How about we blame Obama and the liberals.

I second that notion.

Everything is not liberals fault. Liberals used to be the good guys.

Probably going to sound like a mouthpiece here, but: Labour governments have always been very fond of firearm control. Look at Australia: you can't legally own a semiautomatic over there without some expensive permits and invasive background checks. Who put the legislation in? Labour. But the criminals who caused it? Well, if you've got gangs running around shooting people with shotguns, and you ban shotguns so they can't get them, what do you want to bet they'll still have them five years later? If someone going to break one law (I.E.: shooting people) they're not going to blink at breaking another (I.E.: owning banned weapons).

So, my point: I haven't a clue what this current discussion is about because I don't read the news overly much, but I'd be willing to wager it happened in a "gun free zone". Criminals are, once you slice away all the posturing, cowards. Nobody likes to walk into a situation where they could get killed. Gun free zones don't have possible victims who might be armed. Therefore you won't likely get shot if you start killing people in one.

So yes, it probably IS the fault of the socialists.

You got me good. Gun Control is, in some ways, against the Constitution.

In all ways, really.

If you ask me, a policy whereby someone goes through a shallow background check and is then qualified to own anything they can afford would work best. Nothing invasive, just "is this guy a convicted murderer/rapist/kidnapper? Is he who he says he his? Does his family and friends agree he's a responsible person?" and if it shows up no to the first and yes to the rest, let him buy anything he wants.

Ave Imperium!

I don't know about Awe, but I'm a hyperconservative. Added to that, I don't like being manipulated and I don't like wasting time. Labour governments do both. Governments DITHER. It's all they do. So, the less of a government you have, the less dithering will be going on and the more useful things will get done.

Jeez. I'm a Conservative/Consututionist. My view on you guys has really changed!

You Americans and your two political parties.
You haven't got Libertarian parties, you haven't got Communist parties, you haven't got coalition governments, you've just got National and Labour, and if someone's not with one they're with the other.

America needs a fascist party, maybe we could get some of those crazy Republicans in there. Bring up a real Communist party, and put some of those uppity Democrats in that one. Then we'll be good.

Personally, I'm with the Caupoist party. Food, raptors, bears, and lots of getting things done. Deficit too high? Slash Medicare and defense spending. People whining? Send in the tanks. Corruption? Break out the secret police. Child rapists getting off on 6 year charges? Announce to the whole prison what they did and leave a few blunt objects lying around on accident.

Your liberal government works very hard to keep guns out of your hands. Because when certain individuals decide to go harm someone they dont want to run the risk of their victim being armed and the possibility they themselves being harmed by their victims defensive measures. Dont believe this garbage about them helping the everyman these, psychopaths break the law anyway what do they care?

So do you agree with Thomas Jefferson's ideas on what the ideal republic is? Because he pretty much said the same thing.

I'm not going to say 'yes' because I havent read much of Jefferson's work and I dont want any differences coming back to haunt me and because I disagree with many of his religious views particularly on the "Jefferson Bible"

Hey you, reality check: the only time in recent history that the Germans have tried to take over the world was during the Nazi regime, and newsflash? The Germans are completely paranoid about appearing militant or too rightwing. Want examples? Okay, well, you know how WW2 games elsewhere often have swastikas in 'em? Well, in Germany, you can't display those at all except during anti-Fascist demonstrations or for educational purposes. Which is why they get replaced by black X-s or diamonds in German versions of those games. Want another one? Okay, howsabout this? IIRC, they've got constitutional laws that make it fundamentally illegal for the German government to start a war. It's like Japan; not only would the people never support an aggressive war, but their own laws prevent them from shooting first.

If you're going to accuse anyone of trying to take over the world, try the Americans.
If they can't have it by force, they'll get it with money. And if they can't buy it, they'll control it with their all-pervasive stinker of a culture.

Minus the cultural thing, that also describes the Japanese, Chinese and Russians. Except the Russians are too busy drinking and being dirt poor to get any of that done.

You guys obviously don't understand the point of sarcasm. Of course Phaze's comment was probably more satirical then anything.

A quote that qinda sorta fits from "Llamas with Hats 3".

Carl: "I am having a wonderful time here."
Paul: "You toppled the South American Government Carl."
Carl: "The people have spoken 'Viva La Resistance'."
Paul: "You pushed the resistance leader in to a giant vat!"
Carl: "He was a traitor and a scoundrel."
Paul: "He was trying to stop you from pushing other people into a giant fan."

If you can figure out why I put this here then you win many internets.

gun control in any way is against the constitution. we aren't even supposed to have a goverment ran military. its supposed to be small militias formed by the people. thus we should be able to have the same weapons as the military.
