there are six religions in the world(yes six, the rest have branched off those six) christianity, sikhism, Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, And Judaihsm

of those 6, 3 will not count in this argument, for islam is younger than christianity and therefore less credible, juddahism follows the same god as us(as do muslims), and buddhism follows no god

therefore the others do use the idea of gods, and with the older gods from druidism, norse lore, greek mythology and roman mythology there are hundreds of different gods

how do we know our one is the correct faith? (warning anyone who uses "ugly" comments will be demoted or banned!...continue)

Islam is less credible than Christianity because of age? Doesn't that make Christianity less credible than Judaism? (Hmm...)
But I don't see why that's even an argument...

That seems to be an odd list - why include Sikhs but not some others? Perhaps a better way would be to break things down broadly into atheism, monotheism, polytheism and pantheism. Or I've seen people make a rough division between the Eastern faiths and the Western.

We know our faith is the right one because of
(a): The Bible
(b): Miracles
(c): The Holy Spirit
Of course, I wonder why we're debating in here. I joined the group because I wanted the world to know that I'm a Christian... not because I wanted to debate why. I'm here to build, not to preach.

(a): The Bible

Muslims know their faith is right because of:
(a): The Qur'an
(b): Miracles
(c): Muhammed

Buddhists know their faith is right because of:
(a): Dharma and Sangha
(b): Miracles
(c): Buddha

The Jews know their faith is right because of:
(a): The Torah
(b): Miracles
(c): Moses

I could go on, but pretty much my point:
Any religion can think they are right because of:
(a): Their holy texts
(b): Amazing things described in said texts
(c): One or more important characters of the respective religions

I would reply to this by elaborating on my three points, but I've already lost interest. I'm here to build, not to debate. Isn't that the whole point of MOC pages?

Why participate in a debate if you have no interest in doing so?

like i said branches following faiths...zorostranthism was an early form of islam, i mentioned pagans which basically is any religion at that time shunned by the church...druidism, roman, greek, even devil worship

many would argue that the six major were branches from the proper religion as well(the first as in when we were monkeys and looked at the sun and gave it a name)

+atheism isnt a faith its a belief like the humanists or creationists

anyway my question was how do we know which faith was the true faith

Ok first: Read the bible (very important) Second: My friend went to Jordan and if you know the story of Moses, he had a brother named Aaron and in Jordan there was a really rocky mountain and on top of the mountain there was a box and inside the box were Aaron's remains so thats how you an tell that the stories in the Bible are true. Also, he saw sites where Jesus actually walked and there are signs of it as well, like when there was a demon-possessed man who was so crazy he could break the chains that held him and the gate he lived in was still there and he was saved by Jesus. I hope this helped

first:have done, very boring at times, very weird and graffic in others ...all good times that im hopless for remembering

two: not only were jesus and moses jewish(which increases the chances of the jewish faith being the true faith) but i personally its impossible for four reasons...

1. the story of moses has many different variations, like all bible stories because the history had to be passed through word of mouth most of the time

2. that couldve been anyones remains, no scientific evidence can prove anymore that that was moses' brother

3.mount horeb and sinai were the only ones associated in the actual put-together-churchy version of the bible...both to do with the ten commandments which moses smashed and put in the ark -remains in a box

Lots of religions have events taking place in places that exist.

Also Christianity was created out of Judaism and it was made because people started to change the original religion and people got mad so they created Christianity to keep the truth alive and to tell others about Jesus.

Since you brought up your so-called "Scientific evidence" Every human has a part of DNA that is the same and Jesus was born a human so we all have the same DNA as Jesus so we are related to Jesus Scientifically and Spiritually.

Also, it isn't the religion you are that counts to go to heaven, what counts is if you believe that Jesus is our savior and died for our sins (doesn't anyone know the ABC's of being a Christian?). Mount Horeb and Mount Shinai were the only ones that were important in the OLD testament, in the New testament there were many important sites that had to do with Jesus being there. Don't believe me? It's your choice to think that Jesus isn't really our faith.

I know that because before the bible, they were just stories written in paper (scrolls?) but they were passed down so they are known from lot's of places and in other religions the are put in their bible or "scripture" that they believe really happened. That's why normally when you ask any random person if they know the story of David and Goliath there is a great chance they'll say they've heard of it, or they think they have but not much because they were stories passed down form long when they started out as stories.

your belief is your belief as mine is mine...in an ideal world no one would have to change

as for that comment about dna, dna is in our genes and is completley different from one person to the next except its similar in parent son blood...so if you want to track down the descendants of moses to prove your theorem, then do so. but dont quote that we are the same as jesus, the closest you will get to his dna is jews who hae been living in the holylands for umpteen generations and even they are way off

nothing in the new testament talks about moses like i was, but i said nothing of jesus(who is my faith btw or i wouldnt be here in cfol would i lol)

Yeah I know he is in the Old testament but at times the "bad guys" of the old testament refer to Moses as "Moses's teachings" or "The law of Moses" and the part of the DNA that tells that we are all humans. We weren't like Jesus he was a perfect human but if you read the beginning of Genesis (first book of the bible) it says that God created man in his own image. (Not trying to argue with you dude just trying to clear things out, which I hope I did ;)

Ok I actually like Band of Brothers better than the Pacific because Band of Brothers lets you experience the loss of great soldiers and what they had to go through. In the Pacific, there is mostly gore and it shows what they go through, but it only explains the story of 4 soldiers and Band of Brothers explains the story of basically all of the members of the company that played a specific role. (wow I can really talk/type :P )

Why participate in a debate if you have no interest in doing so?

Gah! Everyone's determined to suck me into this debate, which is made all the worse by the fact that I want to participate further but know I really shouldn't. To answer your question, I only participated because I hoped I could end it quickly by stating that MOC pages wasn't for debating. Now that I've realized I can't, this will be my last post in this conversation. I've got a build to work on. Happy building, everyone.

Play well,
Mark
