How I became an athiest
I am an athiest because It doesn't make sense that there is a higher power controlling our lives. Also because some christians are hypocritcal. Some priests say that g_ys harm children yet some preists r4pe children. People say that christianity is about love and understanding yet some christians say that muslims and g_ys are evil. This is my opinion. Please don't ban me.

But as an atheist you acknowledge that the universe has no purpose and that we are all just a huge cosmic screw-up.

I do not know what my purpose in life is.

So you don't have a purpose in life? Then there is no point in existing.

Uh... What? The D word isn't that bad, at least not in my part of the world, so it's pretty much accepted as a normal word. Habits are hard to break.

As for the F word, I know what you speak of, but I've never used it on my MOCs. Well, there was one time I used it, but it was partially censored, and I was showing just how frustrating it was to search for something for 2 whole weeks.

I've never cussing a single time in my life. I think that cussing is a nasty and vile thing. Mormons have very high standards, and voted to keep the family sacred and keep the marriage between a man and a woman.

This debate started out as stereotyping. You can't say all catholics, and all christians, just because you met a few that didn't agree with you. It would be like me saying your bad just because your atheist (which I will never say). This has potential for a good debate, if both sides agree to leave out stereotypes, we will get no where if we say things based on individual experiences.

As for the gay thing, everyone is a sinner, so sterotyping one group out is not right. I for one am in full favor against gay marriage. Why? because I simply believe that if we where created as dudes and dudets, and the parts seem to fit, (I mean that in a physical, and mental sense) that that is how it was meant to be. A homosexual relationship has to make up for all the parts they are missing from the other gender, that means it is not a natural process of things.

As for islam, they do believe in Christ. Anyone can say that they BELIEVE in Christ but the important part is whether or not they believe him to be the son of God, and our savior. Islam holds Jesus as a prophet, not as the son of God and savior of man. There is a huge line between, I believe he exists, and I have believe and have faith in him as my lord and savior.

Anyway, it makes just as much sense to say that we where created, then to say we came out of nothing. However, created would explain our emotions, appearance, behavior, and situation. Nothingness doesn't. Like you said as well, SOME christians are hipocritical, and SOME is not everyone. Basing your world view off of a small amount of people will always look like you didn't spend much effort in your time searching. That is like saying that because those terrorists blew themselves up that all of Islam hates America, which isn't true. If we cut off the stereotyping, I think this discussion would be one worth seeing through to the end :)

(Also thanks for posting how you feel, we as christians really do need to pay attention to what you all are saying, so that we can answer your questions about Christianity.)
