O hai, MOCPages. Here's a little thred so you cna know who we are and we can brag abotu ourselves a little bit.
Anyway, I'm Johann, age 21, brazilian, Bionicle enthusiast since the very beginning of it, and well, I do some MOCs here and there. My judging will focus mostly on the design and creativity of your entries. The more original and well-thought, the better! I'm expecting some nice competition this year, and hope that you guys really try to go out of the box. So, good luck to all and MOC on! Permalink
Hi, I'm Chris and I'm a Bionicleholic... Oh wait, wrong group.
Anyway, I'm probably older than most of you young-uns, being 32. I make video games etc etc, but I'm mostly here to judge on the coming creations. Criteria, if you want to know, include creative techniques and appealing design aesthetics. I also look for new or rarely used techniques, so if you want to be one of the best, look past stock standard and go beyond. You're tangling with the serious creators now. Mediocre just won't cut the keeto-mustard. Permalink
Hello, I'm Yuri Fassio. You may remember me from some time-honored classics as... but more of that in a minute.
I'm freaking 36, so I have probably already forgotten stuff that happened before you were born, I like all of LEGO all the time, but Real Life gets in the way (in fact I hoped to play this year, but nada).
I started using Bionicle to make playthings for my little cousins first, and my nephews now, so I came to value playability and design over sheer technique.
Have fun in this contrest, we made it that way! Permalink
Hello Class, I'm Mr. Crowe. C-R-O-W-E. *sound of chalk squeaking, then breaking* Dang.
Everyone take out their texts and turn to page thirty-two. Today, we'll be learning how to obsess about Lego two full decades past the point you should have donated your collection and moved on, and then- Charles, put your hand down, son. If time permits we'll also cover- Charles! Seriously? Oh. Well, perhaps you and your hummingbird's bladder should've considered that before chugging those four Red Bulls. You can simply Hold It until the bell. Now for Attendance: Bueller?... Bueller?... =)
~Ahem~ Well, I'm not an actual Crowe, but I play one on MOCpages. I'm a Scot (fully American, sadly), a happy dad and husband, and my age is... well, I've beaten all the other Judges who've admitted theirs thus far (and you can just randomly guess numbers til you get bored with it - I'll never tell.;P)
I'm looking for Style, Techniques used, and commitment to Theme. I don't mind hearing a few thoughts on Story, either - but mostly, it's about seeing you Innovate something new and striking, and having FUN while you do it.
Dig deep, interpret, and cut loose! =) Looking forward to your Best! Permalink
Hey, I'm Jesse, but I mostly use the name Monarth around the internet, so you can go with that or Monty for short. I've participated in all the previous Bio-Cups, being a 2-time finalist and the winner of last years cup, thus gaining the status of a judge this year.
I'm a recent high-school graduate at the age of 19 and locate in the cold northern Europe, Finland. Not so cold anymore though due to climate change.
I grew up with Bionicle since the beginning and began making my own creations in 2007 and been growing skills from that. I've been on mocpages since the same year. You may have noticed, that I'm more of a beast than humanoid builder, so you better expect me to have my eyes on you in such categories >_O
I expect and favor new innovations and unique designs, but most of all I expect you to play fair and enjoy the contest. Permalink
Im probably the oldest of the judges at 42. I have two kids who grew up with bionicle when they were young.
Although I am retired in building bionicles for my kids, I do enjoy viewing the works of younger people.
Mocing is a FUN ART that brings out the best creative juice in one. I have done many bionicle art of which my best are posted here for everyone to see.
I am always looking for creative originality first and technical skills ability being second when I judge a mocing contest.
My advice to those who are joining and competing is to have lots of fun. Have fun building your own mocs. It doesn't matter if it may not be the judges pick but as long as you had fun and challenged you then all is good.
Remember its only a friendly competition where everyone is also a winner.
As usual it's a pleasure for me to administrate this competion! Unfortunately as the years go by I have less and less time to judge and give proper attention to this contest. Luckily though, I've got my always trust worthy judges to help me fulfill this duty!
This contest was created primarily with the intention of being fun and bringing out the best in you as far as your building capabilities go, showing unusual and impressive types of MoCs to everyone! That is why we will always push you harder and harder! That is also why I think this is a blast not only for those who participate in the contest itself, but also for everyone who's an spectator!
Judgement wise, I'm always fair and imparcial, considering the most important atribute to be originality, both in the entry's aesthetics and contruction, with of course attention to details.
About me, I'm a brazillian law student aged 19, I've been a LEGO fan since I can remember myself as a person, I work in the real-estate businnes with my grandfather and I also have a passion for games, films, music and some other stuff lol.
Perhaps that's too much about myself, but anyway, I wish all of you the best of luck!
Also, english is my second language so pardon me for the occasional grammatical errors.
