability to generate health ten times faster for a certain amount of time. And if it's like that, and nothing major, there shouldn't be a problem. Let's just hope some guy doesn't make his character the Dragonborn though. ;)

Guys, I'm sorry to be doing something like this again but this world of ours deserves a better name than "the Lands of Mythron" Mythron isn't much more than a dying empire struggling to hold on to power. I say that we devise a new name for the overall world, I'm thinking something like Amarsadiil, why don't we all think of something better for the name of our whole world. I shall not be pressing this subject any further than proposed idea...thank you :)

Nonsense. There's nothing wrong with someone suggesting ideas and trying to help. If we banned him for that, he would complain about it everywhere, and maybe even discourage people from joining LOM. I mean, think about it. If you were trying to give ideas to a group, and you got banned, how would you feel? I've gotten banned from a chatroom for something I didn't even do, and to this day, I still h(a)te their guts.

Please re-open Crimson Knights in The Tourney.

Full reason why:
Guild leaders have full control of who's in and who's out of their guilds in LOM. Because of this, when the guild is entered into The Tourney they automatically list all of their current members in the guild. If there are less than 16 members already in the guild, then the remaining spots may be claimed by ANYONE unless there are faction-restrictions on the guild.

Guilds should be made strong in LOM and then entered into The Tourney. Since this is our first year, it's going to be a little rough.

Guild leaders CANNOT close their guilds during The Tourney. Once the cap of members is reached (this year 16), THEN no one else can join the guild. There is no pick-and-choose once there are slots open in The Tourney. ANYONE can join ANY guild (unless by faction restriction).

Summary:
1. Get your "pick-and-choose" members BEFORE The Tourney.
2. Guilds are open to ANYONE until the member cap (16) is reached.

I can ask Jacob if he will accept new members, but I would like to tell you that there was no hand-picking involved. He only asked me to close it because he wanted to give the other guilds a chance to catch up. Like you said, no guild members can harm their team, so he's only doing everyone else a favor.

I know that... but guilds stay open until the 16 cap that was already defined. No closing guilds.

It's nice and all, but it needs to stay open until 16 people join. Guild leaders only close guilds to join the guild normally.

Please change it so that it's open - if we let one, we have to let everyone. Stay at 16 - no closing guilds until 16 members. That's what was stated, and that is what NEEDS to stay.
