AAAAAaaaand there's the question of what's purist, as usual.

1) Cut ribbed tube (I'm going to say it, but you can't catch me anyway :P In any case, this is 100% legal, it's in a lego set, and the designers cut ribbed tube)

2) Flex tube. Not sure if there's any sets that cut this, but I think it should be allowed.

3) Removed print on HF parts. I think that's reasonable. Plus have you seen the stuff on PAB these days?

4) Painted. Yeah probably no.

5) Protos! This has GOTTA be okay....

1- Yes as long as it comes in existing sizes.
2- Yes, sometimes older sets instructed you to cut flex tube by yourself.
3- Hmmmm I'd be against it, since the result would be a piece that didn't exist before.
4- You answered yourself.
5- I have no idea what you're talking about, but if it's an original LEGO piece it's allowed.

Quoting Yuri Fassio Your entry won't be judged until you post that link, but once you do, every change to the page will be forbidden. (So I suggest you first add it to the pool and see some feedback before "locking" it)
ANY changes? Even if it's, say, an HTML fix or something? I understand why that rule would be in place for changing pictures, etc... but any changes at all is a little harsh to DQ for (which I'm assuming would be the result).

You're more or less right, but don't worry you'll be given more detailed instructions as the round starts.

Well, it's easy enough to avoid that. Just add it to the group's pool and see if someone suggests you to fix something before posting the link.
The only reason the rule is so strict is that it's easier to understand for everyone.
However, nothing prevents you from just asking a judge in case of a minor fix.

Is there a way to get notifications when the new threads are psoted, like an email notification, or do we just need to stay on top of our game and frequent the group? Notifications would be nice, but eh, this gives me a reason to come to MOCpages more. :P

Nomis -
The rule stands as it is. The challenge of increased difficulty is implied by your participation in the Cup.
As to results - if it's spotted, it's Out. Nothing personal; the other participants are trying equally as hard to abide by Da Rules. Respect them, and they'll return the favor.

Shoto -
Modded implies the alteration of a piece in ANY way, that changes its function, application, or compatibility with other Lego pieces (I'm seriously Guilty of this offense often, and am a qualified example of how NOT to do this correctly). Broken bits aren't advised, lest you be suspect of the above. Your call, ultimately - as with Nomis, if it's spotted...

As long as it's not deformed significantly or broken, then it should be fine. As long as the piece is 1) in one piece and not two or more 2) bent too much to be recognised as its original form 3) there is no three.

Rule #1 "LEGO System parts (that's bricks) should be kept to a minimum."
That means that if in some parts of the MOC you really need a few bricks, plates, etc. you can use them, just don't make them too conspicuous.

Unless you're required to, do it only if extremely necessary, and still, not to the point it can be considered a revamp or remake of that MOC. It must remain the same design, only perhaps with some small, subtle alterations. I suggest you wait to know the next themes before thinking of that.

This doesn't want to offend, annoy or make fun: Why I don't see any judge to give more than a 7 to the entries? In other words, what does an entry need to get higher puntuations?

Because only a couple of them have begun judging already? There's 6 of us, wait a bit...
And well, wanna higher scores? Be creative. Do your best. Thats about it.

Two judges in almost all the entries , I asked because I find a lot of them very good and surprisingly they have 'low notes', at least lower than I expected for them.(I know there are six -weren't seven?- judges, but anyways, it's strange to find ony one or two 8-9 in this amount of good jobs). Maybe something was being missed, ask doesn't hurt.

That may have something to do with the fact that some of our *7* judges can't count past 6, forget 7 lol.

Seriously now, I can't speak for the others, but both Crowe and I left exhaustive reviews to accompany our votes, and there you can find exactly where and why we found parts of an entry lacking.
You also need to consider that when voting on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 must represent near perfection, so if we gave every cool MOC at least an 8, we'd have a range of votes too narrow to be significant, and a lot of ties.
No, a "cool MOC" must represent the minimum passing mark, and that's 6.
I hope this answers to your question, but on a personal note, I consider myself an average 7 as a Bio-MOCer, so every time I give someone more than that I acknowledge that they can build better than I can.

Only five are present in the "Meet the Judges" thread. Unless MOCpages did it's usual trick of not loading the entire conversation. I know that the top 32 go through, but is there a minimum passing score, or is it all relevant?

If at the end of this round there are 31 or less people with better scores than you, you pass.
If there are 32 or more people above you, you don't.
Your average scores are irrelevant.

Maybe yes, maybe no. It's unknown until all the entries have been done and judged.

Ja ja, don't worry, I'm also worried. Don't know what do you want to do with your entry, but you can still improve it comparing it with the other entries, and if you want to disassemble it, well, you can do it without problems. If you pass you'll have to rebuild it though =P
