Why you go against your own rule and make a new thread? lol

Is there a size limit for your entry? Perhaps 16x16?

Nope, no size limit. Your entry just needs to be captured in a 1 picture post. See the rules thread for all the necessary details.

LDD and or Photoshop allowed? And also, I usually make comedy skits with my sigfig with each MOC. As long as the main focus is the photo, are the skits allowed?

Hmm...LDD is something Max and I haven't discussed yet. I'm going to say no LDD (we'll announce that with the release of the captions). We'd like you to create your selected scenario using real bricks. I'm also afraid that you can't include any skits. You're only permitted 1 picture (the main photo). Any entries with more than 1 picture will be disqualified. My apologies for the barrage of "NOs" but that's the way this contest works.

Okay. What about photoshop to add certain speech bubbles?

No speech bubbles, sorry. The purpose of the contest is for you to create visual image that reflects the "speech" (the caption) we've already given to you. If you want to use photoshop simply to enhance the colors in your entry, minimal editing along those lines is fine.

Okay, sorry for so many questions, but one more. Can I make two copies of the page? I'll post one in the group with the guidelines as a 'contest edition', and another I'll keep to myself as an 'extended edition' with an intro, extra information and how I built it.

Yeah, no problem, this is the place to ask questions! As long as you create an entry that meets all the rules of this contest, I don't care if you do more with your build afterwards.

So we can enhance the photos, but you can't, say, cut one picture and paste it in another as the background?

Just to follow up what Ian said, photoshop is legal, but only to a certain extent. Small visual enhancements are fine, but if possible, try to keep editing at that. All of the Caption this Photo posts that Ian and I have done so far (with the exception of one) have consisted of one initial photo with a few minor effects merely to "sell it." Can't wait to start seeing these entries!

Only 1 person is going home with a prize. Whether or not we'll pick our favorite of each caption and then select the winner from that bunch remains to be seen. As of yet, we obviously don't know if an entry will be submitted for each caption (maybe everyone will just do #1 and #3). We don't know, but that's part of the fun!

What if I did a 3 pictures together, each of which had one of the captions, and the three tied into each other?

Max and I are still piecing that together. It will probably be a custom built "Caption this Photo" trophy by one of us.

Sorry, you're only aloud to pick 1 caption and post 1 picture displaying your own original scenario.

If you want to do that, do what I did. Post an original one in this group, and then make an 'extended edition' for your own personal use.

Nope, sorry! We want to see something new and fresh. One photo shouldn't be too hard to produce.

Are we allowed to add paper or stickers with words on it to the image?

If so, then I have a rather good idea....

Do you mean you want to create custom decals? That type of thing? If so, that's okay, as long as it's in moderation. We've already provided you with captions to select from, so what we really want to see is the Lego! And I myself am a Lego purist...just so you know my preference. ;)

It's going to be a sticker added to the wall that explains part of the caption.

Oh, well i guess that means I'm out, my parts are pretty much drained, and i don't feel like taking the hammer to anything yet. (and don't currently have the money to get more parts)

I may be able to do something in micro scale though. We'll see.

...how do you add a hyperlink?

For a hyperlink, write as follows:

<a href=http://mocpages.com/group.php/22872>Photo This Caption Contest</a>

Though you can put whatever you'd like between the two chunks of HTML, I just provided you with a basic link to the group homepage, because I'm assuming that's what you'll need!

The link is what I'm worried about. I just tried the link that you posted and it says query failed. Can you just type the address www. ?

Did you copy and past the entire HTML code around the link too? Do that, stick it in your entries write up (but not in the intro box), and see if it works then. If not, let me know.
