I am currently the head of a group of cops for MOCPages. I am asking for you to join. There are three groups I have contacted, this being one of them. After seeing that Sean Keeney doesn't do anything, this group would help out MOC in the event of a hacker, hate group, plagiarist, etc. If you wish to join, please ask to by commenting below. You will be invited within one day. Thank you.

I don't think there is much you can do for any of those things you mentioned, especially not a hacker. Furthermore, you can't appoint yourself as moderators for MOCpages.

Ever see The Dark Knight? Or any other superhero film for that matter; they all made themselves into the hero. We're doing the good cop/bad cop deal. Sean resists to make MOC follow HIS rules, so we make it happen. We're doing HIS job.

Amen. But the group activty needs to pic up.

The Dark Knight is a MOVIE. In real life, vigilantism is illegal and punishable by incarceration. If you don't like how Sean runs the website, than leave.

just because it's illegal doesn't make it wrong....

This isn't "vigilantism." I don't think you understand it's meaning... Vigilantism is when a man is going upon somebody for the wrong motives yet truely making the situation just. Another meaning is exactly that I just said but the man would be against the law as well.

The vigilantism comment was referring to the Dark Knight, my point being that a superhero movie isn't a good metaphor for trying to be moderators that doesn't have the authority to declare themselves as such, or that anybody even wants.

Why do you think its illegal in the first place?

Okay, say you have a really popular group that you made and it has taken you years to make. You think someone you have known for a while is a friend, but as it turns out, he was just playing you. You had already given him an admin position along side you. Overnight, lets say he took over your group, banned you, and ran it his way.

Next what do you do? Oh, that's right, you talk to Sean and Chrs, the mocpages administation. You ask them to help you. What do you do when they tell you that, "It was your own fault, you should have known better"?

Don't tell me you wouldn't be upset at them.

because the government doesn't like people doing it's job. should there ever come a time where they aren't doing their job, vigilantism is a reasonable response in my opinion.

I wouldn't be upset, because it would be my fault. It isn't Sean's responsibility to moderate the administration among groups. Generally, you should make people who are responsible into admins, not so-called friends. Becoming an admin or moderator shouldn't be a reward, it should be given to people who are responsible.

I feel the same way in that regard, I don't think positions should be given out as prizes. However, you are missing the point. Let's forget about the friend part, lets say instead it was a guy who you gave a position cause you thought he could handle the position. And then he backstabbed you. Would this chance your decision?

I would be annoyed and disappointed, sure, but I wouldn't run to Sean and complain about it. Groups aren't the main drawing point of the site; MOCs are. If a group started with the sole purpose of spamming MOCs, however, he might intervene if it got really bad.

Good question; one or two people from MOC Cops join that group, become his friend, get an administration job and take it over again :)

Admins can't ban other admins. Is it really even a big deal? MOCpages are mainly for MOCs, not groups.

Wrong. As an admin, you can demote another admin, and then ban him. Yes, it is a big deal. Groups are not only a way to socialize, but they are a way to show off your mocs, make friends, and stand for something. Several times, when I was the head of Freedom Fighters, and Mocpages CIA, I helped oversee the rightful Admins back. I was thanked and gained respect by many. We make a difference where The MOCpages Administation don't. We do what they fail to do.

I stand corrected. The simplest solution seems to be to just have one admin. However, don't fool yourself into thinking that you have any actual power to ban people or remove admins. If you really care so much about having a place to talk, start a forum or something.

I have. I made a group

So far I have resolved several issues in this group alone.

No offense, but I've been doing pretty well just by my self. Not saying I couldn't use your help, it's just that your group is lacking on the activty. I left due to all that. I could use you in my group however.

It isn't anarchism. Do you really think a human-ran government is always going to be right? That every action it commits is justified?

Now, I don't support the stereotypical anarcho-extremist views, and I am not even an anarchist, but I don't think you can put 100% trust in any human-ran system.

Anyway, I do support this group and I would be glad to join.

All governments are human run, and all anarchists are humans.

I know that, but my point is that it is hard to put 100% trust in any human- no one is ever going to be correct all the time.
