Who's really in power here?
Join to comment
Ever since I joined this group I've wondered: Who is really in power in this group. God? Or Lt. John Harland? I'm not saying God is not all powerful. I'm asking if Lt. Harland here is trying to run the show. Sure he's Admin and all. But does that allow him to set the rules? If this truly is a "Christian" group, why do I see an obviously Non-Christian leader?

Obviously the people with the "Admin" and "Moderator" tags next to their name run the group.

Look. Lt. John Harland is the authority. Read Romans 13 if you need help. On the other hand its a problem if a non-christian is running a christian group. Please submit to your authority. Read Romans 12.

The Bible Also Says If Your Hand Causes You To Sin, Cut It Off. Harland Is, In My Opinion, Our Sinful Hand.

Well for the record I'm a roman Catholic and what I normally do is lock topics and approve new members.

I can tell you obviously dislike my being an admin so why not quit and start a group? Where your "sinful hand" is cut off.

Gentlemen, we need to quite throwing around so much garbage. What kind of an example are we setting for others with talk like this? As Christians, we have a responsibility to treat others in a Christ like manner. If there's a problem, we should address it calmly and think through it instead of just jumping on each others backs. I agree that admins and mods run a group, but those in the group voluntarily joined. However, the leaders in this group need to be presenting a Christian example. So lets not all get angry, but with brotherly love work through a potential problem.

Sir, why are you saying this and setting yourself up for problems? Either you are a Christian and should act as one, or you're not and this group is not yours to lead. I will not judge you, because judgment belongs to God, but saying things like this do not lend to keeping things settled. I agree that it is not the responsibility of others in the group to judge that you are or are not a Christian. If you are saved, please do your best in your speech and actions to prove yourself a Christ-like example.

You have to be very careful with wording because I cannot discern tone of voice by reading posts. Anyway what do you believe is the purpose of this group?

Harland, I'm not trying to offend you but I'm just going to give my opinion: I'd say you might be abusing your power as an admin, it's good to just do your job as an admin and basically "run the group" but what I think is the cause of it is just abusive power. Next time, just think about what someone would say like if your doing something wrong or acting like your the "head" of the group. Also, it's ok to admit that you did something wrong just don't over do it like what you said that you ARE the wolf pack. So just don't over do it next time a situation like this happens again and before any one says it, Catholic is a "Branch" of Christianity and I'm part Christian and part Catholic and sometimes I've been told that "Catholics are bad, or you're a 'anti-Christian'" I hope this helped ;D

first of all thanks for being polite about it. I do appreciate that. Anyway it seems many of you have a bone to pick with me. My question is, what is it that i did wrong? I believe that all i have done during my time as an admin is lock topics advertising for non-related groups, answer requests for membership and ban MAYBE one or two people. thats my job as an admin. If you see that as an "abuse of power" then thats your problem. If you have problems with how i run the group start a new thread and tell me. hope this helps and good luck.

I understand about tone of voice. Sorry for not having worded it better. Now to answer your question.

I believe the purpose of CFOL is to honor God through our attitudes, actions, and MOCS, and to be a Christian example to others on MOCpages and beyond. Further, I think this group should be a place for thoughtful, God-honoring debate.

There's my two bits. By the way, with what I said earlier I did not mean in any way to imply that you had done something wrong. I hope we're good now.

Frazier, the Scripture does indeed say that. THIS IS NOT AN ATTEMPT TO OFFEND YOU, but I will answer you with this: I don't see Harland judging people and speaking so harshly. Perhaps he's not the sinful hand. Just please be careful before you judge. Psalm 75:7 "But it is God who judges: He brings down one, He exalts another."

I would like to see Scripture verses of the particular offenses Harland has committed, and a brief description under that verse of what that offense is in Harland's case. I know I'm asking you to do a bit of work, but it should help clear things up. :)

Well first off

The CFOL is a fanmade group on a Lego website, this is where we can come together to share each others beliefs, there is no need to fight we are all equal in gods eyes, Harlands doing his duty as admin to lock pointless topics that have nothing to do with Spirituality and sometimes having to ban 1 or 2 people for there rudeness and insults. We all have times where we ourselves have troubles and do things we regret, but don't make it worse by arguing about it.

My favorite Scripture

Joshua 1:9
"Have i not commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage, be not afraid neither be though dismayed for the Lord thy god is with thee wither soever though goest."

My all time favorite scripture, i would like encourage you to memorize that scripture and use it in your daily lives no matter the circumstances I always remember that scripture during a time of Hardships.

Sure, but i don't know everything about being a mormon. I am still learning but i believe it. I know god lives. Just please don't make this into an argument that splits the group in to two halves again, its happened once and it wasn't very pretty.

We believe that to get back to are heavenly father we must have faith, repent for everything we have done and try to live the commandments. Sure we all make mistakes but Jesus came and died so we could repent for our mistakes, im not sure what babtists believe, i am pretty sure that they think God, The holy ghost, and Jesus are all the same being or is that another religion? Sorry if i offended you by saying that but i was wondering
