I thought you were going to say, "I'm here to chew bubble gum and kick a... And I'm all out of bubble gum."

Nick, I agree with Keith that you definitely classed up the joint. Along with Luke, the quality of builds skyrocketed and pushed everyone to step up their game. You proved to be the most powerful piece on the board and THE primary target as a result. I truly loved all your builds and, as with Luke's, I can now officially "like" them. ;) I hope for all our sakes that you will return in 2.0. The caliber of the game would not be the same without your skills, your humor, or you. I salute you with all due respect. I think we all do.

Best Fight Scene Ever! Please tell me that you saw the South Park with the "cripple" fight. Jimmy and Timmy play out the entire scene shot for shot. Brilliant!

I have to admit that I'm pretty rusty on new releases, but anything old, game on.

Salutes and kudos to General Barrett. I still remember how fired up I was when I saw you joined the group, like it was a victory for all of us to have you involved. You were a walkin' talkin' example that you can start late and still make a mark in the game and even have a shot to win. I also appreciate the balance you struck between moving fast and building well. The Yosemite Sam air defense, the wacky squad and the White Cliffs of Dover were all highlight builds that I will remember long after the dust has settled. More than that, you' also classed up the joint on an interpersonal level. Thanks General, you indeed rocked the Casbah, dude.

Thanks for the kind words, Keith, and thanks for this great game. I'll be back next year.

Just to add to the plaudits Nick, for my money your builds were the best in the game and it was a wrench to take sides against you. Well played, and congratulations on your advancement in the MO too (naturally...) where you're sure to go a long way!

News from SEAL HQ:
After taking possession of a sizeable bacon mountain that is nevertheless only a small portion of that rumoured to be owned by the Moto Moto Republic, SEAL is struggling to find ways to dispose of it humanely. The national council has already passed a resolution banning the sale for consumption of 'war meat', while tipping it into the sea is deemed environmentally unacceptable.
The bureaucracy is coming under widespread criticism for failing to think through the aftermath of its military intervention. Many of the hacks who were calling for an attack on the Moto Moto Republic a few short days ago, are now demanding an immediate change in foreign policy.
Who knows what the outcome will be? In the meantime, I have a truck-full of BLTs for the highest bidder...

In the interest of international trade, the CCR is willing to exchange tacos for BLT's.

General Barrett.

Another able commander goes down with his saber in hand and his boots on his feet!

Sorry to see you go! You came late and caused a population of complacent generals to sit up and take notice. The speed of your destruction is testament to the threat you posed.

I hope Decisive Action has provided enough entertainment to justify your substancial investment of effort. We have certainly benefitted from your contributions!

Good luck in MO, and we hope to see you next year!

Attack!

Mr. Hanna.

Your MOC was removed from the pool for several reasons.

1. You have no ORBAT posting.
2. You have no nation in this game.
3. You use a huge amount of non-Lego in your MOC.
4. The MOC does not correspond with any of the categories in the game.

I would normally thank you for your effort, but in this case, it has been a complete inconvenience, so suffice it to say: Happy 19th of September!

Ok Rountree, if you get these right I'll be officially impressed and probably creeped out...as in "the call is coming from inside the house" creeped out. No that isn't part of the test Rountree, "When a Stranger Calls" is too easy. I'll even give you a hint, the first one is an 80's TV movie.

1. "I understand you hippies...That's because I'm a kind of a hippie myself, I'm a hippie with money."

2. "You will die...I could have killed thousands of people if not for you...and your comic book brain!"

3. "Hey...Lonnie...get your Xss away from there!"

Alrightythen.

The first one was from an axe wielding Andy Griffith on a dirt bike. I have to admit that I don't remember the name of it, but I do remember that it had Marjoe Gortner and The Shatner in it.

You definitely got me on the second one. I was thinking Hackman said it in the '79 Superman, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't. Touche.

The third is WAY too easy. Donald Pleasance in Halloween.

Would have thought "comic book brain" would have triggered something. But alas, I fall short. I know I'm right about the first but what was the name of it? I thought it had Wildcats in the title. Good ones there Keith! I'll be wracking my brain to come up with that second one.

I knew it was something with Wildcats.

I am definitely going to have to check out The Ambulance now, although seeing the clip, I know how it ends. Or does it? Dun, dun, dun. Eric was sportin' a super ultra mega mullet there.

BTW Gortner became one of my all time favorites after Star Crash. That movie is the reason I was kicked out of Blockbuster. Good times. =]

That was fun! I don't normally get to exercise that part of the noggin'.

The birthplace (A14) is no more, but we will rise again! To the sanctuary, the promised paradise, where hogs frolic freely ... (that's like primetime bacon right there) ...

... and because the bacon supply is now depleted, the MMR proclaims war on S.E.A.L. Invasion supporters get free bacon. Toodles.

Fair play Gen. Rowntree, I probably should have picked a fight with you instead of Shifu last week. My maths put you on top of the pile at the end of this AW... but will you be able to stay there?

If I get one of those sets, I will use the pieces to be faster than anyone. I will be UNSTOPPABLE!!!!

But I've been spending my bucks on Chima recently. And I'm saving for something else. But I'll see if I could get a hold of those boys!

King rowntRee GN.

Am I missing something here? All I saw was a bunch of computer GAME stuff. Are there images of actually Legos that I did not see?

I usually bristle at the affiliation of computer games with building. Brand name aside, I see almost zero overlap between the two concepts.

And know what else? (as long as I'm venting...) I REALLY hate when Lego posts images of new products in a digitally generated format. It does not allow for an assessment of the product, as the company has NO RESTRAINT and knows NO SHAME in depicting parts that don't exist, and won't exist. The digital images are almost always exaggerated in some way. Showing minifigs that only exist in a game, but mixed in with figures that might exist in the real world... posing them in impossible position... mixing "action graphics" (like little eddies in the air) with actual parts (like the purple lightning bolts).

Lego has made a number of editorial decisions regarding promos for upcoming products which I am compelled to classify as overtly dishonest. Put simply: Lego lies.

Ah. I feel better now.

So, where there actually any pictures of new parts?

It's just a "commercialized" depiction of cartoony legos.

It's because LEGO has now aimed at making their products more cartoonish but the product itself is unchanged but someday in a generation not to long away it will get much worse...

Didn't see a single one.

In regards to Lego lying, they've been doing that for decades now. Look at the Galaxy Explorer freely soaring over the lunar landscape, every collectible minifigure with "bent knees", and shall we mention brick built Lego boats not sinking. I have catalogues dating back to the 70's and each one is a progression of new and exciting backdrops that aren't, pieces that don't, and builds that can't. It's all eye candy. Deliciously deceptive eye candy.

Besides, Lego isn't in the "business" for their health. ;)

I just wish that Lego was a bit more inclined to treat the real fanatics like us here on MP, TBB, Brickshelf, etc. with a certain elevated regard and not simply an equal part of the masses. WE take Lego seriously, I just think it's fair that they reciprocate.

Okay, my rant is over. Carry on.

You're absolutely correct Keith. I would definitely agree that they treat the fans better than before. I guess my main issue with them is in regards to recognition. Although not highly important in actuality, I look at Lego as I do a basic Art supply. I have found that I am less interested in sets but more interested in parts. The availability from the actual source is rather scattered at best. There is only pick-a-brick and the candy wall at the Lego stores. Of course there is BL and other sources, but Lego's direct contact is sparse. There is the cost issue as well. I understand that certain groups get bulk discounts, but that's BULK. For those of us "starving artists" there is only the hope of finding what we need in the over exaggerated and relatively expensive sets. I think what I would desire is a catalogue of supplies, ALL supplies. Discount wouldn't hurt either.

Don't get me wrong, I have watched the progression of Lego's treatment of us forever and am duly impressed with their change in attitude as of late. I guess I'm just another one of those that wants a little more. Not necessarily a criticism of the company, just a wish.

Since mankind's dawn, a handful of oppressors have accepted the responsibility over our lives that we should have accepted for ourselves. By doing so, they took our power. By doing nothing, we gave it away. We've seen where their way leads, through camps and wars, towards the slaughterhouse. Ever wonder where Shifu gets all that bacon?
